I'm not so sure about that, we will be able to run the ball on that bad defense and if we can control the clock we will be fine. I do think Atlanta is the 2nd best O we will see all yr. |

The way Carolina was balling today, I would call them a top 5 offense as well. |
Re: Giants Postgame
Agreed. The only way you can beat Atlanta is by keeping Matty Ice and those receivers off the field.
Agree, because we not winning a shoot out |

they are good too and we did very well vs them |
Re: Giants Postgame
Everyone who is saying Smith is no KC, you are correct Smith is a winner. There is more to the position than slinging it around the field. Look at Jeff George, if it was just slinging it, he would still be in the league.
It wasn't pretty, but it was better than 158 yds and 3 INTs. Yes, QB plays wasn't good, but people are talking about like we fucking lost the game. Just trying to make a point, that it is ridiculous the way people are reacting.
Nobody is saying we lost the game. It’s game 7 and Smith still hasn’t gotten untracked, meaning he won’t. We are like the Ravens with Dilfer when they won the SB. Our D is keeping us in the games, if we try to get into a shoot out, we won’t and come playoffs u need both D and O. I bet McCoy would be more effective. |

Re: Giants Postgame
Doctson played decent today. Maybe our best blocking wr.
The way people are complaining, it sure sounds like we did lose the game.
Rather than looking at it like complaining, I see it as being honest about areas the team still needs to improve. We are no longer a bad team. That is great. But we are not yet a real contender to win it all. Smith is one of the players that is still not playing well enough for our team to rake the next step. Get it? |
Re: Giants Postgame
1) DEFENSE !!! That was awesome! Nothing to complain about there!
(If I'm nitpicking, I'm asking: could we get ALL the plays where Kerrigan is covering out of the playbook? He's having a great season, stop doing that to him!) 2) Offense: early in the game, the short passing game, with what I call "smart plays" (TE screens, pick plays, crossing routes) was working really well... why did we get away from it? It was moving the ball effectively, and developing the connection between Alex and his receivers (both Doctson and Richardson had nice contested catches on short routes). 3) 5 and 2, leading the division, great defense, good running game, no turnovers... Isn't that the definition of winning football ? Don't get what we're complaining about: this is the kind of football team I've always wanted. |

I think saying they won't get on track is overstating. Doctson and Smith are slowly developing a connection. Reed and Smith also had some good moments. |

I'm talking about Smith, perfect example is the deep ball to Richardson, terrible pass that should have been intercepted, lucky for us the pass was so bad even the Giants DB couldn't intercept it. |
Re: Giants Postgame
Why are we leading the east? From Twitter:
UPDATED: Rushing yards allowed by the #Redskins & their Defensive Line in 2018; David Johnson: 37 Jordan Wilkins: 61 Aaron Jones: 42 Alvin Kamara: 24 Mark Ingram: 53 Christian McCaffrey: 20 Ezekial Elliot: 33 Saquon Barkley: 38 They have not allowed a single run over 20+ yards Stop the run and run the ball folks. It ain’t hard |
7 sacks today? That’s Bigly
Terrible mistake to sign Alex to that extension. He’s a step behind Eli.
Joking or not you might need a drug test if you really think that Smith is worse than ELI ! Nice game all the way around ,I told you your D would be no match for the Giant line. Jump me if you want but I still think Eli can play that line has him shell shocked!! I honestly believe half your sacks were coverage sacks . Your D was on today ,the Giants seem to have that effect on a team. |
Re: Giants Postgame
Absolutely loving our Dline, I was somewhat skeptical about drafting interior Dline in 1st round two in a row but the performance this year show how valuable Dline can be..
Nice to see Doctson making some tough catches in last 2 games, hopefully Alex and he will get better through out time. AP - you guys said it all. I'm also liking Roullier, he made a nice block on the big run play. |
Re: Giants Postgame
Although true we have major passing game issues, the Skins are actually #3 in the NFC in terms of record
|
Re: Giants Postgame
This team will have a hard time playing 500 ball from here on, unless we get another wr on the field. This performance today will not beat the falcons

You need a new right side of Oline, a new qb and linebackers. |
Re: Giants Postgame
We are the ugliest 5-2 team I've ever seen, but a win is a win and 1st place is 1st place.
|
Re: Giants Postgame
If I’m jay I’m gonna try to rebuild the play action game.
Why isn’t this working? What is Alex and ap doing to not sell it? Are there too many personnel clues which give away the play as “play action” to the defense pre-snap? It seems like we should be have more opportunities mid- to long throws...teams are creeping up against the run...cowboys and giants had heavy boxes. Cousins play action game was strong with jay, with less of a running game. What’s up with this year? |

Yeah we'll see when we fall behind to a team like NO, Minn or LA how how much of an offensive comeback we make. So far we fall behind and there's no answer. |

Re: Giants Postgame
I agree with the others, we might be winning for now, but it seems like you guys have forgotten 2008 if you think winning ugly is a long-term strategy for success in this league.
Smith and our playmakers did enough to win today, but he still looks out of sync with the weapons so far. We are winning on the strength of our D, and when our D is not at their best we will have a hard time continuing to win. That will be cause for concern next week against the Falcons if our D can't slow them down. |

Nope, you'll be happy you've won an argument on the internet, since this is what is all about. I'm not being all Kool-Aid drinking up in here, I know Alex Smith probably will never be able to carry the team on his back. He's not that type of QB, nor do we have the talent or coaching he had up in KC. But he should be able to do enough to help us win or prevent us from losing. In the past seasons, we had a gaudy offense with lots of passing yards that could not carry the team and a terrible defense, which resulted in not a lot of wins. Now we have an elite defense that can carry a team, a good running game, and a very average passing offense, that is getting us wins and has kept us in first place in our division. I'll take the latter. Can we beat the Rams or any of the other likely teams who will be in the playoffs? Nope. But having a winning season with this formula goes a long way in building up this team. We gave Cousins $40 million dollars and two seasons to get us wins, and people were patient. I'm sure people can be a bit patient with Alex, WHILE WE'RE WINNING, to get his act together. I'm not blind to the mistakes this team has, but I'm not going to fucking mope like we're 2-5 and enjoy this small victory. |

If you go by scoring offenses and defense, only the Rams seem to have both right now: Scoring Offenses: KC, Rams, Pats, Saints, Texans, Charges, Falcons, Indy, Bengals, and Jets. Scoring Defenses: Ravens, Seahawks, Redskins, Cowpukes, Titans, Rams, Carolina, Bears, Philly, and Packers. |
