Draft is in Vegas this year. Warpath party?
Pretty much this. It’s like when Jamf drafted Saquon at no 1 in fantasy football this year...you can’t argue it.
Ouch. Lol |

Yeah sure just call it something else like “vera bradley give away at free spa weekend “ so that the boss is ok with it.... |
Re: Chase young discussion
Seems to me Young is the obvious pick at No. 2. The greatest potential for embarrassment would be to take someone else at No. 2 and then have Young turn out to be the ROY.
|
Re: Chase young discussion
Is Chase really THAT GOOD??? I haven't seen him so just asking,we can't afford to mess this up.
|
Re: Chase young discussion
Keep it simple stupid
That's how we need to approach the No. 2 overall pick. |
Re: Chase young discussion
However, Tua entering the draft helps us in regards possibly trading down. Although I don't think we will.
Chase Young and Montez Sweat DE combo is nasty. They both play well against the run too. |
Re: Chase young discussion
Yes, Chase Young is THAT GOOD. He is probably the consensus pick as the best player in college football this season. Since Joe Burrow is a southern Ohio boy and the Bengals desperately need a quarterback, it is about 95% certain they will take Burrow. After that, I think every analyst unanimously agree that they would pick Young.

With this point of view in mind, what type of trade would wow Chase Young supporters enough to be worth trading down, assuming we go no lower than 9 with Jacksonville. Would you risk trading with Detroit one spot for a lesser haul, thinking they need a qb to replace Stafford and still get either Chase Young, Andrew Thomas or the CB out of Ohio State edit: Matt Stafford would be an expensive cap hit this year so no trading with them and getting Young |
Re: Chase young discussion
There are bust every yr yes but you can't pass up on Young's potential

IMO, I think he's that good. Not too many defensive players make it on the Heisman ballot. I am hoping we get him so can he help transform our defense. |

IF they think the Lions will take Tua at 3 and aren't sold on Herbert, then maybe...... |
Re: Chase young discussion
Lions would be crazy to take Tua at 3. The guy may never be able to effectively play football again and you take him at No. 3 ??????????. Plus both Trevor Lawrence adn Justin Fields will probably be available at the top of the draft next year.
|
Re: Chase young discussion
But if we did trade down, Okudah is the CB take. He could be a starter from teh get go next year.
|
Re: Chase young discussion
Only way I’d consider trading down is if we got a RG3 type of haul.

Proof Chase Young is destined to be a Skin (click on the thumbnail, I’ll why it’s not showing up)

Re: Chase young discussion
Man, watching those video clips makes me think we’d be crazy not to draft him. Crazy speed off the line. Wentz, Prescott, and Jones are not outrunning this dude.

Re: Chase young discussion
Young looks amazing. But so does Burrow. I know that Burrow almost seems like a no-brainer for Cincy, Young should make them think twice.
I wonder though, if we could help them have their cake and eat it, too: Haskins + the #2 pick + ___ for the #1 overall pick so we can take Burrow. Aside from whether or not Cincy would be interested in something like that, would the Skins? |

Re: Chase young discussion
Cincy won’t pass up the chance to take Burrow. Zero chance.
Just like we shouldn’t pass up Young. I’m going to say it all offseason, barring something crazy happening like a catastrophic injury, those two picks are locks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Chase young discussion
This convo made me look up if there is a vegas line on who is drafted #1. On Nov 7, 2019 (before Tuas injury), the betting line for who will be the No. 1 pick:
Tue -150 Burrow +200 Herbert + 600 Young +750 Fromm +800 https://www.sportsbettingdime.com/news/chase-youngs-odds-first-overall-2020-nfl-draft-improve/ Im sure the current one has Burrow as the clear cut favorite now. |
Re: Chase young discussion
Hard not to get excited about Young and Sweat as 4-3 ends.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree those are the first two picks, but many analysts say Young is THE top prospect. This does not take away from Burrow, but Cincy could view a situation like that as their getting to have their cake and eat it too. I agree its unlikely, as there is a reason this league gives QBs a premium, but every pick has its price. |

Agree that the first two picks will be Burrow, then young. but whos to say Cincy wouldn't trade the pick to the skins - or another team - for a load. Or that the skins wouldn't trade the 2 for a load? |

I have to admit, depending on the size of the load, the Skins would have to think about it. But it would have to be a load size you couldn't refuse, because Young is dominant. I like the idea of having a superstar, which we just don't have right now. But it at least has to be thought about. We also need to think of another word besides load, because gross. |
Re: Chase young discussion
Is there any chance that we do not draft Chase Young at #2? What are the chances that the Bengals draft him or trade the #1 pick?
And if he's there at #2, is there any chance we don't draft him or trade the pick? It seems like a no brainer if he's there. HTTR! Very excited about this offseason, especially the draft. |

But what are the chances? Small. I think it's a virtual lock the Bengals will take Burrow and we'll take Chase. |
Re: Chase young discussion
LT needs worry me. I have no quantifiable evidence or stats or trends to point to ... but I do worry an old school coach may think solidifying LT is the No. 1 priority of a team and talk themselves into downplaying Chase to trump up a LT.
Id certainly bet we take Chase but I cant help that nagging concern that we somehow talk ourselves into thinking need at LT is greater than a Chase Young on the edge. If we trade back, itd be a lot easier to swallow if its a big load vs a marginal 1st and 2nd. |

Re: Chase young discussion
Cincinnati is under a lot of pressure to do something to placate a very unhappy fan base. That "something" is adding a potential star quarterback from southeast Ohio. When Burrow used his Heisman speech to stump for Food Banks in SE Ohio he became close to a folk hero before even being drafted. I can't imagine the Bengals passing on him.

Re: Chase young discussion
A dominant front 4 would definitely be a game changer just ask SF.
|
Re: Chase young discussion
Chase is the missing link.
|
Re: Chase young discussion
Rumor mill has the Giants giving Bengals this year #1 and #5 and next years #1 . Bengals take Young and trade to the Giants for Burrow .
|
Re: Chase young discussion
Sure we will take burrow
