Yo HTown maybe you should check his career stats and record, pretty damn good. The last 3 years he's been very good and he's a big arm accurate QB. The most underrated QB in football IMO. Is he Dan Marino? Heck no but he's a pretty good player. He had no Marshall this year and moreno was hurt a lot and still but up BIG Time numbers. Just saying
Yeah well a lot of tipped balls off of receivers hands were because he was overthrowing. Eli has 24 picks and 6 lost fumbles. That's not good enough.
If his last name wasn't manning I swear people would rip him all day.. I've never been a fan of his, I'd take McNabb over Eli any day. You would think he would know his mechanics by now but my god he looks so damn lost at times. The guy isn't the worst QB but NO MORE franchise QB label for Eli.

Never include this on your resume, could negatively impact people's view of your decision making...

I would support us making a move for Orton, and rebuilding other aspects like our defense in the draft.

Grossman vs Orton vs Beck for the Redskins QB next season could be interesting.

I just dont think Orton is any better than Rex,just seems like a lateral move.No he didnt have Marshall this yr,but he had Lloyd who is playing out of his mind.According to my Denver friend, when the games on the line Orton blows it,either witha fumble, pick or ball in the dirt. He's a tease,he'll make you think he's great but then blows it.
Now if were signing Orton to replace Rex as a stopgap for a rookie,Im not opposed to that, just dont think hes the guy you throw a lot of money at to be the"GUY"

Trust me, most Giants fans I know aren't big fans of Eli, never have been despite winning a SB.

What % of fans would you say are firm supporters of him?

You must mean prior to 2010, because Vick is having a better season than any NFC East QB in recent history. And I'd take Romo over Eli in a New York minute.

LaGarrett Blount is a straight up beast and he may be the next young star RB. Can't believe the guy went undrafted for upper cutting the guy on Boise.

Anybody think the NFL cancelling the Eagles vs Minnesota is kinda weak? Pussification of football...Cant remember a game canceled for weather.

I think the NFL wasn't left with much of a choice. If I'm not mistaken, the mayor of Philly came out yesterday morning and declared that all residents should not leave their homes after 2pm. Given that, what was the NFL supposed to do? What if they held the game? Then anyone who attended would be acting against the wishes of the mayor, and what if someone was seriously hurt or killed at the game as a direct result of the weather? It would be a friggin fiasco.

A few weeks ago the Bears and Patriots played in blizzard conditions in Chicago. It's not like the league is opposed to playing in bad weather. I just don't think they were left with much of a choice on this one.

Absolutely. It offends me and more importantly probably any player that has played in a bad weather game.

Also offends the Governor of PA

Re: Around the NFL: Week 16

from the article, kinda sums it up for me:
Sure, in retrospect, it's easy to say the game should have been played. But at the time the decision was made, it was the right call. Being reactionary doesn't work in a blizzard. You have to be proactive. If the blizzard conditions that hit New York had been present in Philadelphia during the game, it would have been dangerous for the thousands of fans who would have braved the weather. Just as importantly, it would have been a huge problem for the road crews and police who would have been tasked with saving stranded motorists in whiteout conditions on the highways. Officials always say during storms to stay at home and leave the roads clear for emergencies. A football game is no emergency.

I thought it was hilarious when Collinsworth was just going on and on about it, he was pretty harsh of the decision. I thought it was a bit weak, but understand it...i think after seeing the conditions, it really wasnt that bad compared to games in the past. Better safe than sorry for those lil gurlie man Philly fans

The Saints take care of Atlanta in Atlanta tonight, big win for those guys.

I personally don't have a major problem with Dan Snyder.....BUT, every time I see Gregg Williams and how his Saints D perform. Thinking IMO he should have been our next HC three years ago after Joe hand picked the man. No sooner than Joe gets out the door, dumb and dumber go through countless interviews get rid of Gregg and Al, hire another dummy in Zorn and within weeks its a circus all over again. If to much thought goes into it Snyder makes me sick!

They just said on the postgame show that Drew Brees has completed 20 or more passes to 10 different receivers this year. First time in league history. That's just silly efficient. Also makes you never want to start a Saints pass catcher in fantasy football. Haha.

He's improved his Chicago numbers with Denver, but not exactly sure what he ranks highly in that would make you call his numbers "big time". He hasn't turned the ball over much, I suppose.

And you may be the first person to ever use "big arm" to describe Kyle Orton. He's neither strong armed, nor accurate, and his arm tends to fail him after about 350 or 400 throws in a season.

Orton is the perfect NFL backup quarterback, and is worth acquiring at the level of a 7th round pick.

Tuesday football....it's only been a little more than 64 years. :D

This season's been freaking crazy with unexpected crap. Arian Foster, Randy Moss, McNabb, Vick, etc.

Vick has thrown about 5 balls that should've been picked. One of them was, a couple dropped, one offensive pass interference

oh look.. they just stripped him and took it for a TD

he's not helping his MVP chances with this game
Ortons arm is better than u think tripp, I saw him throw a couple 50 plus yard td bombs in Denver.
Consider the altitude. I'm not sure why his arm strength is that relevant anyway, he's been a pretty good player in the Broncos spread system, but certainly not a great player, and I think he's rated about properly.

The Broncos reamed the Bears in the Orton-Cutler deal, but they pissed away most of the draft picks immediately. Orton can start about 10 games per year max, so acquiring him as a backup makes a lot of sense.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 16

I was just going to say that, physically, Joe Webb is the complete package as a quarterback. No way to tell if he'll ever develop into a nice passer, but the Vikings would be foolish to not enter the year with him starting, especially considering they likely won't do any better in the draft. Plus, that team is going nowhere next season.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 16

Yeah, I guess one can say that Vick is one of those guys who can overcome his own misreads....
