Re: SF PG
Few bright spots from today on Offense were Dotson who is proving to be a star, Terry who is just an animal and Wentz who came in and threw it very well all things considered.
On defense The DL did solid and CY looks good. The secondary got eaten alive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Td was a dime but overall he got it out quickly and on time. Heinicke can’t do that because his arm is so weak. Unfortunately for us, Wentz will go back to his bad play sooner or later and it’ll most likely be the WC game Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: SF PG
Is Cosmi still hurt? Why isn’t he starting at RT or RG? Instead they have Lucas a backup starting and Cosmi coming in relief of Turner.

Re: SF PG
I know it's meaningless... But I hated the call to go for it on 4th and goal early in the game, 0-0 at the time, defense was doing well, take the 3 points (those 3 points would have changed A LOT throughout the game, you didn't have to go for 2 late in the game, you didn't have to attempt the onside kick etc...) AND I hated the playcall on that play: if you do go for it, it's a short one, put your QB under center and run it up the middle from the ace, tell em "we all know what's happening but we're going to get it this time", you're not fooling anybody with that weak ass shotgun, they're not thinking that you're going to put it into Heinicke's hand on a 4th and goal from the 1... Turner got cute again on that one.
Other than that, this Oline is disappointing, Trai Turner proved me wrong again, watching him early I thought he'd be very physical... And I thought Robinson didn't have a very good game, he looked hesitant at times and he left some (tough) yards on the field by not hitting hard enough. IE, just before the 2min warning in the 1st half, the 3rd and 1 that Turner turned into a 3rd and 6 (eventually converted on a pass to Dotson IIRC), Robinson couldn't have gotten the 1st on the previous play if had just lowered it. D wasn't as awful as the score suggests, and missing Curl didn't help. On our last scoring drive, we were on the good end of an awful mistakes by the refs: the pass called incomplete to Dotson, that Shanahan wanted to challenge, was clearly an interception, and they changed the initial completed pass call to an impossible incomplete pass, since the ball never touched the ground. Crazy how no ref, even upstairs, picked up on that IMO. I don't have a definitive opinion on what to do at QB for the rest of the season. Next season keep Howell and TH as a back up for sure... But for now we're still in the mist of a playoff run, I don't have an issue with this staff doing what they think gives them the best winning chance. |
Re: SF PG
Given the crazy money some are projecting for Heinicke in FA I don't see there is anyway we bring him back. Still need the money to find a starting QB next year, though I am still not totally convinced that they will cut Wentz while Ron is still in charge.

I had to look up what you were talking about and 19-20 mill per year…I’m passing on that https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/washington-commanders/taylor-heinicke-17249/market-value/ |

Re: SF PG
The Giants and Commanders are almost identical teams this yr..
Both -28 in Point differential Both are 1-3-1 in the div and 4-6-1 in the NFC Both have very average offenses and top 10 defenses The only difference is they have the better QB which is why they beat us, Jones made plays and throws that TH didn't. |

For sure. The Oline cannot handle great pass rushers - Parsons, Bosa, #5 from Giants and so on. |
Re: SF PG
The OL is bad but a great QB can help a bad line. Look at Rodgers with GB. OLine is bad and he has no legit WR1 and he’s still fine.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
True, although I don't think it's realistic to expect a good rookie QB to solve our Oline issues next year especially when we are not in the position to draft a top rookie QB. |

Yup. While a great QB can make the line look better…only a few QB can really put the team on his back and play thru OLine issues. But great Oline and especially a run game more often prop up avg QB play. Like Dak, like any QB in San Fran, like Alex Smith in KC versus Alex Smith in DC. I think it’s smart to build a strong Oline/running game while we look to improve the QB spot |

Simple, draft an OL and G on the first 3 rounds and start Howell. Hopefully Chris Paul will be ready next year, I’ve read good things about him. |
Re: SF PG
Does anybody here really think the fan vote will count for anything? Snyder will do whatever he, and he alone, decides unless he just doesn't give a dam anymore.

Sam Howell needs to be given an honest shot to win the starting job next season. And, yes, the OL needs to be addressed in the off-season, as well. |
