Romo is an easy target and being a Skins fan you gotta take aim. But when its comes down to the bottom line he is a capable playmaker. If I were Jacobs, I would be criticizing the vastly overrated supposid Cowboy Defense. They are the real joke on that team. Ware is a monster, other than that they got nothing. Also Jacobs should take aim at doughboy W Phillips, this guy is nothing but a loser...check his playoff record. Im so happy that super idiot Jerry Jones retained him for this year. Romo and the offense will have another solid year.
1) I hope Romo and the offense don't because 2) Wade may be a lousy head coach, but he is one heck of a D-Coordinator. Other than Philly, once he took over the D they really stepped up a notch. And they were ranked 8th (like we were 4th its only a ranking) last year. I will not be surprised if all 4 NFCE teams have top 6 D's this year. However, they have no effective head coach, and what I think the second Philly game showed is that if Wade has the D and the game starts going south, no one on the team is going to take over and get everything in balance. I think/hope it could be a LOONG season for them thar cowpokes. |

As much as I hate Dallas, Romo is a baller, in the pocket, out of the pocket and off the field (um, hello - Carrie Underwood AND Jessica Simpson?). I can't hate on him. And 14 INTs against 26TDs is hardly indicative of reckeless and boneheaded decision making, although dude does seem to be a choker in December. Good for us at least;) |
Re: Romo gets dissed again.
Jacobs is an idiot. NFL Network broke it down and in the pocket Romo has a rating of something like 95. Out of the pocket it was like 50.
Cool, hey anyone know his rating in his career for Dec ...or the playoffs, what's his record in Dec? |
Re: Romo gets dissed again.
If I remember right, December is 71-72, don't know the playoffs. November is his best, and I heard it speculated that he gets so cocky from his November runs he starts thinking he can do anything, generally leading to disastrous Decembers.

Yea he isn't very good in December 5-8 but again it's a TEAM sport.. In the 2 playoff losses he played pretty good, the bad snap happens and he did ok vs you guys. The Defense lost the game vs NY. Oh and Romo is 4-0 as a starter vs NY in the regular season with a CRAZY QB rating over 100. |

Romo is over-hyped and constantly cracks under pressure. He can put up solid numbers all year long, but when it comes time to win one for his team, he's nowhere to be found.LOL:spank: |

Giantone Eli has won a SUPER BOWL and that's a great accomplishment but so did Trent Dilfer and Tony Romo is better than Eli and there is no question about it. I know you will disagree and you should but it's a fact. Eli is the 3rd best QB in the East... And I hope Romo continues to choke because it helps us out but I honestly don't see it happening, the guy is a legit stud. |
Re: Romo gets dissed again.
I don't know how valued Jacobs' opinion is. I'm sure he watches game film, but I doubt he focuses on the opposing offense that much, so I wouldn't value his opinion any more than a fan. I would say Eli has worse receivers and Eli has to play half his games in a much tougher environment. It's cold and they always talk about the swirling winds there. I haven't really studied Romo or Eli, but I think this year will be much more telling to the type of quarterback Romo is now that TO is gone.

Re: Romo gets dissed again.
He's good enough to be getting all this attention. Don't forget he still kinda new to being a starter. This year will prove if he will be what us cowboy fans hope he is. He has been under a lot of pressure since the giants game when he replaced bledsoe. Never had time to adjust to being just a regular guy. Also he can't be all that bad when you compare him to most Qbs in the league there are only a few above him.

Sounds like your making excuses. Being a starter at QB on any NFL team comes with a lot of pressure, especially in a beast of a conference such as the NFC east. Romo is a playmaker and I will give credit when it is due. In terms of accomplishing anything, he is in the same boat as Jason, hasnt won a thing. Romo has blown both chances though to take that next step. This has become a pattern...not good. I feel Jason, if he gets the chance this year, will take the step and wont be a choke job Homo. |
Re: Romo gets dissed again.
No not making excuses and call him joke job homo etc. but at least he got them to that point and since moved in that direction that is something Jason has to do before we will ever know. So we will have to see or will we.

Re: Romo gets dissed again.
See I don't get all the choke talk. The guy dropped a snap holding for a FG and he choked? That wasn't even his position. And it was Patrick Crayton that choked in the playoff loss to NY. I think that's just media BS.
look at his record the last four games of each of the last two seasons. Not good stuff. At all. |

Everyone thinks he the new coming of Aikman and he chokes and goes down in december(pun intended). Also I have seen him throw games away during the regular season with some dumb mistakes. He isn't always as sharp as people think. IMO that is overrated and I guess I am the kinda guy who hates following the crowd, especially when they can be wrong at times. Consistency is important to me. This obviously brings up JC, 6-2 and 2-6. The reason why I think it is different because to me our offense didn't change much and JC didn't either. We had other issues. That really wasn't the case with Dallas. |

1)Dude people are gonna call him names like Homo, it's a freaking Skins forum. If you don't wanna hear it go to a Cowboys forum. Take the abuse and if you post with some substance and respect, people will give you props and atleast somewhat listen to what you are saying. 2) Since 1999 the Skins have won two playoff games and Dallas hasn't won any. There is no way to get around that, and Romo was/is suppose to change it. 3) As of now is Romo better than Campbell? Of course. No one is disputing that. Doesn't change that he is way overhyped and does not perform when most important. The truth is you all could have made the playoffs with any other QB; you need one that can win. |

Did you know that if the Cowboys lose their next playoff game, they will set an NFL record for most consecutive playoff losses at 7? While I hope that the Cowpatties do not make the playoffs, it will be sweet if/when they set that record for futility. |

Kidding. Uh, Brady's first SB winning team was pretty run of the mill, and not all that much better in the first round of the playoffs. I think, moreover, there have been plenty of near-miss super bowl stories from not-so-great teams, like Marino, as you mentioned, but also Warner this year, the 2003 Panthers, the 1985 and 1996 Patriots as well. I guess the Raiders of 1980 would probably be called the "worst" super bowl winner of all time, but Jim Plunkett isn't exactly on the verge of Canton. Anyway, looks like your big picture point holds. Downright sucky teams don't win the SB. |

I have a feeling that the Giants and Dallas will be the 3rd and 4th place teams in the division this year. Man I sure hope so. I do believe that our Offense should be better and we know our D will be awesome. If we can score 20 pts a game we will win 10+ games.. The Giants offense is a ? because ELI is a average at best QB and they have no WR 's at all. Dallas will win 9 or 10 games though and Philly should as well, but what do you expect it's the EAST!!!!!! |

Brandon Jacob's is hilarious because Tony Romo is a STUD! This guy is an idiot, Romo has been a BEAST since he started against NY a few years ago. There is no doubt about it, Romo is a top 10 QB (And is way better than SHELI Manning) And I hate dallas but this is just something dumb to say. That's like if I said Adrian Peterson is overated lol
I think you are letting the stats skew your view of Romo. From September through November most of what you say is true. I disagree that he is better than Eli. Eli has made huge plays when it counted for a Championship team. All Romo has ever done in December and January is make mistakes that his team could not overcome. You cannot laud a QB whose esophagus tightens up in every crucial game. As far as being a top 10 QB, I could probably name 15 that I would rather in a playoff game at this point in time. |

Name those 15 my man because I say he is a top 7 QB in the league. 1.Brady 2. Manning 3. Brees 4. Rivers 5. Mcnabb 6. BIG BEN 7. ROMO 8. WARNER 9. E.MANNING 10. CUTLER |

Of course, you win your division, you get to the playoffs, but I don't think that if it happened a year later (after the divisional reorganization) that they would have had a bye in the playoffs, and without that bye week, there's more or less zero chance of that team coming out of the AFC. What they started, of course, was the launching pad of more than a couple hall of fame careers, and the very genesis of one of the best 5 year runs in NFL history under Brady, but I think that team was more in the right place at the right time than anything else. Though I want to extend full credit for playing THE perfect game against the Rams, much like the Giants played THE perfect game against the Pats 6 years later. |
