Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Ramsey threw for more yards in 1 quarter than Brunell did the rest of the game. I'm PISSED at this decision, I think its a bad one. I'm glad Ramsey wants to be traded, he couldnt be treated more unfarily right now. How is he supposed to react when Gibbs stuck with Brunells POOR ass for like 10 weeks last season, and benches Ramsey after a FREAKING quarter. This is freaking bullcrap. Thats all I can really say so far cause I havent had time to read through the posts/news so I dont totaly know whats going on, just got home form the game.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
quit questoning Gibbs , you critics, who call yourselves skins fans will never be the poop that is wiped off of gibbs' ass. Let the legendary Coach do what he came her to do. He didnt ask for Ramsey, he was a left over from a coach who was a complete disaster for us. Brunell looks ALOT better than last year, and good enough to win games for us. It was just Brunell last year. i cant believe no one has mentioned this yet... Our wr's sucked, look at Moss after the catch than coles, thats why coles was brought here, and never amounted to shit, especially after the catch yardage. Then you look at our running game last year with missing important right tackle, you know who.... and having shit for centers...and oh yeah, our 50 gut runs and counter treys with a 210 lb running back. Ummmm you think its all Brunells falt last season? I admit, he doesnt have the deep touch, but if you look at the midrange vs ramsey, its better. its better we dont have to watch ramsey make two great throws to blow it 70% of the time. its better we dont have a guy who will tuck and duck every time there is pressure or just throw a pic. brunell can leave the pocket and make a play or throw it away. brunell has grown more comfortable in this offense whether you like it or not. NO, he's not our future, and now we pretty much know..even if ramsey stays the whole season that he is not either. thanks im out
Last I checked Gibbs was 6-10 last year and human just like the players and those criticizing, so to say no one can question him is just ludicrous. He does deserve respect for his past history. If you call making a play a role out and a 2 yard dump 100% of the time then Brunell is our guy. Let's go light up the board with 110 yards passing, 2 first downs, 1 third down conversion, and the miracle that everyone thinks will win us games 0 interceptions. I hope I am wrong, but seeing what I saw last year and the fact that Brunell showed any improvements this year were against 2nd string secondary and people who are not on teams and I can assure you they aren't on a team because they are not good enough to play at a pro level. Live action against a first string D yesterday 70 yards and no TDS. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
and your judging him on 1 quarter right? since he never got more than 15 minutes or so this season, I don't think we'll really know... I know i don't want to watch any more 80yd passing games though with masive 3 and outs and punting.
incase you havent noticed, we've seen ramsey for what, 3 years and a preseason? i understand the new schemes and all that, but the mechanics arent there. if im wrong then im wrong, but ramsey just doesnt fit in this system. and i just dont see his "potential" with us. id rather watch a 80 yard passing game (with limited int's) then see three TO'S anyday |

like i said, you dont amount to anything close to gibbs, so you "cant question him" all you can do is try. and you act like you been on the sidelines the entire time, lol, shhhhhh you dont know anything, i say the best you can do is be a pee wee soccer coach, and you try to question Gibbs? wow matty please close this thread, i beg of you |

well, if we're judging by LAST YEAR, brunell is worse than awful. 3-6 in games brunell started, 3-4 with ramsey. I think ramsey's faults are less damaging overall than brunells. |

matty please close this thread, i beg of you
I dont really give a crap about any of this. I'M QUESTIONING HIM. How in the HELL do you go with Mark Brunell right now? What has he done to gain his starting job back? Point blank, our offense is more explosive with Patrick Ramsey in at quarterback. I dont like Gibbs right now at all. He lied right to everyone. "Patrick's my guy, Patrick is my starter" BULL FREAKING SH*T! Now, NO ONE is going to respect our pass. Portis is going to have 11 guys keying in on him every play, and our offense is going to suck again. Edit: I just found out about this, so I'm pretty pissed, thats why my posts are so pissy. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Ramsey is HURT, people. HURT HURT HURT HURT. I'm not sure about these reports people are quoting about Ramsey demanding to be traded. Not everything said on ESPN ends up being true, but it seriously sounds like this is just a one week thing to me. Why rush Ramsey back when (in Gibbs' eyes) we have a backup that can play? Give Ramsey time to heal completely.
Like I said, I don't know anything for sure here. Yes, it could be that Gibbs is putting Brunell in for the long run. No, I don't agree with it. I was all for Ramsey starting last season, and you know what? People have bad games. It happens. I cannot imagine that Gibbs would wait and wait to take Brunell out, go with Ramsey, and then put Brunell back in after ONE bad half of a game. How can a sub-100 yard passing attack inspire a change in QBs? In summary, I don't think it's for longer than a game or two. I could be totally wrong here, that's just how I see it. |

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Ramsey was just on Comcast Sports net Monday Nite Live and he stated himself he is fine and the injury is not a factor with him straight from his mouth, no more sore than after a regular game. He played it off well, but no mention from him except he wishes Brunell and the Redskins the best and he will do his part. It is the nature of the business were his only comments really.

Plato said "Question Everything!" I like that notion as appose to "Doubt Everything." My point is questions are meant to be asked and there is no shame in doubting everything. This all brings me to my other point which is love thy neighbor, except when they are a Cowboy fan.

if they put 11 guys in to stop portis, our wideouts would be wideopen lol.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Dolphins still want him? Patrick doesn't deserve this crap. Give us ricky and a conditional pick. then sign a vet free agent for the #2 spot.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
I'm pissed. I side with Ramsey if he wants to be traded. It isn't like he's TO crying for more money. He's the better qb and he wants to PLAY. WTF? What did Brunell do to earn this? NOTHING. PERIOD.

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Brunell did play better in preseason and Ramsey has been completely inconsistent. I really like Ramsey and have been routing for him since the beginning, but it just isn't working.
This is the sucky side of the business of football. But I saw the report on ESPN too that Ramsey wants to be traded. |

Please let's take our hostility out on the Pre-Jailhouse Set. |

Ramsey is a polished terd IMO and Brunell is close to being a corpse, but brunell gives us more IMO, but ill go with what gibbs wants

Once again, Ramsey shows himself to be a class act. Too bad the Skins haven't treated him with the same amount of class that he displays towards them. But, that aside, this move is just plain dumb. It isn't about the injury - Gibbs clearly said it wasn't, at his press conference. So, you can only assume that Gibbs TRULY believes we have a better shot with Brunell as our starter. Now, if that doesn't scare the **** out of you, I don't know what will. |
If it's true I don't blame him one bit. I have just lost ALL respect for Gibbs.
Get ready for another dismal season, Skins fans. Does anyone out there really think that Brunell will take us to the playoffs? HAH! What really ticks me off is that, last year, Gibbs gave Brunell every chance to improve - far more games than he deserved, before he finally yanked him. This year, he says Ramsey is the man and he gives him all of 1 game? What in the **** is going on here? I'll never believe another thing that Gibbs says and, mark my words, neither will any of the other players. From comments I've read, many of them seem to prefer Ramsey.
I couldnt agree more, especially this part What really ticks me off is that, last year, Gibbs gave Brunell every chance to improve - far more games than he deserved, before he finally yanked him. I agree. Trade him to the Cardinals and I hope he throws for 400 yards on us. If Brunell was better than him, I wouldnt have a problem. But he's not, so I do. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Ok I haven't read all of your comments but I hate crybabys and coaches sure hate those. I hate when a player doesn't look to adversity and says ok I'll prove you wrong and just crys and says "I want out and I want my mommy " come on you're sopouse to be a pro and have some pride and be a lider.
Who wants a qb in their team who doesn't know that you lead by example I'm sorry but he wont triumph in any team. Best example look at Brees last year when they picked rivers and payed a ton of money for him he didn't went to camp and ask to be traded he worked, he studied and played a hell of a season and became the leader that team wanted him 2 be. He played so good and still does sunday was a clear example that SD doesn't know what 2 do. Thats a player, thats a QB, Thats a team leader. A QB is the player that can keep his cool when things are going bad and bring focus, and tranquility to his fellow players to win the game. Ramsey ain't a qb and he ain't a team leader you can expect a player to trust him when he folds so easy I don't know but he crys like he deserves it. He has talent but what is it worth wen you don't have heart, pride and corage. MAN STOP CRYING AND PROVE IT EVERY TIME YOU'RE ON THE FIELD. |

wow, so now you're saying we're all dumb, but whoever doesn't agree with you is even more retarded, and you think that's not an insult? you think telling people that they're worth less than a pile of shit isn't offensive? You need help, cause you clearly don't get it. Please keep the shitslinging to yourself or find some other place to troll. Encouraging people to be mindless followers is the most retarded thing i've seen today, and there's a whole bunch of you guys saying that... please, stop. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
and people said gibbs' legacy was safe. I think it is ok to say that his decision is wrong, everyone is entitled to a position but when people are saying that they have lost all respect for someone who is the only reason us fans have anything to talk about is beyond belief. And if you truly don't respect him i think you should stick by it and start lobbing to kick him out of DC, why the hell not, if you don't respect the coach then how can you stick by him and that is as good as not wanting him here

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
"its better we dont have to watch ramsey make two great throws to blow it 70% of the time."
Amen - that sums up Ramsey's career with the skins. Exactly the reason I don't mind seeing Ramey relegated to the back-up role, or traded. |

I swear, I'm going to become a steelers fan. The ineptitude of this franchise over the last few years is ASTOUNDING. Are the powers that be just incapable of continuity? How about common sense? And I'm going to get jumped on because Gibbs has more football knowledge in his left ball than I have in my entire body. I don't care. Judging on last year and the beginning of this one, I've got one question: WHAT THE FUCK? |

Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
did everyone forget ALL OF LAST SEASON?? everyone was BEGGING for Ramsey, and now because of a couple pre-season games, we want the disaster of last season? if that's the case then we are WORSE than Philly fans. i have never witnessed such a fan 180 as i have now with people booing Ramsey on the first game. it's shameful.
I was there yesterday and I agree 100% with your criticism of the fans. Ramsey was given about a 2 play grace period before the boos started coming down. It's rediculous. How about letting our starting QB get comfortable at home. Later the crowd even got on Brunell after yelling for him to vome in. Our offense probably prefers to play on the road at this point. I know our QB's are not very good, but it doesn't help them play better when we booh them constantly. Ramsey was booed in the first series for crying out loud...just rediculous. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
I am new here (Hello To All The Other Skins' Fans) and I have been a Redskins fan for 30 years.
I say let him go. Goodbye and good riddance. Oh wait, all that really leaves us with is a warrior who doesn't know when to retire. Maybe we can all pool enough money to get Joe back and win another championship, he's not that much older than Brunell. Time to go watch the Vick and McNabb show. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
It's laughable that you would refer to Mark Brunell as a warrior.
|
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
I've noticed on various posts Ramsey's situation being similar to that of Trent Green. I don't get the comparison
Gibbs, in my opinion, probably should have never declared Ramsey the starter going into Training Camp. He should have come right out and said "You know what Brunell was hurt last year, we have new receivers, a new game plan for Portis, a new QBs coach. I'm more comfortable with the new rules of the league since I left. Both Ramsey and Brunell are going to get an equal shot this summer and we'll see what happens." Then maybe everyone wouldn't be bitching that Ramsey's been robbed. |
Re: Ramsey wants to be traded
Ramsey should chill a bit before demanding a trade right now. Settle down maybe he'll end up starting again. He has been in this offense for 1 year and he looks shaky at best. If he goes somewhere else he's gonna ride the pine also. I know he's full of pride but this is likely an agents demand not his own.
