Is this the same washed Kenny Britt from the titans? Who gives a crap if he comes here
|
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I googled Kenny Britt and 3 of the top results were about the Skins interest in him. If these rumors actually came from somebody in the Skins organization, this could amount to tampering...

He's coming off career numbers 68-1002-5 He's always had talent |

true it is tampering, however it is probably a negotiating ploy to get Garcon at a better price.... or a shorter contract |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
That is just stupid. With the bump in the cap and at a 23 mil deal the percentage that Cousins would take up is around 14.4% which is lower than the percentage he took up this year. IF we start over at QB again Jay will be looking for work in a year and this team will be back to ground zero all over after finally putting together two seasons in a row with a winning record. Cousins will only get better here, but starting back with a rookie makes me want to vomit.
I'd be willing to bet both sides are just playing this out through the media to build their case. Cousins could have made it much easier on his agent if he didn't lay an egg on the last game -- but I'd bet he's going to be here long-term. |

He had a beast of a season with the Rams. Imagine what he could do with us? My only concern is that with Crowder, Reed, Davis, Garcon, and Doc wouldn't we be better suited throwing that money at our defense? |

Probably last chance for him but this guy is a damn good player when healthy. Very solid force. It would be great if Taylor and galette could get healthy. Shit I'll take one of the two. |

I don't think we would go after Britt if we were able to keep Garcon. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Wondering if we end up with the guy from Carolina as DC, if we target Kawann Short and let Baker walk.

Yeah with all of our needs on D it seems silly, but what if Doc doesn't pan out? What if, as I suspect, D-Jax makes all other wr's better because he draws attention? I would love to have D-Jax back. Probably not going to happen. Than there is Reeds injury history? Our vaunted wr corp could become a problem real quick with the departure of D-Jax and Docs question mark. Throw in an injury and blamo. I can just see us bolstering and fielding a legit D, and than our offense sputters. On top of the wr questions there is that run game thingy. I gotta get positive. Lol. Legit concerns though. |

When your Achilles is repaired it's actually stronger than it ever was in the first place. It's a matter of regaining explosion, and all reports last summer told us he got it back. I think he will do it again. |

Cousins, Garçon, D Jax, Chris Baker, Vernon Davis, Junior Gallette, Duke Ihenache, K Golston, John Sullivan, Greg Toler, Terrence Garvin and can't forget our long snapper Nick Sundberg. Who you bringing back? I'm going with Cousins 23.0 per year 5 year deal Chris Baker 8.5-9.5 3 year deal Garçon 7.0-8.0 3 year deal Nick Sundberg 1 3 year deal Vernon Davis 2.5 1 year deal Junior Gallette 1.5 prove it 1 year Duke Nachos 1.5 1 year I'd probably look into bringing Center J Sullivan into camp for depth.
No way am I giving Chris Baker almost 10 million a year. |

That might be a little high, but the guy has been one of the top dt in the league the last couple years. 7 million per year would be a great value. I'd consider Poe for sure at dt...him or Bennie Logan would be a great free agent gets at that position. |

I think a lot of people undervalue the emergence of Landon Collins, I have always said I prefer an elite safety to an elite corner. Hopefully Cravens has that emergence next season, and maybe Jamal Adams falls into our laps |

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
If Junior is healthy and plays well, he is short term help. He becomes a free agent that gets $$$$$ even though he is in his 30s.
They must draft D line because of the need and the money saved. |

Gallette really isn't an option, dude hasn't played in 2 years

It will very likely be a vet min contract, if he can't play you cut him at virtually no cost. There is not a better risk/reward move to be made

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Breaking Burgundy's Ben Standig reports the Redskins have shown interest in impending free agent Kenny Britt.
CSN Mid-Atlantic's JP Finlay is also hearing the same. Britt is coming off a career season, posting a 68-1,002-5 line as one of the only bright spots for a 4-12 Rams team. It was Britt's first 1,000-yard season of his eight-year career, and he'd reportedly be interested in the Redskins if Kirk Cousins is brought back. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon are also free agents in Washington. Britt is from New Jersey and would likely be very interested in a return to the East Coast. Interesting...McC like big receivers...makes sense.
I remember a year or two ago, maybe more, he was a big target in FA the Redskins FO had their sights on. We were hot to get him. But I forget if he got injured or he just signed with someone else. I guess it might finally happen. However, I do not want to sign a WR to a big $ contract. We have too many needs to get another WR. That would be a luxury not a need. Unlike all of the needs we have on Defense, offensive Guard and a blocking TE. A high dollar WR only makes sense if we lose both Garcon and DJax. If we only lose one, I have to say.....PASS! |

Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I wish Cousins had the same attitude as Junior. But he has to worry about the poor QB'S that he doesn't know and will play for different teams. I have to take 26 million because the qbs after me can't live off 20 million. Still can't believe he said that dumb shit. I hate it, and I do hold it against him. He is perfect for living in DC with the rest of the BSers.

I thought he did a great job filling in where needed. He won't be an every down player so I don't think his age is that much of a concern. Good back-ups are hard to find, pay the man. |

Yeah if Baker wants 10/mil a year I'd let him walk. He's a good player and deserves a solid contract, but he's not 10/mil a year good. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Baker / Cousins / Garçon 100%
If Doctson doesn't get healthy... losing Djax or Garçon is huge. Without them we have a Phillip Rivers situation. All that pocket presence and nobody to really target. You need playmakers. Djax makes plays. Not lobbying to keep him but you will notice he's gone if we don't replace him with another playmaker. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Yeah if Baker wants 10/mil a year I'd let him walk. He's a good player and deserves a solid contract, but he's not 10/mil a year good.
yeah I think my initial 8.5-9.5 million is probably off...a little high. But I certainly think 7-7.5 per year on a 3 year contract is good value. Locker room - team leader type who has worked hard and every year has gotten better. I think he certainly has at least 2 more years of solid play left. If we handed him a 3 year 22-23 million contract, that would solidify a DT/DE position along a D-Line which was quite frankly bottom 5 in the league. Baker was really the only playmaker on the line. Ricky Jean, Ziggy are decent rotation DE-types, but are not starters. To me, its gonna be hard to let the only real starter leave. We are then talking 3 new starters on the Dline alone. And don't give me Ionnadis or Lanier...they clearly arent starters yet. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I'm not over paying for Baker either. But a solid 3yr 22/23 mil type of contract with a decent signing bonus of say 2mil would be max.
Of the guys we have Hood and RJ are the best of the bunch. Questions remain with no DC in house, and which d will we run 4-3 or 3-4 I think we were in a nickel look 65-70% of the time. We did find some success with our NASCAR type package with Murphy and RK on the outside and Baker and Smith on the inside, but that isn't a big enough group for 3 downs and stopping the run. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
If we run a 3-4 again Baker is a perfect DE for the scheme. Any team running a 3-4 will pay him. He played really well this season, his presence alone, and he could play 4-3 DT which will increase his value. He's our guy.. why let him walk?
|
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Yea Baker wont fit in a 4-3 scheme very well. Same reason he was cut in Seattle.
