He played for three years in the SEC and as far as I have heard had no serious injury issues over that time. So I don't think it is as big of an issue as some would make it out to be. Don't want him to put on too much muscle if it impacts the way he plays the game, there is a fine line there

I'm indifferent about the pick. I feel a little like I felt after we took J Davis. I knew it was a position we needed help at, but don't know much about him. The consensus seems to be that we took the wrong CB on the board (just like the consensus when we took J Davis), but time will tell. I like the idea of a ball hawk, but wonder if he won't get pushed around by NFL receivers.

We'll see... as we will with all these picks...

My prediction is Hooker won't go prior to round 4. But agree BPA outside of DL and WR.

Can't say I am either, but he does have a first round grade (higher than any QB from last years draft). If he is still there at 47 they probably should take him. This is just playing the odds.

I would have no issue with them taking a QB but not in the 2nd round. I think you start looking 4th or 5th round. Max Duggan would be the perfect pick in that area.

If you were to compare Witherspoon vs Forbes, they are very similar, edge to Forbes for all his accomplishments. A little more weight and we got a stud.

I don't know about returns but i do know that he has ST skills because I saw one of his highlights where he blocked a kick [U]and[/U] returned it for a score. He's a playmaker.

Sounds like he has a couple return touchdowns too, but I don't know how often he did that. I did see that play you are talking about. He blocked the kick, but he did not return it for a touchdown. That was someone else.

He does seem to be a playmaker...

I must have gotten over-excited and let my mind imagine that he scored. Anyway, I'm warming up to the pick now that he's claiming to have gained 15 pounds.

He is the reason they scored - still a playmaker kinda play obviously.

I too am warming up to the pick. I have some reservations about his size, but it hasn't been an issue to this point, so maybe it won't be at the next level either...especially with the nutrition/strength & conditioning plan they will most assuredly begin very soon.

The return game question is a good one. I don't know that using our#1 pick and likely starting corner as a returner is a good move. But I do wonder whether we could pick up a real return threat in later rounds. It's been way too long since we've had a true threat back there on kicks.

I'm old enough to remember us using Darrell Green as return man in a playoff game (remember those?) I think against Chicago. He scored but was injured on the play, ribs maybe. So the point of maybe not using a starting corner as return guy is a good one. Except maybe in the playoffs...

Yeah at only 166lbs it would be best to rarely use Forbes in the return game.

To be fair to Darrell, he was already hurt before that play, him hurdling a defender just reaggravated it
