Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
I confess, I have no idea who Sam Ehlinger is. I really hope we can get our pass rush going (no sacks of Rodgers yesterday, although he was getting the ball out fast).
Yep Sam Ehlinger season lol they are in tank mode now
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You could argue they were in tank mode with Ryan in there, he's been a turnover machine |

Texas grown QB. Went to the same high school as Drew Brees and Nick Foles - broke most of their HS records. He was a solid QB for the Longhorns for four years. Reminds me of Baker Mayfield a little, but not as cocky. He was drafted last year, but hasn't played any meaningful snaps in the regular season. Similar to where we are with Heinicke and Wentz though, Ehlinger probably gives the Colts a better chance to win at this point than Matt Ryan does. |
Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
The colts need a LOT especially on O. They have no QB, and really no WRs.
Taylor should be a trade target too if I was them. They need a complete rebuild |

Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
It's amazing that the Colts are 3-3-1 the way people are talking about them being in rebuild mode. I doubt that they see it that way.
BTW, I am not saying I disagree, but they somehow beat the Chiefs earlier in the season. Their other wins are against Jax and the Broncos -- not real achievements -- and they only managed a tie against the Texans. The two games they played v. Jax are crazy -- they lost the first game against them 24-0 and then won 34-27. How you get blanked and then put up 34 on the same team 3 weeks later is beyond me. So who the heck knows what this team is? They're probably thinking that they're decent QB (turnover free football) away from being relevant, just as some people thought might be the case for us now that the defense has started to play better. The good news is that Irsay is nuts and he'll probably want to suit up himself to play on Sunday. |

I'm thinking youre right,he probably gives them a spark,I'm sure he's gonna be a lot more mobile, not much game film on him,he probably whips our ass |

If Zappe can do it, why can't Howell? If TH screws up, put him in a short leash.

Justin Fields fucking garbage
Edit…fields acshuckly playing pretty well |

Impressive indeed. That must be tough for Mac Jones. The guy has a solid rookie season, his team drafts a QB in the 4th round, he gets injured, the guy shines and just like that a couple of bad drives to start the game is enough to get him benched... The NFL is a tough business for sure. |
Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
Colts aren't in rebuild mode.. Lol. Like most teams they have some strengths and some weaknesses. They're an average team. Pittman has really turned out to be a really good player.

Belichick is a good coach, but he ain’t shit without TB.

The Bears are taking the Patriots behind the woodshed.
Sports can be rather funny at times. |

I think BB is really good. But best ever? Nah. I remember when he was DC of the Giants back in the 80's. We always had a tough time w/ their 3-4. He got the job at Clev and got them to the playoffs once, then Modell moved the team. But what is his record w/ out Brady? Seems like he is just a really good coach that lucked out w/ Brady. Even his 2001 SB team had numerous Parcells leftovers. Plus his drafts have been subpar at best. |
Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
I guess our run D is pretty good after all. The Bears ran for 243 against the Pats. Sheesh.
|
Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
The Bears played an inspired game against the Pats. They are learning how to best use their talented young QB and they have some other top-notch talent on D. I think they are on their way to becoming a tough out the rest of the season. It was certainly a fun game to watch.

Who do you think is? I think he is very good too. You give any other current coach Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe and they are not nearly as successful. Only other coaches I think could take those two and squeeze some juice are Shanny and McVeigh |

They are already a tough out. With the exception of the Packers game, their other three losses (NYG, MIN, WAS) have all been by one score. |

Makes me appreciate our victory and defense a bit more after seeing this. Our defense has been playing better than the beginning of the year. Would love to see Chase Young soon healthy.

Losing by double digits at home to Chicago on MNF. Realize the Bears are improved, but last night was one I though the Pats would get.

It just goes to show you how critical it is to have a QB

Our defense seems to be really playing well. Sitting William Jackson and having St Juste play in his more natural position at boundary corner is looking like the right move. Also, Holcomb has stepped his game up as well as Davis. |

The one thing I'm nervous about is CY99 trying to do his own thing in the pass rush - that was a big thing with them last year and everyone trying to do their own thing. This year they seem to have a better idea of what gaps to play to close the pocket - last year we saw CY99 leaving wide gaps for the qb to step up in while he rushed to the outside of the tackle. Hope when he comes back he has better cohesion with the rest of the unit. |

We will see.. |

I think Belichick the GM hasn't been that good. Zappe and Mac Jones? The game has changed and you have to have an elite athlete at QB nowadays that can make plays w/ his legs. If you don't then you need an elite team around your QB. Justin Fields was the best player on the field. His passing is still a work in progress but he crushed NE w/ his runs. Never felt Mac Jones is going to take them anywhere. Good player but he is a JAG. Belichick hasn't adjusted his offense for the league as it is today. On top of that he has his former DC and a special teams coach running his offense? And they also have a tough time developing wr's. Hoody has to roll up his sleeves after getting his ass beat last night. Brady ain't there to bail him out. |

Is he going to come back with something to prove personally - and not be a complementary player, or is he going to come back and play within the system and just do his job? Hopefully they will ease him in and give him the opportunity to prove that he will not be a freelancing liability. I am not sure I want him to automatically be given the lion's share of reps at that position. |
Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
NFL Teams have expressed interest in trading for #Commanders DT Daron Payne.
The 6'3, 320 pound former 1st round pick from Alabama has 18 career sacks and people with knowledge of the market believe he could net a 2023 2nd Day Draft pick, according to @BenStandig |

Payne has been playing pretty well this year so it would be a big loss if we trade him away. If the team has no plans to resign him then yes we definitely should trade him, but if we will attempt to sign then keep him and make efforts to resign him toward ending of the season. |

He needs to be effective in all components of the position. He should be aware of this, since he's not a rookie anymore.

I just don't see them trading him unless they are blown away with an offer. He's too important to this defense. I doubt they would be willing to roll with Allen, Wise, Ridgeway, Bada at DT. WJ3 though, I could see them trading him since he's pretty much been benched, but I am not sure what you could get for him, or if he is actually hurt - which would complicate that idea. |

+1 A 2nd or a 3rd could be more than we'd get for him as a comp pick when he leaves in the offseason. Hate to say it but we obviously aren't competing for a title this year, if they don't plan on resigning him time to sell to the highest bidder. |

Let's not forget we already lost Ioannidis and Settle. I feel like we keep having this notion that we're not going to be able to keep all the talent we have at Dline... but at some point we're still gonna have to pay some guys ! I'd feel more comfortable losing Sweat than Payne at this point. Not a knock on Sweat at all, just that I like our depth at DE more than DT. Even with Obada being a nice surprise. |

Throw in McCain too. |
Re: AROUND THE NFL WEEK 7
Wentz and Jackson, smh.... Wentz is the highest paid player and Jackson is possibly #3? Neither will see the field the rest of the year and the team could possibly improve. At least McCain doesn't cost a lot.
