Love the celebration, but I'm sure the NFL won't lol.
S/N this is something we don't normally see or think about but watching Montae Nicholson after Garcon trucked him makes me think we should start seeing a penalty for leading with the crown, and it shouldn't matter whether it's offense or defense. Look at Nicholson twitching on the ground, he might actually be having a seizure as a result of that hit. Watching the helmet pop off the head gives me an idea of how hard of a collision that was. Very dangerous for both players. And I'm not just saying this because that's a Redskin twitching on the ground, those are the types of hits that need to be taken out of the game. Re: Skins/49ers post game
How about props for Ryan Grant? 3 catches (I think all for first downs) and in traffic. He had more yards than Pryor and Doctson combined.
So Pryor will have a lot fewer yards with us than as a receiver for the Browns last year. Crazy. Whatever wishful thinking that he and Doctson would make up for Garçon and DJax should be out the window by now. Teams don't really fear our WRs and with reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Skins/49ers post game
Special teams was the biggest con for me yesterday. the missed extra point, poor tackling and even Tress let us down with his punting, especially that 4th qtr one where he kicked it into the end zone.
Otherwise a win is a win. Lot of injuries and SF has been in all their games this year, we could have easily lost. Good teams find ways to win. BRING ON THE EAGLES!!! |

Not as mad as most considering we were down to like our fifth string corners. Just NEED to get healthy. Does anyone know anything about Breeland?

I read a quote where he said he is not as worried now as he was on the field. Believed to be an MCL sprain, MRI monday to determine severity. He had a prior MCL injury. They need to cut cut blocking all together. That and pushing guys onto/over piles after the play is dead. --------------------------------------- Both Allen and Breeland have been crucial to the success and vast improvement of the defense, with the rookie defensive end leading the d-line in snaps and Breeland playing the best football of his career. Worryingly for the Redskins, Allen was seen leaving the locker room in a walking boot. The first-round pick was quickly ruled out upon exiting the game after heading back for x-rays.
My issue today was Gruden. Particularly at the end of the game. There was too much time left in the game to try and milk the clock. He needed to be thinking first down, especially after Hopkins missed that PAT and SF scored so quickly. That conservative play calling almost costed us the game.
Punting into the end zone was not smart. Should have been a booming, high, but short punt to have milked a little more time off the clock and to have gotten the punt coverage down the field in time. Instead, the punt goes into the end zone. :/ Still, a win's a win and now off to Philly. |

Exactly. And tell the Broncos about an 0-5 team coming to their place and winning. Any given Sunday, and all that. We saw that the Rams are better than we thought when we played them, and likely so are the 49ers. We get WAY too crazy when we think the Skins “have” to beat someone. Let’s not think that the Giants are going to be an easy out just because of their record. In that sense, last night’s game was very helpful, I think... |
Re: Skins/49ers post game
Anyone worried our offense hasnt really jelled consistently yet? Cousins went 25/37, 330 yds, 3 tds 1 int but that underneath stuff wont be there if that becomes our staple and teams game plan for it. Worked yesterday and that could have been a one time game plan.
Long range passing attack - not really there like years past. D jax factor? Just need to be patient and let Cousins-Crowder-Pryor figure it out? Running game - rams game seems like an exception, not the rule. CT averaged 2.1 yds on 16 carries, Perrine 2.6 on 9 carries. Maybe SF has a solid run D, after yesterday they allow the 5th fewest yds per carry. We are finding ways to win games. I just really wish the down field passing attack would be hitting more than they are. ------ edit - just saw a slow mo reply of the garcon-Nicholson hit. Garcon definitely lowered his crown. Text book lowering crown. I was wrong on that. Re: Skins/49ers post game
Like that our D starts games fired up and focused. But we seem to pay for that with slack or average play later in games that lets opponents back in. Does the amphetamine wear off?
Needed more of a killer instinct from Gruden on last offensive series. Show KC that you trust him to bootleg or option, that you can spread and let CT to find a hole for 6 yards. That ends the game. On teams, does anyone find it odd that we were never in position to return a punt? Always a fair catch (smartly), but the first guy always gets to Crowder just as he's catching. (I know, at least he's catching.) One 18 yard return per game is all I'm asking for. These knee and head shots get harder to watch every year. |

For what it is worth:
Ranked #6 NFL Power Rankings: Where Does Every Team Stand Heading into Week 7? | Bleacher Report The Redskins could have put their game against the 49ers away earlier, but it was still a solid win. Chris Thompson continues to impress as a runner and as a receiver out of the backfield. The defense was again solid, though there were a few times it let the 49ers off the hook. Instead of making life miserable on C.J. Beathard, the Redskins allowed him to keep San Francisco in the game. There were far too many big pass plays from a guy seeing his first NFL action for my liking. The Redskins' passing game is fantastic, though it would be nice to see Kirk Cousins getting the ball to Terrelle Pryor and Josh Doctson more. When the run game is clicking to complement the pass, the Washington offense can be lethal. Overall, the Redskins are one of the better teams in the NFC. It may seem odd for Washington to move up so much after beating the winless 49rs, but San Francisco is a tough opponent that competes hard every single week. This is a team that was coming off a bye, that wasn't sharp and was missing its best defender in Josh Norman. It still found a way to win. That's the mark of a playoff contender. |

Yeah this. Almost. That call was so bad. SO BAD. It handed SF a TD and instead it should have been our ball. Completely changed the game. I was so angry after that one that I almost couldn't enjoy the win. It enraged me so bad, and as the 49ers kept creeping back in the game all I could think was if we lose this game because of that call I'm going to kill something. |

Re: Skins/49ers post game
Keim is saying" a month for Allen He will visit Dr. Robert Anderson for a further diagnosis."...too me means a stronger possibility he could be gone longer...that is if your cup is half four wins.
Per Keim Losing Jonathan Allen will hurt the Redskins. The rookie has started in nickel and helps collapse the pocket. Second-year Anthony Lanier replaces him. Coach Jay Gruden said Allen "plays like a vet." Lanier is one of these "potential" guys...time for him to step the f&ck up |
Re: Skins/49ers post game
Gruden told the media :Corner Bashaud Breeland might play Monday despite spraining his MCL vs. the 49ers. He underwent an MRI Monday.
Also: Coach Jay Gruden said they will consider taking DeAngelo Hall off the PUP list Wednesday or next week. Gruden said he's "pretty darn close" to 100 percent but they want to make sure. |

Kicker whisper Solid Snake was on to something:
per kiem Redskins PK Dustin Hopkins has a right hip rotator muscle strain. The Redskins will work out kickers Tuesday, just in case Hopkins can't kick vs. Philadelphia on Oct. 23. |
Re: Skins/49ers post game
The dreaded Lisfranc injury.
Why do Redskins rookies seem to get this injury? Phillip Thomas, Morgan Moses and Fabian Moreau all got it. Now Allen. 3-4 weeks sounds like it isnt that bad of a fx bc im guessing if he needed surgery, he would be IR'd. Re: Skins/49ers post game
Allen was having a phenomenal season...this fuckin hurts as bad as losing Norman at Corner. Maybe more because our DL depth isn't as solid.

The hits keep coming, literally and figuratively. Each passing week gets a little harder with these injuries piling up. Gonna be a very tough game this week against an Eagles squad and our defense missing Norman, potentially Breeland, Allen, etc. Not to mention Nicholson and Swearinger will be banged up. It's winnable but the offense is going to have to be on point. |

Most thought the offense would start slow and get better throughout the season. https://streamable.com/nz6rv
I loved the block, that's the best block I've seen by Redskins o-lineman in years. TBH, I thought the flag was for ramming the linebacker in the back with his helmet, which I don't have a problem with. If the flag really was for the block, it was a shit call. |

Is it me or do the injuries seem to get worse each year? It's making the sport much less enjoyable IMO. I remember when you could expect to watch your favorite players play the entire season. Not anymore it seems.
