Possibly, I don't really know what the Bears will do with Cutler

They've got to franchise him, draft a QB, and ride cutler for one more year, right? Seems logical.

By the time he goes to another team he'll likely be broken down and milking his last contract.

Wondering if Shanny could get the boot after another loss or two?? Seems like when a coach goes down mid-season (Kubiak) other teams follow.
How was Gary Kubiak with Shanny record wise as the OC?
Mike Shanahan's regular season record in Denver was 138-86; with a postseason record of 8-5. With Gary Kubiak, Shanahan's regular season record was 114-62. One interesting note: Kubiak left in 2005 and that was the last year Shanahan made the playoffs in Denver.

And by the way, I never claimed to be good at math, even simple addition and subtraction. Those win-loss numbers might be wrong.

Re: Around the NFL week 14

It baffles me, similar to the mystery of creation, a pro football franchise would want Kyle Shanahan as an HC. Compared to coordinators also considered as potential HC's Kyle's performance is somewhere between amorphous and flat fucking terrible. Amorphous because like others have rightly pointed out nobody really knows who's responsible for what in this offense, but at the same time it's terrible because he can't produce a pro level passing attack to save his life.

The Shanahans is the most inconsistent, undisciplined and predictable offense I've watched all season (and the previous 3 seasons). There's yards but NEVER points when they actually count. And the yards are mostly between the 20's or in garbage time.

Again it just amazes me this is worthy of pro football. Pretty sad IMO. I still believe in the overall product but just have to accept factors like legacy coaches and a handful of really inept franchises explain the Shanahan phenomenon.

Re: Around the NFL week 14

I guess I'll be shocked if the franchise sticks with Shanahan. Probably unwise to expect it because I thought Dan/Bruce had more than enough reasons to move on after '11 and here we are two years later and seeing the exact same things: horrible defense and an offense that sputters and stalls when the opposing defense is above average. Along with poor playcalling, poor discipline and preparedness. I mean, what kind gdamn moron after four years of being/doing the same thing it'll suddenly turn around? Same guy who wins a hand on the river and thinks he outsmarted everyone.

The same type of moron that changes the coaches every 2 or 3 years. I am not advocating keeping Shanny, but don't blame Synder for the crappy play that goes on the coaching staff. We all wanted him to stay out of these matters and he has, we cant have it both ways. He has kept his distance and let the football people handle things and if after this season he wants to move then so be it.

Mostly I mock him b/c it's easy. He's a one trick pony. All Shanahan hate all the time. I'm on his ignore list anyway which is fine by me.

All good points, with possible exception three years is probably enough time for a quality coach to get his house in order, especially the discipline and preparedness factors for both players and coaches.

I still think we knew everything after year two that we know today.

It always seems to be the Patriots that have calls decide games, NO, NYJ, CAR, and now Cleveland. I'm sure there were others as well but those were the late calls that I can remember.
