re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
It honestly seems like people are waiting for RG3 to get hurt not play and the Redskins not make the playoffs. After that those are the pople who will say he is a bust. Hegets no glory for all the sweat and tears and licks he has taken. He took those licks to go to the playoffs, not sit at home. If the Redskins don't go to the playoffs RG3 deserves to be on the field. The outcome of all his studying and hard work would be determined by Cousins. That would not be fair to RG3. If he can go then let him go.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
I tend to believe Garcon at this point, but I'm quite sure he didn't think about spilling the beans. I'm sure he got a phone call from Mike in regards to leaking any plans during the week again.
No need to rush him back unless he's given a clearance by the medical staff. The last thing we need is for a weakened knee to be blown out. Not only will this season be lost, but next seasons will be as well. |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
To much at stake here. Start Cousins.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
I found it odd that in such an important play off rush, Pierre was on t.v. and radio all day long. Not that i'm mad/angry/think he's lazy/heads not on his shoulders, but I just that it peculiar.
RGIII sits this week, plays next. |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Tuesday is mandatory day off I think even under CBA
|
Griffin won't miss, He's to competitive.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
With absolutely no insight on the extent of the injury, what he is able to do on the field, whether he can plant, run, jump or spin I am a fan of going all in with Cousins this week - 100% of the 1st team reps and start him. If RG3 is able to dress and come in off the bench as a last resort - great. Otherwise I think this team can beat the Browns without him. Of course it will take a complete effort all around, but it is doable.
That said, if RG3 is >79% - he better start. |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Who do you all trust more; Garcon who is on the team and in all the offense meetings, Or Robert Griffins father?
|
We showcase Cousins to the league.
We win. We grow as a TEAM. Griff gets rested and healthy. Win, win, win, win. HTTR |
I got the impression from PG that he was giving the typical answer...."we are preparing for Cousins to start until we are told otherwise".

Since they haven't had any team meetings, practices or work since Sunday and he said he hadn't spoken to RGIII since Sunday, I'll roll with Pops. |

Monday? Edit: not sayin i think Garcon knows anything or Pops for that matter. Just was wondering if we had film sessions or meetings on Monday. |

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
It's very doubtful Garçon knows anything.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
If he can move inside the pocket and throw he should be on the field. This game is simply too important to have our best qb on the bench if he is able.

Quoted for post strength equivalent to that of the ligament in question. |

I trust he person at the doctor with him. I trust the first person he called after the MRI. Garcon was in Bristol. RG2 was with RG3 supporting his dream. |

I trust the doctors more. A lot of people I know are basing if RG3 will play off of his actions after his injury on Sun. When his adrenalin was high and he probably felt less pain. The doctors didn't feel much movement in the knee so they let him go back out (most likely bad idea at the time) and RG3 ended up having to come off the field a second time. MRI showed no tissue damage which is great but that does not mean RG3 can run, scramble to avoid pressure from a defense, and clearly it hurt him when planting his foot to throw. |

From what I've heard, Griff has a bit of a limp this morning but otherwise seems ok

I have had a strained MCL before, and the Doc told me that there was no risk of future damage just by working on it. That it would require a "new injury" for it to get worse. Is that true with LCL's as well? If so then its a pain tolerance issue. If the LCL can get worse by simply playing on it, then they need him to be fully healed before putting him back out there. |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
From what I heard RGIII was hopping on one leg and making cuts better then C Cooley.

A bit of a limp is pretty good considering we are almost at 72 hours removed from the injury and we still have around 96 hours before game time. |

LOL! Post of the week! I have friends who are browns fans. I want RGIII to start so i can say the same thing i said to my Giants, Eagles, and Cowboys fans after those wins - "you just got Griffined! Get used to it." Of couse, i'd have to cut out the second part for the Browns fans... still, "you got griffined" sounds much better than "you got Cousined!" |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Cleveland is ranked 23rd in total defense through 13 games this season. Whether RG3 starts or whether Kirk Cousins start, this is a game where our quarterback can have a bit of success. The Browns are simply not that good defensively. Add in the running of Alfred Morris and this Redskins offense can explode. I would rather Griffin III sit out this game and comeback healthier against Philadelphia. Cousins is capable of having a great game against this weak Cleveland Browns secondary.

Cleveland has a sneaky decent defense and has played well recently. Normally I'd say this was a classic trap game for us but with the RGKnee injury hopefully it has the team more focused on preparing. |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
I could seeing us winning by 14 even if Cousins starts. Team's playing with sky high confidence right now.

Cleveland has a very good offense, great OL 2 Pro-bowlers (Mack & Thomas), great RB Richardson, good QB in Weeden and some nice young receivers in Gordon, Little and TE Jordan, their D is not too shabby either. It's going to be a tough game. |

It will be a tough game, though I think their receivers are okay. Earlier in the season they were dropping balls left and right. I'm more concerned about the Browns D. |

Their very good offense is ranked 26th in total yardage, and putting up a whopping 19.9 pts a game. |
re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
RG3 seen jogging on the field before practice. No one so him plant or cut.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Also hearing, RG was doing leg lifts, stretches. shuffle steps. Had no visible leg brace over his sweat pants.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
Sounds like he'll be playing. "threw a pass behind his back"

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
wow, thats excellent news. If he does play, i see us putting up an early lead and being able to rely on Morris to run the ball more, which should lessen the likelihood RGIII has to drop back and have to scramble when our o-line can't protect him. Honestly, i think we could win this game with only 15 or so pass attempts if RGIII is our QB. Morris cant be stopped when taking snaps from the pistol (when teams are worried about RGIII running or throwing).
If cousins starts, i see the Browns being more effective stopping the run, forcing Cousins to drop back and throw more, which, with our o-line pass protecting issues, is not good for us. The more i think about it, i want RGIII to play, even if he's not 100%. |

I wonder if RG3 can go to the bathroom w/out the media reporting on it.

re: Update: Kirk Cousins to Start vs Browns
RG and Cousins will speak to media at 1:45. Not sure if it's a joint deal or not.
