Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
sounds like this is the year of price inflation especially for the first cut of FA's.
Honestly rather get draft talent and find that 1 to 2 young hungry FA's. I think the DL guy from the Giants may be pricey, but would be worth it, and I stll like Terrelle Pryor at around 11M. |

Hankins could hep us versus the run. He's also very young for a FA. I think Bennie Logan could help us also. Brandon Williams will probably cost a fortune, based on the deals we've seen so far. Pryor is young and he has "star" written all over him. He'll only get better. He's a #1 receiver in the NFL. You're going to think I'm crazy but I think it's possible that Pryor could get more than $11M in a bidding war. Dont'a Hightower would significantly improve our defense. He's young enough and worth the big $$$ it would take to sign him. I think you're right about sticking with the younger FA's. I'd look to sign some good young players with upside on 4 to 6 year deals. That would be good for our building process. |
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
I would love Pryor here over Garcon and Jackson. He;s almost a combination of the two and still a raw young learning WR who put up some awesome numbers in year one of his position change. Could be a great addition for the money hes going to ask for.

Well is appears hes definitely going to TB. |
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Yea Pryor looked damn good last year.
But he's a prick. Josh Norman micced up last year proved that. |

Totally agree. |
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Another thing with Pryor, he was at Cleveland, with no passer, little to no offense, and defenses knew to focus on him.
I doubt we will land him, because, well we are the new us, that doesn't do the obvious, but I would love to get him here. |

Malcolm Smith and Garçon to sign with 49ers today per loxal news.

I really really hope we don't sign Terrell Pryor, it would be a massive mistake.

Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Losing Djax and PG isn't horrible because of the $$ but it still sucks to see those guys leave. NFL FA is fun at times but sucks the other times. You cheer these guys on for 4-5 Years and they just walk away.

Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
I swear, the NFL should just prevent any team from trading with the Patriots:

Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Per Shefter:
Britt to Cleveland Kalil to re-unite with his brother in Carolina (that should be a hell of an OL) Gilmore to NE |

[quote=SFREDSKIN;1167055]Per Shefter:

Evan Silva @evansilva 16s16 seconds ago Kenny Britt is a very disappointing signing by #Browns if it means they are losing Terrelle Pryor. |
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Yeah if the Patriots get Cooks for Butler on top of stealing Dwayne Allen.....yikes.
Also, no thanks on Pryor. He's not a guy I want in my locker room even though he's a good player. |
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Why do the Saints seem so hell bent on getting rid of Brandin Cooks? Weird. He's still young and really good and his contract is not up.
|
Re: NFL Free Agent Signings
Torrey Smith to the Iggles per Schefter:

They want picks/cap space to build up their defense; and they think that with Brees they can win with any WRs. |

Ok, then dont let him in the locker room. |

This is a really mediocre crop of free agents in my opinion. Glad we're staying out of it.
I would've like Garcon back, but that money he got is beyond crazy. |

I love how teams try to justify dumping elite talent. Getting rid of a top player at one position to improve at another seems pretty circular to me. And Brees is getting old. Will the next qb "not need"" any good receivers? |

So the Texans, who gave Osweiller $37 million in guaranteed money, may now be giving up picks to get Romo and his health issues.
