Source: Eagles interested in Danny Amendola | Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia
kinda surprised this much competition for a guy who only played in 12 total games the last 2 years. He wants 6 mil a year. I hope he does go to the Eagles. |
He's just a average WR IMO
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Amendola is a good to very good slot WR. His biggest problems are (1) He is at his best out of a 3 WR set - that not to say he is a "No. 3 WR", he is a slightly better than average WR in a 2 WR set but, in a 3 WR set, he excels; and (2) injuries. He is constantly banged up.
He's one of those guys who, if he were playing for a contender, you would hear about regularly. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
When healthy Amendola is a beast. And he tore up our defense last year.
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Yeah, people throwing stones at Amendola, but he destroyed us.

Cowboys are still 6 mill over the cap. Don't think they are in a position to be after anyone right now. |

according to bucsnation, the buccaneers version of hogshaven, says they are highly pursuing derek cox who i know we have been linked to.

Percy Harvin is officially a Seahawk according to Jay Glazer
|
Seattle is the favorite now IMO

Seattle has a hell of a squad right now. Lots of toys

Last time Seahawks traded for a WR and gave him a big contract, it didn't work out so well for them. (Branch) I expect the same here. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Like someone said on twitter, if Harvin couldn't get along with Leslie Frazier who is considered one of the most nice people in football...
Also Victor Cruz to Minnesota (thats my bold prediction) |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Healthy, focused Harvin is a playmaker and can attack a defense in a lot of different ways.
Injured, head-case Harvin is a pain in the patootie that sulks on the bench. Maybe the change of scenery will do him good. Carroll's "rah rah" approach will either resonate with Harvin or drive him off the deep end. I don't see a middle ground. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Harvin is a good player but not worth the first round pick that Seattle gave up. IMO Vikes get the value in that deal.
|

Not sure they gave up a first rounder. I sure wouldn't. |

According to the ESPN article they are. It reeks of the Cowboys/Roy Williams trade with the Lions. Like I said, The Hawks already got burnt once before sending a 1st to the Patriots and signing a huge deal for Deion Branch. Guess they didn't learn anything from that or from the Cowboys. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
wow. No way Harvin is worth a 1st. Maybe... MAYBE a second. I wouldn't have gone higher than a 3rd.
But then, that's why they make the big bucks. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
I hate Sherman and the Seahawks, but if Harvin stays healthy (big if) then the Seahawks may have gotten a good deal - depending on what else was given to the Vikings in addition to the 2013 first rounder. I think this would be what the Seahawks would have given up for Tavon Austin in the draft. Tavon Austin is described as a smaller, weaker Harvin.
Of course, Harvin comes with a lot of red flags. It's a high risk, high reward deal. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Anquan Boldin to the 49ers for a 6th round pick.
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Think about this, the next time Harvin makes it through an entire season without missing games... will be the first time.

Link? That's pretty big. Not the guy he was 3 years ago, but still a beast at crunch time. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
As @RavensInsider insider reported, WR Anquan Boldin traded to 49ers for a sixth-round pick. WRs piling up in NFC West. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Anquan Boldin needs to pass physical before trade with 49ers becomes complete; he's in Africa on mission. Physical, trade completion await. |

FWI, I'd be looking for twitter confirms from reputable sources..."links" are quickly becoming outdated. At least with breaking news.

Anquan Boldin for a sixth rounder -- what??? What is this - a family discount between the Harbaughs?

He's a 32 year old WR who hasn't gone over 1,000 yards since 2009. Still a good player but not a superstar. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Whata move by the 49ers. Boldin is perfect receiver to go against the physical CBs in Seattle. Those CB wont be able to push Boldin around, advantage 49ers.
Exciting to see the arms race to day in the West. Percy Harvin is an excellent move by Seattle as well. Couldnt have gotten a better receiver where they were in the first round. |

Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson on Harvin trade:
The best all around player I ever seen or you'll ever see! Goes to Seattle! I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach. Several times!!! At least we all know that Peterson will recover quickly from getting kicked in the stomach. |
