Pie is the food of the gods (except Mincemeat and Strawberry Rhubarb, of course).
What's wrong with strawberry rhubarb pie? I'd take that any day over anything with lemon or lime in it. I do, however, agree with you on the mincemeat...can a name be any worse for a dessert?

I don't mean to take this off-topic, but what ever happened to Butter Brickle ice cream? That stuff kicks all forms of ass.
Pie #5 on my list, TAFKAS. Key Lime is good, but it's not a three-slicer like apple, or the vastly under-rated Coconut Custard.

I think if you can't eat three pieces of a pie before shame takes over, it can't be on the top of the list.
Coconut Custard rules.

Few know that the old Zeppelin tune "Custard Pie" was originally "Coconut Custard Pie".... legend has it, Bonham even had a full drumset custom-made using coconut shells of various sizes-- and he played them with four sticks.

From what I've heard, Plant decided to scrap the word "coconut" because it detracted from the sexual connotation of "custard pie". In my humble opinion, he could've actually enhanced the inuendo-- and kept the culinary fantasy intact-- by simply changing it to "Coconuts and Custard Pie".

I knew I could take this thread back where it belongs: sexual pie references.

Any topic/thread that uses "potential" and "arm strength" and "our guy" in relation to pathetic Patrick Ramsey.

Spurrier was my vote

For all that we can say bad about the guy. He tried to do his thing for 2 seasons, realized it wasn't going to work, and was smart enough to move on and get out of the way. Oddly enough we talk about the need for a deep game now that he's gone when that was all he was trying to do.

just about any type of dessert pie is good...especially a la mode

sick and tired of hearing about how Snyder is ruining the Redskins...we all know that already, stop beating a dead horse...

1776 huh...have to remember that when all the restaurants up and down Route 1 are full, to sneak in there for a bite and that cheesecake brulee

and i haven't had butter brickle ice cream in forever...one of my other all time faves is Tin Roof

brud, you a big seafood guy? we usually go to Lazy Susan's for crabs, but if you know of a better place, please share.

For crabs, Lazy Susan's or Ed's in Dewey Beach. For other seafood, the Big Fish Grill in Rehoboth or Fish On! in Lewes are fantastic - and owned by Skins fans (the Big Fish guy is where I get my tickets).

I don't know how he does it, but Daseal is like the most powerful person on this board. He singlehandedly keeps that damn topic of Spurrier alive

Wow, now we're debating the answer to Question 3 (please use appropriate capitalization) here?! Cool.

By the way, I thought Malcom was the answer to Question 3.

How about the single-serving style lemon pies that come in the wax paper wrappers, that you can buy from 7-11 or most gas-station convenience stores? Those are mmm-mmm-good! And they fit even my budget! I just can't remember their branding...

My vote goes to all talk debating whether the Skins lack of wins last season was due to poor play-calling or poor execution... arrgggh!

2000 free agency definitely. So sick of hearing about it. Sports writers will never let that go. the redskins will be the model for how to f-ck up free agency forever becasue of that offseason...

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

It's not a topic per se, but doesn't anyone else get tired of all the negativity? The offense wasn't good last year, particularly the first half of the year. We all know that. But why the assumption some people seem to have that it will never get better? Or that Gibbs has lost it forever?

I know, I know...just "keeping it real" right?

crlesh 03-22-2005 12:49 PM

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

You're right, ﺶ, the negativity is tedious, but it will all just make the eventual victory season that much more glorious. The only problem I have with the negativity is the worry that players/coaches might listen to it and believe it, instead of taking it for what it is - frustration.

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

Spurrier

He's irrelevant to us for next season -- the other subjects all have some carry-over effect. Not to mention the fact that there was no error in judgment in hiring Spurrier (it didn't work out, but I am not aware of anyone that thought it wouldn't when he was signed). Not true with the other subjects.

:frusty:

I'm definitely tired of the negativity. Especially from those who choose to criticize Gibbs, and they don't know crap about what he did for us fans. Theres a reason why we follow and believe in Gibbs. So don't bash us for believing in someone who has proven that he's a winner.

TheMalcolmConnection 03-22-2005 01:29 PM

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

Most definitely. Last year's over. Yes, we were disappointed but there was a HUGE silver lining to this season. We started building something for the future that is going to be bigger than any huge free agent signing we've had in the past 10 years.

Ding ding ding! Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner! All negativity should be banished. Wonder if Matty can install something to weed it out.

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

Pies.......mmmmmm!!! <--best topic ever!!!
My Mom's Pumpkin Chiffon (sp?) pie is the best....a little lighter and much tastier than regular pumpkin pie...

Sick of: All of the above, especially...

A. Spurrier. He is gone because he chose to be. Most people were willing to give him 3 years, but he QUIT. Move on...he has!
B. The 2000 offseason was a failure, but I specifically remember the same critics that now (still) bash Snyder for it, predicting the Skins to the Superbowl or at least close to it that year. Get over it, Snyder has (meaning he learned from it and has moved on).
C. Talk of Tim Hasselbeck as the starter and better than Ramsey. He's a great #3 QB, decent #2, but that's about it...come on...

Basically anything that doesn't have a direct effect on this coming season. Yeah, I'm sick of hearing about Coles, Pierce, Smoot, etc, too but that actually affects what the Redskins are doing NOW, not two or three, or five years ago.

Endzone

TheMalcolmConnection 03-22-2005 03:47 PM

Re: Topic You Wish Would Go Away

With that reasoning, you could also say that about Patten... I think he had 8-9 touchdowns and touched the ball many times less than Coles.

I won't get into another "Bash Coles" discussion... I'm just sayin'. :)
