After reading that tidbit about Sean Payton revealing how the NFL got 2 owners to try and convince Benson to get rid of him before the suspension happened, it sounds pretty personal for Payton this year.

Out of all the contenders I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints or Rams win it. Just no more Pats, or anybody from the NFC East, or the Steelers.
Would absolutely love to see a Rams/Chiefs super bowl.

Yeah, I'd be on board with that. After all the years of Reid fleecing us, my respect for him has never been higher. There's no loser in that matchup.

The Eagles look worse than we did against the Saints, and that's saying something. Dallas still has to play them too.

With every int Kirk throws, he loosens his grip over this fanbase. That's a good thing IMO.

All Qb's throw int's. It's part of being a QB. Ben R threw 3 today and they still won the game. Why is Kirk any different?

Re: Around the NFL Week 11

Let's not forget, Kirk Cousins is on a better team, better quality weapons, better defense, better coach, better organization, etc.... and right now, his team is 5-3-1, and losing to the Bears 14-0.

I love Cousins, but he may turn to be nothing more than an .500 quarterback who puts up big numbers, but can't take his team all the way. Inversely, the 'skins are 6-4 and at the top of their division. They have lost their starting quarterback, but they're still in a great position.

Is it possible that by season's end, we realize why the Redskins didn't pay Cousins an enormous contract?

Well uh, we paid Alex Smith an enormous contract.

To summarize:

Kirk Cousins: Scores td's (today notwithstanding), also turns the ball over plenty.

Alex Smith: Doesn't score td's, also doesn't turn the ball over plenty (today notwithstanding).

Pick your poison.

A fully guaranteed contract in Kirk Cousins. Smith's contract wasn't fully guaranteed, yet, he is guaranteed a good amount of money. Cousins scores TDs, but when it comes down to it, if you score 30+ points a game and still lose, what does that matter?

The Bears arent so far ahead that KC can't overcome his mistakes.

That said his primetime presence remains decisively poor.

Just the point, though, that type of guaranteed money, you expect Cousins to shine in prime time. Right now, he's struggling.

Because a lot of his turnovers come at the worst possible time and a lot are due to bonehead plays. All interceptions are not created equal. An interception of a deep 50-50 ball on 3rd and long doesn't really hurt a team most of the time. None of Kirk's come on those throws. As I type this Kirk just threw a 25 yard pick six. I rest my case.

He is a borderline top ten QB, nothing more nothing less. The money he got paid probably won't look so crazy after a couple more of the top ten QB get new contracts.

Being top 10 doesn't mean that much to me. Especially when there is a huge gap between that tier 1 and tier 2 in terms of talent and being game changers.

Tier 1
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Tom Brady
Phillip Rivers
Matt Ryan

These are the only QBs I would pay that upper echelon money for. I don't give a fuck what the market calls for. These QBs can carry a team if they have to or called upon. Most other QBs cannot and have not. This tier 1 list are absolutely game changers and that's why you pay them 28-30+mil a year. I'd rather pay 23 mil/yr for a game changer like Aaron Donald/Kahlil Mack than 23mil for a game manager like Alex Smith. You are better off putting resources into the OL/DL/etc and rolling with a guy like McCoy than overpaying for a guy who's average (or slightly above) at his position.

I would also put Ben Roethlisberger on my tier 1 list. 6 pro Bowls, 2 time Super Bowl winner, 13-8 in playoffs. Like Rodger's pocket evasiveness Big Ben extends a lot of plays because he is so hard to bring down.

I'm with u on this, I am a big KC fan. I was hoping he would stay but after i saw the $ he got I was glad we didn't keep him. That would have killed our chances at signing key guys like BS , DJ Swearinger etc. Kirk has always been great against poor teams, then he plays a good defense an he struggles. Last night they showed his stats.

Leads league in fumbles and batted passes at the LOS.

Had 2 horrendous INT's , one of them he threw into triple coverage and the other he just floated in the air because pressure was coming. It's time to admit that Kirk is what we all knew he was. Good but not a guy that can carry an offense.

BTW his team which is far more talented than us has a worse record.

Rivers chokes, always has. I would def put Ben in the top 5.

Brees
AROD
BEN
BRADY

No matter how good a QB looks he has to play well in year two as a starter before I will put him up with the A grade guys. There have been too many one year wonders that defenses yanked the rug out from under after enough film was out on them. Remember when RG3 and Kap were mentioned as part of the next generation of top QBs? Also the offensive weapons on KC are full on bad ass.

I said nelson was the best player in the draft.. He should have gone #1 overall.

Interesting that in this story there is no mention of RG3 at all, given that he's the Ravens 3rd stringer and a QB whose demise came from running a lot (in terms of his injury).

That and for some reason RG3 was the opposite of a normal QB, he seemed to contort his body to maximize damage from impact instead of minimizing it.
