seriously, why are some people so hyped on a guy that came in 3rd place for our #3 RB spot. he's not a guy that'll affect the W/L column in any meaningful way. he'll be on someone's PS this year and try to prove he has more than just speed next preseason.

Well 31 other teams passed on Seastrunk and we don't even want him on the PS, so clearly there are issues that are not immediately apparent just from watching the pre-season games.

No. I am arguing that speed alone does not equal an NFL talent.

While it's true you can't coach speed, they are several other esential qualities that can't be coached either and he, apparently, is lacking in those.

Keim on twitter said Skins changed mind on Lache at last second about adding him to practice squad, so it looks like we will move on from him. Nobody claimed him to roster soooo. We still got a spot open, maybe thought the WR from Southern could be added.

If Lache is not our guy then I look forward to the day when we do add a scat back. Having speed in the backfield really adds dynamism to an offense.

Plenty of guys out there are fast, but Seastrunk clearly needs work in other key areas and that's what's keeping him off a roster. Pass pro, running routes, special teams, etc. All those areas are hard to ignore.

I agree that I have wanted that type of back, and every time Sproles came available I was first in line saying get him!

That said, the Skins have a lot of speed on this offense, so it isn't like that is the missing piece in this offense, and pass pro especially chipping to help the weaker right side is going to be a far more valuable skill toward keeping this offense moving.

Not that my world is ending, but I would like to know the gossip of why they wouldn't even offer a PS spot. I mean really? It means they found out something about him that they feel makes it worth not even spending a meaningless PS spot on. He should be the type of person that screams practice squad. Was it attitude or something?

Maybe he's holding out for a roster spot or better situation elsewhere.

Our maybe the fans view of him simply doesn't match up with the coaches who worked with him up close and personal all spring and summer.

Well rumor has it that RGIII was jealous of his explosive speed, and that he was going to have his dad spread vicious rumors about how Lache was going around saying he wanted us playing screen passes. But that's just a rumor.

Reading some twitter posts saying he had an attitude problem on top of his short comings as a RB. Possible clashes with Gruden and other rookies.

I think Thompson could be that guy. Straight line he is just as fast as Seastrunk and is a better pass catcher. I think that's why we offered him the PS spot instead. Thompson also has some albeit little pro experience returning kicks. I think by seasons end we will see some Thompson wrinkle his way in to the offense.

Thompson's straight line speed is a little slower than Seastrunk. Seastrunk has that next level that's hard to find. That's the only reason Seastrunk was drafted, speed, nothing else. And as of right now that's all he has and that's why he's not here.

Thompson has proven he can play RB in the NFL, only problem is he has to stay healthy, which he hasn't been able to do. It just goes to show how consistent his game is when he is out there and how bad the coaches want him out there. Hopefully he can prove his ability to stay healthy and he can have an impact this year.

I stand by my same speed take. Seastrunk is fast but he did run a 4.5 40, but again to me speed wise they are at worst equal

Thompson also hasn't impressed but he got the nod on the practice squad over Seastrunk....plus Thompson can't stay healthy.....Seastrunk should have taken Thompson's place on the practice squad since he had shown more..

Chaz Sutton and Tevita Stevens were released from the practice squad and replaced with OLB Jackson Jeffcoat and OL Braxston Cave.

Little disappointed Sutton was released, but signing a former Longhorn isn't a bad move. :D
