Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.

My biggest question is why isnt Cousins and Crowder connecting?

19 catches, 149 yards, 0 tds and 2 punt fumbles.

I can only assume that wout D Jax and garcon, Ds are focusing on Crowder ... but idk.

I havent seen Brian Quick yet, might as well give him some looks.

When Pryor was signed all I kept hearing was what a great addition he would be..Guys had him in the pro bowl before he took a snap here. was responsible for signing him?
I would bring back Rashad Ross. We need some speed on special teams and he can be a vertical threat at WR.

Robert Davis is another option that someone previously mentioned.
Might as well see what we got with him.

My preference is Ross since he can help on ST.
Where is Ross right now? Is he playing on another team or is he out of football?

I thought it was a good signing for a few reasons

1. He was coming off a very productive year w/ below average QB's
2. He played a pretty good game against Norman last year
3. He has great size and speed which would help in the red zone
4. His deal was conservative so if it didn't work out he'd be gone after a year.

Before the season started could you tell us why you thought it would be a bad signing?

I also thought it was a good signing, pretty much for the reasons you stated. He has underachieved so far but I wonder why the Skins haven't looked at how he had his success last season and put in some new plays for him to run. After all, he had a 1,000 yard season in 2016.

Also, his guy is an exceptional big athlete capable of making some big plays if they would put him in position to do so. I think the Skins have failed, so far, to find creative ways to use his talents. For example, they could use him at QB on third and short or have him throw a pass off of a WR reverse. You know, tricks and surprises.

The Skins should stop trying to force fit him into the offense - he is not Pierre Garcon. They need to use him to do things that he CAN do. Jay Gruden is not here to run his offense no matter what. He is here to win games.

Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.

The signing was certainly worth the risk...the bothersome thing to me is that good teams get guys like Garcon to sign an extension right before the beginning of the year or during the season....His price would have been a lot less than what we ended up getting which was several teams bidding. A slight bump in yearly salary with some decent guaranteed would have gotten Garcon signed. Poor management.

He has repeatedly said he wants to remain with the Redskins, telling SiriusXM NFL Radio in December that “everything that I could ever want is in D.C., so I want to be in D.C. forever.”

“I haven’t heard anything from the Redskins, man,” Garcon said on a podcast hosted by Pat McAfee, a former teammate with the Colts. “I have not heard anything at all. But everybody does strategic moves right before free agency, or right during free agency, so I couldn’t tell you what they’re up to.”

That was the odd thing .. Allen and co didnt even reach out to his agent at all. Zero communication. Much like with Kirk. Zero effort or communication.

I dont know much about martavias bryant and am aware of his 1 year suspension but id trade Pryor for him straight up.

I ignore your posts. They're the equivalent of a grumpy senile senior citizen yelling at his nurse because the store was out of his style of high waisted corduroy's. Your rantings are just spitting in the wind.

Only reason I'm even noticing enough to respond here is that everyone else is quoting you.

Dude all I'm trying to say is nobody likes listening to people who are either super positive or super negative. Stop pretending this team is the worse thing ever assembled. And don't act like we're god's gift to football either.

TL;DR: Just relax.

Retired WR Anquan Boldin now hopes to come back, and has been granted permission by the Bills to seek a trade.

Boldin spent just 13 days with the Bills before deciding to call it quits, but the team still owns his rights. Were the Bills to find an interested party, the compensation would be a compensatory day-three pick. Boldin had little left before walking away, but offers sure hands and leadership. He could generate some interest.

I would work him out today.

Why? He's just gonna take away PT from somebody who needs it more. Especially if it's Pryor, he ain't gonna get better sitting on the bench. Boldin will want to go somewhere that has an opening for a top 2 wideout. We do but our problem is our young guns need time to grow.

Eh....I think I'd pass. Pass it to Boldin that is! The receiving corp could use some long time veteran leadership.

Yeah...I just think a strong leader and proven pass catcher could add a spark to the receiving corp. Could help TP and Doc in their progression as WR...he could even add some coaching.

I think Bolden could fill the security blanket WR role Cousins desperately needs. How many more times are we gonna see TP drop a big play or first down catch? How many more times is Ryan FUCKING Grant gonna run a 2 yard out pattern on 3rd down when we need 3 yards?

We need a spark...work him out at least.

Bolden can be a coach on the field for our young wideouts. I think it is definitely worth the looks.

Schneed10 10-27-2017 01:07 PM

Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.

Absurd. Look at his numbers from last year when we was in Detroit, 67 catches for 584 yards, not even 9 yards per catch. I fail to see how that's better than what Ryan Grant gives us currently. And he's yet a year older than that.

Stop it.

MTK 10-27-2017 01:22 PM

Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.

Way too late to bring in a WR unless they already know the system.

We need to get Reed and Crowder going and just live with the fact our WRs are going to be nowhere as productive as the past few years.

Schneed10 10-27-2017 02:05 PM

Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.

Agree. Forget Pryor, let him languish on the bench and find a new team next year, it's more important long term that we develop Doctson. Let him start at X the rest of the year.

And lean on Reed, Crowder and Vernon Davis in the meantime.

FrenchSkin 10-27-2017 02:07 PM

Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.
I agree.
We need to develop Doctson. if he isn't improving, we need to fire his receivers coach (Ike Hilliard). Someone needs to be held accountable for this mess!

It's hard to fault Grant because he runs good routes and has hands but he just isn't going to make a play. I feel like DBs are sitting on his routes waiting for a pick6.
Agreed about coaching.

Docston development isn't satisfying, Crowder is underachieving and Pryor can't catch a ball anymore while last year he was all about big catches in traffic...

Something's not done well...

He said that because he was mad at his run blocking (rightfully so, the guy obviously doesn't care, he doesn't even try...) and said he wasn't doing enough in the passing game to afford this attitude.

Kevin strongly disagreed with him and said we couldn't give up on Docston yet.
I don't understand what is it about a 1-year 6 million dollar deal that people call a player a bust. I mean, if the team had given Pryor a multi-year contract with a lot of guaranteed money, then yeah he's a bust.

Financially, Pryor's deal is low risk. The team can opt not to sign him next year (which will most likely happen), and the loss is minimal.
No argument from me. It's not like Pryor's deal has set the team back several seasons. He was a hot commodity this offseason that a lot of teams wanted. Maybe he is a flash in the pan or he's just not a proper fit for Wash's offense?

Either way barring a miracle run where he breaks off a hundred plus yards every game, on top of multiple touchdowns I don't see The Redskins resigning him unless it's a really low amount of money.

It's really inexcusable to play football at the NFL level w/out any urgency. The last two weeks I've also seen him block like a bitch and run some shitty routes. On one of his routes on 3rd down he ran a basic out the incorrect way and the ball could have been picked off. I now see why KC doesn't throw him the ball.

Agreed, unacceptable.

And even when he makes a catch he doesn't fight to get extra yards, gets out of bounds as soon as he can. He obviously doesn't love the game.

My mind is made up on TP after hearing Cooley’s last film review. No effort in run blocking and he’s out there tripping over his own feet. Make this clown inactive and get someone in there who wants to play.

Wow that went south quick with TP. They should give Quick some reps. Man eff Ryan Grant

Receiver is almost as big an issue as RB this offseason. Both need to be addressed.

FWIW...ProfootballFocus has Garcon rated #9 highest graded WR and DJax is right behind him at #10.

ouch...

PFF, has our highest graded WR as Crowder at #53. Pryor is rated #105 out of #109 total graded WR

Fucking terrible job by the front office. pathetic

Also, time to move on from our WR coach. Peace

Re: Terrell Pryor Sr.

He's done in DC and he knows it, that's why he shows no effort. Plus he is slow footed and can't get open at all, drops passes and can't block. He was a one hit wonder in Cleveland because teams knew they sucked and were an easy W so they just slacked off of him.
