Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
Bottom line...is Sanchez really any better than JC? No. So if that's the case then why give up draft picks for the guy?

Um, JC's arm strength is very, very good. One of the tops in the league. Most arms aren't as strong as his. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
3 years in the league playing for a conservative OC and defensive minded HC didn't help the "dirty". What the **** does Rex Ryan know about offense? Sanchez is better than what most of you think, if RGIII came out and was available when the Redskins draft turn came, then I would draft him by all means. Chances are none of this happens, how about if the Jets make the playoffs and go deep into it? Would they trade Sanchez? I don't think so, let's wait and see what happens when the season is over before we get all bent up.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
JC career rating is 82, never had a season with more Ints than Tds and had a horrible WR cast around him, Not to mention a Dumb **** GM and Owner. We all talked down on him including myself but he's better than Sanchez is

Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
A guy I chat with in Indy says that if Peyton can play Irsay really wants him to stay, but if Polian stays Manning wants out.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I dunno. If we could trade our second and helu to bring in Sanchez that could leave our first round pick to take Trent Richardson.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
While this wouldn't be my first choice, I wouldn't hate this move. We need a QB and while Sanchez may not be playing to his #5 draft position, he's still in the top half of QB in the league and won't have a learning curve. This would allow us to focus on WR and OL to fix the offense.

I woud rather have blackmon than richardson. If Royster is what they say he is we'd be better off at RB than WR. I think this won't matter. The way Indy is playing they will smoke Jacksonville next week. You know St. Louis will lose out. If Minnesota beats us that leaves St Louis with #1. That means they could trade us the #1 for Andrew Luck. You any of you take THAT gravy train over Sanchez?? |
Sanchez today
1 TD 1 Int 2 fumbles Lol no thanks again SF |

There has to be better options without getting raped.

Oh also add a safety to Sanchez today

Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I get that SS but how much better will he get? Again he's better than Rex ad beck and Mcnabb at his stage w us but is he much better than JC? I don't know about that
I'm not arguing for Sanchez in what follows - I'm not sure how I feel about this rumor. But Sanchez did not have much college experience before he got drafted which, in a sense, makes him more inexperienced than your average 3 year vet. This may lead one to think that he has a much higher ceiling than he may have shown, especially given that he has improved every year. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I wouldn't trade for no more than a 4th rounder for that pos Sanchez. I would rather draft Moore in the 2nd round and have him start.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
My excitement towards this rumor has gotten smaller and smaller as this day has gone on having watched him play. This team is still a year or so away from winning. Give me RGIII or Landry Jones and we can be an 7-9 to 9-7 team next year or better if we can just stay healthy.
I think we can upgrade our receiving corps in FA with a guy like Bowe or VJAX. As much of an enigma as he may appear, I would throw some money at DJAX, because he can completely change a game. With a good young qb, some receivers along with our strong tight end play, we can use the rest of the draft for the O Line and secondary. I also think that a lot of people forget that we have a second round D Lineman in Jarvis Jenkins, who if he can come back strong enough, could be a big upgrade on the line. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I dont like this rumor.
Sanchez is vanilla vanilla vanilla. I'd rather take my chances in the draft. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
But i think Shanahan needs a winning season next year to stay. I could see him get fired with three consecutive losing seasons so he is looking for someone established.

Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
Makes perfect sense, I just think if RG3 comes out and we have an option to move up and get him that's the better move. Giving a 1st for Sanchise would be an epic fail, I could live with a second. I still want to draft a QB this year, the talent even with guys not likely coming out (Barkley, Jones) is still relatively high and still better than last year as a whole. Getting rid of Helu is questionable, and no way in hell Id give up a 2nd and Helu. Helu gone opens another hole, but QB>RB.
So my thoughts as a whole: RG3 > Sanchise, We need to draft a young QB regardless of trade scenario, No way in hell trading a 1st round, Helu in a trade would be disappointing, but Shanny seems to find RBs fairly easy. GTripp gonna hate this.
I couldn't live with giving up a pick for Sanchez, period. The guy is a mediocre qb. |

What many of these fans don't understand is if we fire Shanahan we will be starting all over again. It makes absolutely no sense to fire Shanahan. Us realistic fans realize that thing will take some time to turn around.

Sanchez with Kyle would be different and better, than Sanchez with Shottenheimer. |

Yeah we need to make synder a realistic fan. I could see synder finally giving up hope.

Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I don't like Sanchez. He throws boneheaded interceptions. He did so today against the NYG. A move to Mark Sanchez is not an upgrade in my opinion.

I don't think it's stupid and I'm a very realistic fan.Shanahans not turning anything around, hell he's worse than Zorn! I couldnt watch game, but I read in the post that shanny challenged a call on a Peterson fumble that he was clearly down before ball came out plus we recovered it out of bounds, just another example of why I think shanny just isn't that good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
It is concerning that he's struggled these past two weeks vs NFC East teams. But I don't hate the idea of Sanchez, depending on what we have to give up of course.
Anyhow, it's a long way to the offseason (unfortunately), just telling you guys what I know to this point. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
Sanchez would be a bad move, for real. His career will be similiar to Rex Grossman's.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I'm not really sure what is going on with Sanchez. I don't know the jets well enough to know if the past two years were just the whole team being good IN SPITE of Sanchez, or Sanchez being good enough to make them into a contender.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I do think this team is a solid QB away from being playoff bound. Our defense is solid, and we have 2 WR's that run amazing routes. If we could trade a 2nd for Sanchez, and bring in Blackmon that would be amazing.
|
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
Oh please do not get Sanchez. He is not good, definitely no better than Rex Grossman. Especially if we have to give up picks for him. That would be unbelievably retarded and would lead to Shanahan getting fired and setting this team back another couple years.
If we could somehow get Manning I would love that. If he can make the shitty Colts a contender every year, he could at least do that for us. Right now we have a much better team. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
What does a team have to do with their playbook to accomodate Manning. He obviously won't let Kyle the call plays...

Shanahan inherited a team that was old and not very talented with a lot of bad contracts. His first year he release a lot of veterans and dealt with their huge contracts. In his second year he replaced them with young and talent players that lack experience. He improved our defensive front seven that will be dominated in the coming years. All they need is some time to build chemistry. So far he has had two very good drafts. He's in his third year where he is most likely going to focus on improving our skilled positions. He's building our team to be playoff team for years to come. Not a artificial playoff team that might make it to the playoffs with aging veterans that has two or maybe three good years left. Realistic fans can see that our team was not a player or two away from being in playoff contention. We are a two or three good drafts from being in playoff contention. So far Shanahan has produced very good young players that will factors in turning this organization around. His offense system is a good one. His defensive system is a good one. There is no reason to change things around as long as we are moving in the right direction. If we fire him the only thing we will be doing is turning off any good assistant coach and well known head coach from coming here. Who would want to come here after we fire a legend like Shanahan? No up and coming or former head coach is going to risk ruining their career by coming here. Also we would have to start all over again like we have been doing for the last ten years. Get a brain and realize that sticking with Shanahan is the best course of action at this point. |

Like we need a dirty Sanchez around here what the heck. Have yal watched him play, he is Rex Grossman in a jets uni.

you make some good points while leaving out all the mistakes he made and bad coaching descisions he continues to make. The 100 percent consensus around the NFL is good coach{which i have yet to see}terrible personel guy{which i have seen} Im not saying fire him now if thats what your understanding, but if he produces another 5 or 6 win season next yr then thats a different story. |

Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
It is clear we are in desperate need of a QB. A franchsie Qb. But I am not in favor of giving up a ton of draft picks/our future to get a particular media darling (Luck/RGIII).
In the end it is still a crap shot as to which of the Qb's will star. I am not in favor of firing Shanahan only because I do not want to start all over again. Allen and Shanahan have done some mostly good FO work by improving our offensive line and tearing apart our defense and rebuliing it. They have made mistakes, Josh Wilson for Carlos Rodger for example. But nobody is perfect and all team make some mistakes. We need to stay the course, let Allen/Shanahan finish what they started. At least one more year. I feel we are one great QB, two good CB's, one RB and one WR away from being a playoff team. Compared to when Zorn left, that is not htat much. The teams ahead of us in our division Giants and Dallas are not that much better than us. No need to blow everything up. |
Re: The Big Rumor: If The Colts Take Luck, Then Manning Could Be...
I dont get all the Bradford love.
He really hasnt done squat. Not to mention he's semi damaged goods. |
