Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
it's hard to say which team would be the champion this year . as you know .there are at least three stars on each finals teams.
|
I've tried very hard but I just can't bear watching the spurs. They play great fundamental ball blah blah but are not entertaining IMO. I struggled not falling asleep before halftime.
The Celts Heat, on the other hand, is very entertaining and I could watch that even when the heat were getting blowout by 18 pts. |

Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Poor LeBron losing another big game. Don't fret, the NBA isn't going to allow them to lose this series, so they'll take the next two games for sure. If by chance they do lose, expect Spoelstra to be fired and either Pat Riley or Phil Jackson to take over. It's just like those two guys to roll in with a stack team, win a championship as if their coaching skills were the ones that led them to said championship. BOTH are overrated as hell as coaches but Riley is far superior as a coach than Phil.

I love the fact those guys use team ball and fundamentals to win. You know, like how you are supposed to?? |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
For as much as I complain about the NBA, Im glued to the tv watching both these series. Cant believe Boston's run, Im praying they finish them off. If Miami loses, bye bye Spoelstra...could it be the return of Ron Jeremy Van Gundy to Miami?

Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Let's GO Celtics!

LOL. You think the Heat would let Stan anywhere near that team after Orlando? Let's not even talk about Stan even agreeing to it after what Riley did to him the last time. If he has trouble dealing with a prima donna like Howard, then there is no way in hell he's going to get along with that diva LeBron. |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
I know the popular thing to do is blast LeBron...but it's time to start holding Wade more accountable (and I like Wade).

Wade has a ring and a Championship MVP trophy from that year. He won the title with less talent. Also, LeBron is the better player (as noted by his MVP trophies) so he's going to shoulder more of the blame, especially considering how his time ended in with Cleveland with him tanking that game 5 against Boston. That said, I agree, Wade has to play (shoot) better as well, but I think what really kills them is the quality of players surrounding them. They have all that money tied up into 3 players, it's killed any type of chances of getting quality help on that team. |

I really dont think either are playing bad, but criticism comes along with job. Their supporting cast is weak, and Chris Bosh is vastly over rated. They need a better PG. But to me their biggest problem is their attitude and play when facing adversity. Its a reflection of leadership on the team by Bosh, Wade, Lebron and their coaching staff. They look lost and frankly like little bitches when they face a pivotal points in the game. |

i think its leaguewide, thats one of my problems with the NBA these days, the others ive notice: teambuilding ie:Amare Stoudamire's comment the day after he season ends "how he love to see Steve Nash on the Knicks. NY loves Steve Nash" and the other problem: game strategy built around taking Charges on the defensive end. Its become laughable how lame this is, when you see a player driving to the hoop someone slides overs and raises their hands...i mean come on, go for the ball. The flopping and the refs posing to make the call to build some sort suspense "oh is it gonna be a block or a charge"....yeah so ****ing exciting. I mean the influence of Duke basketball is amazing, effing Coach K. |

Lol no doubt. They have no heart. Every 50/50 ball went to Boston. Not hustling back on D repeatedly in such an important game? Head scratching... And what the heck is Spoelstra thinking leaving Bosh on the bench?? Not fair? Huh? Especially with KG eating them for lunch? Miami has a plethora of problems, and they're all above the shoulders IMO. |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Talent's not the problem, with or without a perceived supporting cast. If you've got the best player in the game, an arguably top 5 player and a top 15 (Bosh is not overrated... I'd venture to say he's been consistent after a rocky start a few years ago when figuring how how to fit), the collection is way more than enough to get it done. Haslem had 17 boards last night, Chalmers knows how to knock down a 3 and Battier is the glue guy.
Like others have said, the chemistry is off. Defense was their bread and butter during the season, but they're no longer communicating in the fourth. Their offense becomes pass Wade/Lebron the ball when there's 7 seconds left on the shot clock and let's play ISO. It's like the lights seem to diminish their will in crunch time. If they manage to pull it together in Boston, they can still get to the Finals. LeBron is still the best all around player on the planet. (I do think Durantula has taken the crown as most clutch). |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Here's hoping the Heat choke and Lebron is ring-less another year. I think it'd be hilarious if he went his entire career and never won a championship. Unfortunately, I feel like its all just a matter of time before the Heat take it all. But I still feel like Lebron is the NBA version of Romo; constantly choking under pressure.

James is the best player in basketball, and I honestly don't know what more he can do? 30 Ppg 12 rebounds and 8 asst a night! That being said I lost mad respect for him with his whole decision shit so I'm going for Boston as well. |

I was a huge fan of Lebron's up until then. But I'm hoping the Celtics or OKC wins. |

Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
OKC looks unstoppable. They've just dispatched the past 3 WC champs in one playoff run. This looks to be a dynasty (assuming they can re-sign both Harden and Ibaka).
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
THUNDER UP!!!!!!! Time for the finals cant wait!
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
OKC vs BOS would be a good matchup with IMO OKC coming out on top.
I just have a sinking feeling that the BOS/MIA series is going to end like the 2010 finals for the C's. |

It wasn't the best decision (no pun intended), but it doesn't really change my opinion of him. He's a good person and a great player |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
He's a good person ..........
That is very debatable. His reputation went much further and deeper than "The Decision." He was almost kicked off the Olympic squad. So I guess our definition of a "good person" must differ vastly. Having some teenage kid manage you that has no experience with high profile athletes was a pretty stupid idea. Still is stupid. |

Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
I almost think a MIA-OKC finals would be a bit more interesting to watch than Boston... call me crazy, but I think OKC would annihilate Boston. Miami's length on defense matches up better than Boston's interior... The Celtics would have a tougher time stopping OKC's slashers.
Regardless, there's no stopping the Thunder this year. |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Boston isn't going to win tonight, and I seriously doubt they'll take a game 7 in Miami.
|
So my 2010 Finals predicton seems spot on now. Sucks end of a era in Boston. I am sad to see it end. No way they win in MIA.
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Boston failed anyway they are old now
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Garnett has been the key for Boston the entire playoffs...he needs to bounce back with a solid game, and Doc needs to get him involved earlier in the offense.
Lebron reached back to his Cleveland years, and had one of those Jordan-esq games. |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
I still hate LBJ, but I gotta give him his due, he stepped up when the Heat needed it most, and now it's a win and move on scenario.
|
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Time to blow it up, Boston.

Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
im actually really hyped for this final. Even though i was pulling for Celtics over the heat...this is the better match up.
Lebron or Durant will be getting a ring, which is a pretty bigh deal |
Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Westbrook is so overrated. OKC wins in spite of him, not really because of him. He more than often shoots a horrible % and quite often shoots more than the best offensive player in the NBA. (durant) Not what you want or need from a PG.

He's frustrating believe me but he's not overrated, guy avgs a double double almost and is the best rebounding pg by far in the NBA. Also remember he was never a PG in college so he's still adjusting |

I seriously can not stand when people pull sh*t out of their ass that is not even fawking true. He is not even the best Reb PG in the NBA never mind by far. Re: 2012 NBA Playoffs
Want to preface this by saying i dont know anything about the NBA, or pro bball. However, The Thunder is (are?) my faviort team, although before the playoffs i maybe watched 1 of their games. After Maynor, Durant is my faviort player.
i thought this was a good read: Kevin Durant: Passive aggressive superstar scoring machine - CBSSports.com Mike and Mike this morning were (was?) talking about the thunder being 25-5 when Westbrook shoots more then Durant this season. And that Westbrook was 50% last night in the 4th quarter, i think simular to Durant. I really like that its not all on Durant, like it often is with Kobe or was with Lebron in Clevland. Sure Durant is the best or second best player but he makes his team better by not doing everything but by facilitating everything. The Thunder looked like a young team in game 1 and even younger in game 2. But i think that theres no big egos on the team and they all do what the coach says. I think the current setup with Westbook and Durant is fine. It would be nice if the Thunder could show some poise early in these games and start off faster but otherwise i think theyre playing good. |
