Likes:
QB play. Rex is a legit starter as I've often said and Clemmons was a nice surprise considering such a limited time in the offense. Beck might have to show a lot to not be 3rd string.
Helu and Hightower ran well and Hightower looked great in blitz pickups.
Defensive front seven and some actual depth on DLine.
Santana Moss looks 5 years younger.

Dislikes:

ILB depth. Fox had way too missed tackles looking for a knockout instead of a tackle.
Horton looked bad tackling as well.
Hankerson. I was really hoping to avoid the Kelly/Thomas scenario with him but it looks like he's a squad player at best.

Of course it's only 1 preseason game.
Oline Oline Oline Oline Oline Oline Oline...huge. Its absolutely amazing what actual blocking will do for an offense.

Dont let any Hatter(s) tell you different, but dropping 452 yards of offense on the well coach, physical Pittsburg Steelers is no small deal. thats effing awesome. Rex was good.

Defense was great with bringing pressure, everything else on d was ok. Kerrigan can flat out play.

We need to get our safeties healthy immediately. We wont survive with those 2 back ups in coverage. Not gonna work.
I was so pumped up watching our line. This is probably our best line since 05

Re: Redskins-Steelers (Preseason) Post-game Thoughts

The offense looked solid - 450 yards, no turnovers, nearly 40 min. time of possession. But, much like last year, only 1 touchdown vs. 5 FG attempts. We need to get into the end zone more.

Defense also looks much better. Didn't like the four play touchdown drive we gave up, however. We played much better than the Steelers in the first half but were tied at halftime.

Off-topic for a second:

Be glad we don't have McDummy anymore. Dude is shitting it up in his Vikings debut.

6/11.....40 yards....3.6avg......62.7 QB rating.

Anything in the 20 and 30's and you can market it as fast for a running back. However the only guys that can get away with being fast and still wearing 40 are safeties.

40's are for Fullbacks and Tight Ends that want to be cool.

Just look at how many 40's there are here.

Lorenzo Neal, Mike Alstott, Tony Richardson, Vontae Leach, Mike Sellers, Lawrence Vickers.

You want to wear a 40 number you have to be a complete bruiser. (see Stephen Davis and Ryan Torain).

Ladell Betts wore 46 and I wouldn't call him a bruiser by any stretch lol.

Once upon a time, Peyton Hillis wore #22...
But he broke out for good while wearing #40.

There are exceptions but lets wait to see if he can beat the Madden curse. Still he broke out as a bruiser so my indestrutible theory is still indestructible. You can't give a guy with 80 yard to the house speed a number in the 40's!
39 is just an odd # to me. I dig the 40s for backs. Riggo, Stephen Davis, etc.
I like Hightower in that #39 jersey and he does remind me of smaller Steven Jackson of the Rams.

Well if you can remember Larry Csonka, he wore #39 for the Dolphins for many years. He was bulldozer in the 1970's but not as fast as Hightower. Tim is a smaller version of Steven Jackson for the Rams.

Something else I liked about our game.

No sacks allowed by our offense!

To the surprise of no one, Shayne Graham kicked himself right off the team.

if Saturday night had counted, Gano would have put the nail in the coffin for the Steelers...and from 45 yards away. Kind of a no brainer here.

No surprise on Shayne getting cut; even as soon as today. Now lets sign Tatupu and see what he brings to the ILB position.

QUESTION! Who are those guys in front of the QB? Are they some new type of Tight End or super big receivers?

Redskins.com needs to hire a new editor or something. Apparently Casey Hampton plays for the colts now
