Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
that was a quote from him after he effed up the skins-giants game a few years ago when the side judge, marker and chains all indicated 1 st down but he had it as 3rd but didnt bother correcting anybody.
that clock error could have been huge if the bucs had retained the ball and lovie had the heads up to rush his FG out there and be ready for the snap once the play was whistled live again ... but obviously the bucs would have to sub players (bring St unit on) ... so we would be allowed to sub players as well? .... would the clock start but then run off bc we would be allowed 5 seconds to sub in? thankfully we dont need to worry about all that.
Ok gotcha |

^^^ really good film breakdown of the game winning TD. I cant cut n paste a film shot for some reason. gruden/mcvay called the bubble screen to crowder that unsuccessfully was called near the goal line previously. This time (w reed iso on the opposite side), kirk choose to go Reed instead. |

Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
I wonder what would have happened if that went to replay and replay overturned it?
Say they gave him forward progress to the 38,that would make it a 55 yarder, they would have stopped the clock for replay.Do they let Tampa get their fg unit on the field while they're looking at the replay? Then as soon as the ref puts the ball in play they have time to snap it and attempt the fg.Its my guess thats exactly how it would have played out, which is bullshit. There needs to be a rule against that happening. I just went back and looked at replay, the f ing clock operator never started the clock at the beginning of the play,if it would have been overturned it would have been a convoluted mess trying to figure it out but I think they would have said 5 seconds left. The clock actually shows 12 seconds when he fumbles,if he doesnt fumble that would have given them time to spike it,anyway glad it didnt go down like that because it would have been a mess
I felt the same way. Especially about the clock at the end if replay had over turned the call. Glad it didn't come down to that. |

Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
Gotta love Ryan Grant's attitude (hey Hardy in Dallas pay attention on how to be a classy professional)
The highlight of Grant's day came in the third quarter, when Kirk Cousins found him in the back right corner of the end zone for his first career touchdown reception. The score cut Tampa's lead down to 24-14. After completing the catch, Grant immediately popped up, tossed the ball to a nearby referee, and sprinted to the sideline. So what was the deal on that celebration? Wouldn't a receiver want a little more of the spotlight after such an important moment? According to Grant, he kept things quiet because of where his team was in the matchup. "If we were winning I probably would've done a little something," he said. "But we were down at the time, so I just wanted to get in and get out." |

I'm probably going to get killed for saying this, but the Redskins defense has played better without Kerrigan on the field this year.

when Kerrigan was in against Tampa, we were getting gashed in the run game. They ran at him and he was largely ineffective. But what bothered me more was Goldson, Riley, and Trent Robinson poor attempts at tackling and pursuit angles. Our second level didnt give alot of support to our Dline. |
Re: Skins v Bucs Postgame Thread (aka the YOU LIKE THAT thread)
What a great performance at Fedex Field.
It was so disappointing to see them come out soft and take so long to get going. how exciting was it to see that finish? A finish like that takes everything out of you. So proud that they found a way to get it in and finish the right way! We got lucky this week, this type of play won't cut it against the Patriots. It's time to man up and commit to pounding it and hitting the holes hard. I am baffled when guys do not wrap their arms around the ball carrier when attempting a tackle in the open field. No reason for it. I see a lot of poor technique. |

It'd be nice to sign Pot Roast for cheap but he's probably gonna want decent money. Keenan Robinson has gotta be a lock. Galette I'd like to resign just because we won't get a chance to see him at all this season. |
