At this point, I'm guessing he'll be put on IR. I really thought he'd play and play well on Thursday and start the season at, at worst, our #4 WR. Tough to justify even that, at this point
Really, what we need is for someone to plant some weed in his car. He gets pulled over, caught with possession of marijuana, gets a 4 week suspension from Goodell, heals his hamstring, and he's back in time for the Packers in Week 5
Insider thought process.....NO sustitute..... |
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
So how does the PUP list work, did we have to designate that at the outset of camp and he can't participate until Week 6 or something? I hope in the next CBA they address this in the way of increased roster limits or a 8-9 game disabled list.
WHAT A TURD!
please CUT this fool already. He brings down the locker room. You'd think he was on a madden COVER with how much time he has spent HURT. |

Also, I don't think being injury pron constitutes calling someone a fool. |
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
wanted him to do well, but its over. hopefully armstrong, banks, somebody, anybody steps the f up!
|
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
At this point, if he had turned out a good season, it would have been a bonus, but instead it is time to move on. I could see IR, for a year, just to see if it makes a difference, but as Colt found out, it's not a safe haven for wannabees
|
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Devin Thomas, I'm looking at you, man. Please step up.
It will speak volumes if we end up starting Joey Galloway all season long. DT needs to step up big time, or WR should be a very top offseason priority. Hopefully Banks and/or Austin will add some of those twitchy quicks to our offense that guys like Darren Sproles and Josh Cribbs have brought to theirs. |
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
I thought Drew Brees was on the cover of Madden 11
|
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Sorry to see he is injured again. Hopefully he can heal and find good fortune elsewhere.
|
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Well that was a waste of a draft pick, eh?
|
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Actually I still say that this was a good use of those picks (old debate I know). Look, we got a starting TE (having 2 is NOT a bad thing), a serviceable WR, and a Bust. If we had spread the positions around, maybe we get 3 busts the way Vinnie picked, but at least now we got some value out of the round.
Oh, and every team can point to wasted 2nd round picks in their draft history. 2nds are never a lock.
Bottom line is we've got very little production from Thomas and Kelly. Thomas can't catch and can't get the mental side down and Kelly can't consistently stay healthy. Time to move on. |
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Relax grown ups are in charge.
|
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
I said WTF the moment we wasted a pick on Kelly. Of the 10 selections made in the 2008 draft, we have gotten very little performance. Thanks Vinny.

re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
IMO MS saw promise in MK why would you keep him so long with an injury, I think MS said it was the coaching that held these guys back let me see what I can do with them. Through out the OTA's & practices he saw promise but the injury messed everything up. If the FO says move on I'm with it.

BREAKING NEWS: Malcolm will be cut on Tuesday..j/k.
I feel bad for the him...it sucks but this is business. I hope the Skins cut him lose now and let him get a chance to catch on with another team. |

As I've said before, Kelly is the second coming of Taylor Jacobs. Both excellent college players, but neither tough enough to play the game at this level. |

You say that like Kelly is getting hurt in the games and from hits. Thats not the case. |

Kelly is not known for knocking the snot out others. Lets not kid ourselves, Kelly will not be mistaken for a tough guy on an NFL football field. He is a softy just like Talyor Jacobs. |

By whom? Champ Bailey? Kidding! Champ was the one that said Taylor Jacobs was the best practice WR he had ever seen. That ain't saying much. Practice is played at a lesser speed and hitting is less intense than real games...playoff games step it up even more. That is why I have never put much credence into players with a reputation of being great in practice. Do it in a real game then that will mean something....and I am not talking about one game...New Orleans. |

re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
I think it's a shame. By all accounts, from everyone I spoke to, Kelly's a good, hardworking guy universally liked by teammates, coaches, front office, security guards, secretaries, janitors, etc. at Redskin Park who was attentive at meetings, came early, stayed late, studied film, showed tremendous hands when on the field...but just hasn't been able to stay on the field as much as anyone would like.
I think people would actually be more forgiving if he had one devastating injury, like if he had been taken away on a stretcher and had to give a thumbs up sign to show the fans he wasn't paralyzed. But I think the fact that it's been lingering, nagging injuries that aren't easily remedied by some major surgery has turned more people against him. |

I believe in the power of The Secret which tells us that "an individual focused on positive thinking can realize life-changing results such as increased wealth, health, happiness and more." Or more likely a desperate team will pick him up for insurance after a few months. |

Welcome to the team, Terrence Austin.
Not so bad Buster that Terrence is on the team. I think our newbies will work out nicely. At least they are healthy and have fought to be on the team. The guys on the Bryant thread informed us of all the WR studs coming out next year for the draft!!!:food-smil |
re: Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IR
Can't see trusting that he'll ever be fully healthy. A freaking hamstring shouldn't sideline you for months.

Don't know his condition. As recently as this morning I was one of many "insiders" convinced he was a lock to make the team. Not as sure anymore But you guys do realize this means we're getting DeSean Jackson in 5-10 years, right? Think about it, 1994 (or thereabouts), Casserly wants speedy, small Joey Galloway, Turner wants and gets big, tall Michael Westbrook. Now?Galloway a redskin, Westbrook out of the league. 2001 Snyder wants speedy, small Santana Moss, Marty wants and gets big, tall Rod Gardner. now? moss a redskin, gardner out of the league. 2008 Beemnseven wants small, speedy DeSean Jackson, Vinny wants and gets big, tall Malcolm Kelly. Now? Vinny out of the league... |
