Re: Around the NFL: week 4

I always knew that RGIII and Kaepernick were not going to last. Every ten years or so we get told by the NFL that [Young Running QB X] IS TOTALLY GOING TO CHANGE THE POSITION FOREVAH!!11! and they always either flameout or get injured.

It's a drop-back passing game in the pros and it always will be. The cutesy college offenses might work for a year or so, but the defense always figures them out. Even at the most recent high-water mark for mobile read-option QBs, 2012, guess who won the Super Bowl? Joe Flacco, an extremely typical, pro-style, dropback passer.

Even Russell Wilson--who I really like--can only do what he does because of Seattle's beast of a defense, and because he's smart enough to know when to run out of bounds. I think if he was drafted by you guys in '12 your situation today wouldn't be much different.
Disagree. Baalke is as good as Scot McC as a GM and will get that team winning next year. He needs to do what Washington did, bench Kap. Their RT will be back next year, need a QB, some WR and CB's.
Sorry - I disagree. I will not say they won't be back in a few years, but no time soon. I do not care how good Baalke is, they have lost a lot of talent.

Plus they are in the most difficult division. Seattle and Arizonia are going to be good for a while. If the Ram got a HC and QB, they could be scary good.

He said he doesn't believe in Kirk Cousins, that he's too inconsistent, and that the Redskins wins are flukes.

If he stays in a WCO, he will be ok. Hes not great but is good with this type of system since he can do a 3 or 5 step drop and release it quick. Main problem is the turnovers. He has moved the offense, even in his early years, he just throws to many ints.

As for flukes, we flat out dominated the rams, nothing flukey about that one. It shouldnt have been as close as it was. The eagles just suck, cant call anyone beating them a fluke. If we had a safety that played over the top better, it would have never been a game. Culliver was hurt and playing slow all game due to his knee. Either our safety or DC (not sure if he was supposed to be there but in a one deep, he should be playing deep middle and help double the deep balls so assume it was Trenton Robinson making the mistakes) needs to realize that and give him help on those deep balls.

Oh I definetely think you guys should stick with Cousins. Even though as you said he'll probably never be great, he's good in the right system.

What's more, as someone who followed him at Michigan State he is an extremely high-character guy. You will never have any personal/locker room drama or integrity issues with Cousins. None. And that's a very good thing in a major market like DC especially.

He also asked why they were even talking about the redskins. When he realized is was a serious question and he had to have a reason for being an ass. He said he doesn't believe in Kirk Cousins.

Well seeing what SF still has talent wise today, they will be ok. That team was stacked talent wise and still is!! If they had a QB when Harbaugh was here they could have won 2 SB's.

Exactly...I gotta agree with Harrison. Far from a consistent team and need to play better on the road.

Meanwhile, let's go saints!

Sf I said kap was bad 3 years ago and it looks like it was a true statement.

Chico no doubt if we go down to Atlanta next week and pull the upset I'll drink the kool aid heavy but if we get embarrassed I'll stick to what I've said 7 wins max

He looked like he has something left in the tank in that TD drive. The problem with the Saints is that they have a horrible defense led by the most overrated d-coord in the league (Rob Ryan). Also, they need better pass catchers.

By the way after 4 weeks of play, Cousins is ranked #7 in passing. People under estimate and doubt him, that's ok.

I was surprised how much the south is about college ball vs nfl. It was like the NFL was some acutramante. Cool thing is there's a skins bar right in the French quarter. Maybe only a handful of other teams have an

Nah, they are on speaking terms. It was some dumbass report a few weeks ago. I don't think they've ever been "best buds" according to SS, and I would imagine that much of that has to do with RG3's insecurity.

You know they just had that type of preseason where the ball didnt hit the ground. what could go wrong?

Kinda like the Eagles, they looked unstoppable until real football begun. Eagles message boards are pure gold right now, just a month ago Chip was the best HC in the league, now he needs to be fired.
