I would not play Matt jones again..he sucks! everybody sees it...he is a 230Lb back who runs scared..plus his fumbles cost us. Ryan Grant is in over his head also ..I would cut him..time to move on from players like this. Cousins played fine,Chris Thompson played lights out..players were out there hurt trying too win..and you got clowns like Ryan Grant out on the field..WTF ..Jones will NEVER be a player you can feel good about..Time to move on from these type players. To my eyes Kelly looks way better than Jones. Do you guys really think Jones is the main back?
The problem is Jones doesn't suck. If he did, he probably would be gone (although Grant's continued presence puts that in question). But his fumbling should at this point be enough to override his ability to run the ball. |
I could see us legitimately ending up with anywhere from 7-10 wins.
I predicted 11-5 before the year. I drank a bit too much kool-aid.
No you did not. We win 10-11 games this year. No doubt. Unless....again .....Trent and, or Norman are out for an extended amount of time...that would change things imo. |

Skins lions post game
Thing is, we are an average team as well. Against other average teams like Detroit and Philly, we will win some lose some. Anybody who thought that 4 game win streak made us a great team was bound for disappointment, we're not top tier yet
Agree on Cincy, we need this game in order to stay above .500 going into the Minnesota game. And it's definitely winnable
Who is top tier outside of NE? The NFC for sure is wide open. That average Philly team that we whooped last week just whooped the Vikings. The Falcons lost today to an average San Diego team. I'd say We hung with (probably should have beaten) Dallas. Seattle - maybe? Green Bay = average. Giants = average. Cardinals = average. |
He played well. 2 bad plays though. Trying to hand the ball off when falling down leading to turnover and short hopping the throw with 16 seconds left.
I blame Long for that play as much as Kirk. Long got blown up on the line of scrimmage at the snap and stepped on Kirk's leg. If Kirk ate it and went down, everyone on the board would be freaking out at him for going down on a 3rd and 1 and not trying to hand the ball off. |

I blame Long completely for tripping Cousins. He got destroyed on that play. But the handoff, I prefer he'd eat at that point in the game. |

While I think we can beat most teams in the NFC, in a one and done scenario there are teams I don't see us beating. |

Well we were the beneficiaries of a very poor division last year. We are better this year, and so is the division. It was a close game for the first three quarters anyway.... |
Re: Skins lions post game
The NFC is wide open, Viks will start dropping because they have no offense. Dallas may be the best team in the conf right now.

Re: Skins lions post game
Crowder is now our number 1 WR, he's been great all yr. DJAX looks like hes unhappy with very little emotion.

we have too many weapons and talent, the offense will be just fine.

Re: Skins lions post game
He is a deep threat first and foremost. Our offense is not deep ball heavy... still he isn't disappearing. He is still the leading receiver , and he had 5 receptions as opposed to two for Garcon just today.

Are you going to pay him 10+ million for mediocre play? What has he done in his years here that deserves that kind of pay? He's fast, frail, not stout enough. By the way, he went to Cal and I'm ripping on him. |

He had a great 2014. He got hurt last year. This year isn't over. He takes the lid off defenses. If you think Reed, Vernon Davis today, or Crowder would be doing what they are doing without him (or someone with equal speed/skill - good luck finding that) you are mistaken. |

I stopped drinking Tennessee whiskey awhile ago...I just had to let it go....when u luv something u got to set it free. Today after that fuckin td I got up and took a walk...I was so fuckin close to picking up a bottle again. I really needed a drink today, but I just kept walking....

If he's so good, he should have torched the lions CB, Slay is their best and he went out early. I wouldn't pay him premier WR money, which he will want. |

Well he can't throw himself the ball? I didn't watch the game tape but maybe....just maybe...he was open here or there. You are still not taking the "take the top off the D" thing for what it is worth either. The guys presence makes every other pass catcher on the field better. But go ahead and let him walk. Hows the song go? You don't know what you got till it's gone,.... |

Re: Skins lions post game
They did alright, we are still a few players away on talent. The defense was good, except for the end. We are sorta in that middle spot, lose some games we shouldn't and win some games we shouldn't. Also, attrition from injury is probably starting to catch up a bit.

Re: Skins lions post game
Glass half full/empty ...We will win games we should not and lose to teams we should beat..BUT thats the NFL today..there will be a lot of 9-7 and 10-6 teams this year. I will take 4-3 after a 0-2 start..we need the cincy game bad!! If Detroit had really beat us down then i would panic..but guys we gave that game away. and with Norman on the field that last drive by the lions most likely would have failed. The major concern I have now is the injuries to the best players we have. I believe Grant gets waived Gruden was mad as hell at him. Jones needs to ride the bench. Kelly looks better to me.Sorry Evilgrin I was posting this and just saw i said the same thing you did..oh well we think a like..

At some point you have to start hitting deep balls to Jackson before defenses will key on the underneath stuff. |

Re: Skins lions post game
Joe Barry you're right back on the hot seat. That last drive was horseshit. Stop playing zone you stupid ass idiot. I can deal with losing if you're trying to knock the QB off his spot. Getting paper cut down the field is inexcusable.
I'd put Kelly in as the starter. Not cause of the fumbles, but because he looks like he has better vision, runs low and gets behind his pads, has more wiggle and runs violent. He just looks like a better pure runner. Jones for such a big strong guy kind of runs high and timid. Didn't look good with 71. But 79 can get the job done. Norman will hopefully be ok. Breeland looks like a back up at best.
I totally agree, but even when we had a rush on, Stafford was damn good at avoiding it and took off. Bottom line is Scotty M better use our first two draft picks for the DL next May. |

You dont think his reputation alone draws coverage downfield ? Obviously if the lack of deep balls keeps up the opposing d will start thinking twice about it. I still think teams respect his speed/skills enough to send safety help his way several times a game. |

He is 4th on the team in receptions for the season and the game. If we aren't going to find ways to use him then there is no point in paying him. Jackson and Garçon are dangerous with the ball in their hands. We need to force feed them the ball. This Andy Reid dink and dunk stuff is killing me. |
