Wasn't a stroke, was it?[/quote] I think it came from a bad reaction to medication I take for my cholesterol. I have had minor reactions to it before, but these reactions were said to be pretty normal and that people usually will take it before bed to sleep them off. I had been taking the meds for a few years now, and never had an issue with it. However, this one morning, the reactions were intensified and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. I had all the tests done: CT Scan, blood work, MRI....everything came out OK. Thank God it wasn't a stroke. Believe me, when my wife was helping me up, I looked at myself in the mirror and saw my face all puffed out and swollen, I thought I had suffered a stroke, but it was just a side effect of the Niaspan. Needless to say, the doc took me off of the meds, but I'm still recovering from the concussion. I'll tell ya, I have a whole new respect for these NFL players who sustain concussions. It really does disable you for a certain period of time. I couldn't drive, could barely walk on my own, couldn't look at a computer screen for more than 15 minutes....I just felt helpless! |
