I hope everything is OK with Jordan Reed's foot, would suck to have a significant injury before the season even started.

I heard the first hour or so. They were both raving about RG3 saying how well he was moving around. Interviews with Kerrigan, Bruce Allen, and Garcon were good. Kirwan was talking up guys like Riley and Morris. They were also impressed with Fred Davis.

Guy at work said Fred Davis looks amazing...he is just ripped and was running past everyone. Nobody could cover him.

I think the Reed pick and contract year has him motivated. Im expecting big numbers and I think he gets an extention.

Im going down today to camp and Saturday...getting psyched

You guys all knew this was all going to happen with Griffin eventually. Wait and see how antsy he is around the 3rd preseason game. Shannahan is doing the right thing. Griffin will get more and more pissed, but he will be healthy Septemeber 9th and that's all that matters. Honestly what little footage of RG3 I have seen, I think he is still favoring that knee some to me. Maybe its the brace, but still.

I'm going to the Redskins@Titans game this Thursday and I hope to see RG3 throwing it around a bit before the game. Maybe I will feel different after I actually see him, but you know he will be antsy after the other guys play for 60 mins and he is just watching.

Well they're not even letting him do 11 on 11. That's laughable to me. He wants to be out there and I don't blame him. What he's doing now isn't getting him ready for Philly. There's plenty of time but with no pre season game action, they need to start letting him do more in practice.

I think they should let him do some 11-11 drills but I'm all for no PS games

Griffin needs to stay patient. Phase 2 of the plan is supposed to be in place this week. Shanahan is smart by not rushing things. He's still not even a full 7 months post surgery.

I don't want his competitive drive to rush his recovery either. I envy his commitment, but he needs to show down. He has a month before the season and should make sure he doesn't suffer any setbacks, especially self-imposed.

Snyder, Allen and Shanahan all seem to realize the important of protecting the team's investment long-term.

I just hope Robert remembers to protect himself in the heat of the battle. Slide, kid, SLIDE!

About the only way 11 on 11 would be dangerous is if a defender came running through the line and got pushed or shoved into Robert's legs or feet. You know the Defensive guys will hold up and not hit Griffin, but what Shannahan is protecting against is the "falling bodies" 11 on 11 might be good for Robert because he will have to scramble some and what he does during that time will prove if he has learned to protect himself. He still won't get hit, but does he run out of bounds, slide, dive? And again there will be "falling bodies".

Again....it's football. Shit happens. The world will go on if RG3 has a set back. lol. But I understand what Shanahan is doing, even if I don't agree with it.

No need to push the issue with a guy who isn't even 7 months post major surgery and had no offseason work.

Besides, from the sound of things he'll probably start getting 11 on 11 work this week.

Yes. It seems that the plan is to give him 11-on-11 work after the Titans game, which is the day after tomorrow. Woohoo, two days until we see the Skins on the field again! :food-smil (I know it's a lame preseason game, but that still beats the nothingness of the offseason).

I don't get the push to see RG practice harder or get more reps, whether it's coming from him, the media or fans? We know what the kid can do. He's a phenom. Health, rehab and protecting his longevity are key IMO. Definitely want to see him get really comfortable planting on that leg, but again he doesn't need to run a million drills to get totally comfortable throwing the pigskin to his receivers.

Re: Redskins Training Camp Thread 2.0

The season is a long, tough slog. We need RGIII to be feeling good in January. From this point of view, it makes no sense to push him too hard in August even if he weren't hurt.

Yeah pre season sucks but it's better than nothing. I'm excited to see some of our young guys get out there and ball. For the first time in a long time it finally looks like we're actually building a team that can take a run at the Super Bowl.

Hint to guys on the roster bubble - How to quickly find yourself off the roster: Rouch RGIII during an 11 on 11 drill.

Love the tidbit on Helu. Fingers crossed he stays healthy and can be our change of pace RB to Morris.

I've rooted hard for Helu ever since going to the Seattle a couple years ago when he ran like an all pro. Anybody remember it?

Awesome can't wait for his obvious camp report being obvious.

He needs to stay behind a keyboard and away from the camera thus camp reports are painful and useless.

I don't even have a problem with RG3 being eager. It's just the way he's wired. It's a big part of what makes him great.

It was funny because King peacocked himself walking down the fan side to let everyone know he had arrived.

Great thing about camp: 1. awesome for kids 2. cool to be that close to the team running plays, your literally right on the field with them divided only by a yellow rope 3. Milfs, really good selection

Grinding gears about camp: 1. People who go and talk about work with their buddy from work all day not watching the practice. 2. Adults who arrive 45 mins after it begins, stand behind you and complain they cant see

The little bit I saw of Lance Lewis and Jawan Jamison have been fairly impressive. Jamison no-so-great in his pass blocking (which I thought was a strength), but the man has the one cut and go that Morris has.

Yeah, I was there, too. It was looking like a cold, wet, miserable loss until he broke left and hurdled one of the Seahawks d-backs.

His Auntie kept yelling "Junior!" about 2 seats away from me, just behind the Redskins bench. Good times!
