If we don't build the oline both thru the draft (like the top 2 picks) and thru FA this team won't be any better next year than it was this year.

Re: If the season ended today Washington would pick 5th, and Cleveland would pick 6th!! (2004 Sean Taylor).
i would like to pick up an OT like Okung or Williams in the 1st and then pick up the best available C in the 2nd. OLB in the 3rd who can eventually take Orakpo's spot and so he move to DE full time.
if we decide to go with QB then hopefully we go with Bradfford in the 1st and then pick up an OT in the second who fits shanahan's zone blocking scheme. 3rd round we need LB help across the board, Rocky is free agent this year, Orakpo should be moving to full time DE in a year or two and Fletcher will be out of the league in a couple of years. We need find an eventual replacement or we gonna have an extremly week LB corps in a year |

Re: If the season ended today Washington would pick 5th, and Cleveland would pick 6th!! (2004 Sean Taylor).
Where do we sit now? Cleveland won. We needed Tampa to win but they lost and we needed KC to win in order to move up in the draft.
Where will we be if only Cleveland and KC win? Same spot or moved up to 4th? |
Re: If the season ended today Washington would pick 5th, and Cleveland would pick 6th!! (2004 Sean Taylor).
Last time we picked 4th the guy was Michael Westbrook. Hopefully we do better this time around.

But to be real we will need more then one draft to turn this thing around! I am not sold on any of the QB coming out so I like A LT or best player in that 1st pick!

I would like to see us move down afew spots and pick up another pick and still get a good LT.

I second that and maybe even more picks. |
Last time we picked 4th the guy was Michael Westbrook. Hopefully we do better this time around.
We also traded the #6 and #28 overall picks to jump up to #4 to select Desmond Howard. At least we won't be drafting a WR this time.

Only one answer for me.
Okung. We have a great track record of success with players with names starting with "O" and containing a "k". Seriously, he's exactly what we need. from all accounts, it looks like Braford is the one.... I hope not, I am not a fan of him at all...... But whoever Shanny brings in... I will support, because I assume he knows what he is doing.....

I'm going to lock this just so we don't have so many similar threads going and because we're not picking 5th.
