Can the Free league draft occur sometime after the 23rd? I will be traveling from the 18th - 23rd, and really don't know how much computer availability (and free time) will I have. If not then I will set up an auto draft.

Uhg, what a crazy August (and July) it's been. So sorry I (Nittany Drunkards) missed this. If there is an opening next year, I'd love to get back into the league. Can't believe I missed my chance at defending my title. Good luck everyone, and sorry to have been so out of touch.

Orrrrrr, perhaps I just made it? I finally logged onto Yahoo and saw an invite there for the league. I accepted and looks like I might be the 12th team? Am I seeing this right?....the draft got moved to the 29th? Boy I hope this is right and I get a chance at defending my title after all. If I took someone else's spot though, let me know and I can delete my team....don't want to step on anyone's toes.

Sorry about that last night S&C. Unfortunately Yahoo doesn't give the commish very much control during the draft, other than being able to pause it. If you're really unhappy about it we can vote on whether to re-draft, or if you want I'll refund your money. You just wouldn't be eligible for winning any prize money. Or if anyone has a suggestion let's hear it.

Next year we'll look at doing the league on ESPN, or another service that gives more in-draft control.

And regarding the rules can we please not wait til the last second again to suggest changes? I was kinda irked at that last night, can't lie.

What sort of changes are you talking about when you said "last second" suggestions?

Perhaps if you sent a simple "Please provide any suggested changes to [whatever ]. No changes will be considered after ____." Or just add the text "Please check scoring, positions, etc. No changes will be made to the settings prior to draft" when the draft reminder is sent. Maybe it cuts down on some of that.

When I opened the league I posted asking for everyone to review the scoring system. That was on July 6th.

15 minutes before the draft isn't the best time to be making changes.

lol true true. Maybe just a reminder at draft time (w/ the draft reminder) that no changes to the settings will be made.

Pretty much, any changes in the last week mess with any kind of prep. Gee, I have prepped for a PPR league that de-emphasizes QB scoring and allows for 4 WR's on game day - - So, yeah, lets make give more points for rushing emphasis and give more points to the passing game. That won't mess with my list.

Did the scoring system change for the Free League? That's sorta not cool to change the scoring system after the draft. If it was a pay league I'd be up in arms big time.

Yeah, it looks like it did: Predraft passing TD's were 4 pts and INT's a -2. I specifically downgraded my QB selection and didn't go after a top qb even though I had the chance. I double checked the scoring about an hour before b/c last year I didn't and discovered the downgraded TD points.

I drafted based on a 4 pt passing TD and -2 INT and 50 pass yards/pt. Would not have settled on Kolb/Bradford as my QB's if the QB position could crank up big points like it can now. It really magnifies the difference between the great, good and mediocre QB's.

Not sure why the changes were made, but I would like the settings to be changed back to what they were pre-draft. Sorry, this really doesn't seem fair.

Matty, it looks like you changed the Money League settings also. I REALLY object to that. Last year, I drafted a QB high, and, b/c I failed to check the settings I did not realize the QB TD's were only 4 points and pass yards 50. This year, I specifically and continually checked the settings pre-draft (last time, I think, less than 3 hours before the draft) to make sure the settings were the same as last year. The changes say they were made two days ago, but I don't recall them being there when I checked pre-draft.

I hate being a dick (really) but, under these settings, no way do I wait until Round 8/9 to choose Kolb/Bradford as my QB's. I had a shot at Brady, Vick, Schaub or Ryan in the second round and, under these settings drafted on of them.

Just yesterday you were upset that people were requesting late changes b/c they failed to check the settings. [I][EDIT: [I]Now[/I] I understand what you were talking about, it confused me b/c I had not received any e-mails and nothing was posted here to indicate that changes at such a late date were even a possibility!! We had had the same damn settings for over a month!!][/I] I DID check the settings[I] [EDIT: I did not check them moments before the draft] [/I]and based my draft research on it. I specifically went for the extra WR in the draft b/c the league was a PPR with a downgraded QB position[I][EDIT: all last year and until at least noonish on the day of the draft][/I] [[I]EDIT: Not only is the QB position up-powered, the yardage settings were changed to give them more value, reducing the PPR aspect of the league][/I]. The settings should be changed back to the pre-draft settings. I checked them regularly and based my draft on them. You were right, last second changes suck and shouldn't happen. Please set them back.

I know Commishing can be a bitch and I appreciate all you do, but, right at this moment, pretty f'ing pissed at the situation.

I request that the settings be changed back to what they were from July (when the invite was set) until noon of August 29th.

I'll have to check again but I thought there was a majority with the votes.

Make sure your email is up to date and you are set to receive league emails. You should receive emails anytime someone posts a message.

I think it's real simple. Once you set up the league you don't change the settings. Changing scoring settings on a FF league so close to or after the draft isn't kosher. I didn't see any discussion anywhere about the scoring for the free league. I don't truly care since it's free but I can see why JR is pissed. Relying on people to know a online discussion is taking place on such an important issue (in a pay league) is rolling the dice big time.
