A few other little tricks that will help with you blood pressure. Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother) ,I take a table spoon twice a day and it really does work . Breathing (yes sounds silly but) taking long deep breaths will help with your blood pressure also. Two small painless things that you can that will help.
I noticed work out and eat less salt are not on your list. Are you making a list of things that actually work, or a list of things you can do that don't involve actual effort? lol

It was 50 when I started loosing distance on my game. I still hit the ball 250 plus but not 280 like i did in my 40's.

250 plus plays more than fine if you can get up and down and make a putt. I just spray and pray these days.

Speaking of getting old. I can only seem to make time to play about 10 times a year, what with kids in sports and all. Back in high school when I was playing 4 times a week I had the index at about a 9. Can't get below 12 anymore.

Yeah I'm on a low dose beta blocker myself. We all know the deal, lose some weight, work out, watch what we eat, etc. But sometimes it's also just genetics too.

As for sleep I know you're anti-weed but CBD is amazing for sleep.

Re: The Getting Old Sucks Thread

I have to really agree with the sleep...I sleep much worse with than I used too. if I have a drink or three it will really affect it. I do the CBD if I have a bad night of sleep to get me back inline. Also room darking curtains ive put up as well. With me its not that I cant go to sleep, but the waking up early not getting back to sleep before work.

Also with the drinking...as I get older, Im a cheap date now...tolerance has gone down a bit.

I have a Fitbit and it’s amazing how a few drinks absolutely ruins my sleep.

I did a dry January just for kicks and I liked how I felt on Saturday and Sunday mornings so much that I kept it up. I'm a much more boring Schneed now than I used to be.

Can't keep it up forever because damn bourbon is good. But it has definitely helped some with sleep.

I'm goin thirty eight man chill the fuck out, mow your damn lawn and sit the hell down.

lol

When you have a few brewskies and know you'll not feel great in the morning while still 100% coherent. When you're younger you don't thing about hangovers until you're smashing a breakfast burrito the next morning and talking about what the plans are for that night.

Another HBP patient here. Makes me think being a WFT fan has something to do with it :-)

I'm on an low dose ARB and that lowered me down to a good range. Big thing to those out there afraid of it, HBP becomes way less dangerous when you get it under control. Their are amazing drugs that can absolutely will save your life.

No more drinking alcohol for night games. That's a young man's game. I am absolutely dying at work today.

+1

Night games are a young man's game too, I slept from 12:45 to 4:45 this morning and barely made it to work on time. Half groggy the entire day, moving like molasses. The sciatica is still acting up too which doesn't help. Didn't even have a beer either, I save that for watching the game with friends - which they don't wanna do right now because pandemic.

Getting old sucks indeed.

I’ve inserted a no drinking from Monday during the day to Friday morning abstinence clause in my life like when I turned 33,34-ish.

Needed that…and then I stopped drinking Jack Daniels at 37ish…another step moving away from painful mornings

This is where i get in trouble. Last Thursday I drank 4 beers over say 3 hours then i decide shit i will make a 7 and 7; well the 4 beers mask the Seagram's so I pour them heavy and in my mind I am like its just a 7up drink up; ugh.

I literally was hung over until 3 or 4 the next day and I might had 2 of those 7 and 7s. Being hung over is the worst feeling; i get head splitting headaches which make me nausea then i end up puking maybe 3 or 4 times. I HATE it! its why i rarely drink to drunk level and that I am older that drunk level or potential hang over level is so much less.

My uncle use to call my house that I shared with roommates in college. He ask for Matthew and they say who is it and he reply it’s his mothers brother.

That is equal to calling today yesterday’s tomorrow.

I dont really eat chips but we got a bag of dorritos. Ive had some dorritos after dinner a few nights this week and I wake up with like dry dehydrated lips in the morning. I brush my teeth. Last night I even splashed water on my lips.

I already stopped eating frozen pizzas bc of heart burn ... now chips bc of dry lips? Am I like becoming salt adverse?

Whenver I get Chipotle I can count on being severely dehydrated in a few hours. The hot salsa is so damn salty. I have to pre-game with water before hitting up that place.

Chilis is like that for me, i can feel hung over the next day after eating there.

Is it just me, or every year older you get, the more temperature on either side of the spectrum effects/affects (I'll die not knowing exactly how to use these words) you?

Age has had a huge effect (noun) on your sensitivity to temperature.
The heat and the cold could affect (verb) SD’s mood today because he is so old.

Had to look it up myself and not sure i will remember the next time i use one of the words. I usually just sort of mumble the beginning a or e when speaking. When typing i just wing it and hope im right.

Ill try n remember sound effects because that is a noun.

The slow churn of becoming older and older than people that are on your TV (sports, news, shows, all of it) or in movies. Its just weird. And it only keeps going 1 direction.

So I don’t mind having grey in hair…but I do actually dye my beard sometimes just in a couple spot where I hate to have straight white, right around my chin.

Serious point, if your 45 or older schedule your colonoscopy. Colon cancer caught early or just the removal of polyps is Bigly in that fight. I know cologuard or whatever it is sounds easier, but just do the colonoscopy…I got it done as well as an endoscopy for my acid reflux issues at the same time.
