honestly i would, but she's married to a cow-fan of all people, is there a bigger dealbreaker??
LMAO.....U GUYS ARE A RIOT!!! I VERY MUCH UNDERSTAND YOUR POSITION-ILLDEFINED....I THINK I WAS SLIPPED A "MICKEY" WHEN I SAID YES TO THAT PROPOSAL! |
Re: Ramsey and McCants
like you said before, we have two sucky QBs, and that's what it comes to. everyone has claimed Brunell is the best QB to "not lose". i'm pointing out thats not the case.
i see a lot of arguments basing preseason accomplishments over regular season games under fire on the board, there are weak arguments all around. lesser of two evils, who sucks less, unfortunately in our position, it all applies.
What you say is SOOOOOOOO TRUE!!! Both Suck but who sucks less??? I wish Joe T could make a come back! One thing I have to say with all the great so called players on the O side is the QB spot the big hold up or is there more. Bad play calling or coaching? Are the players just over rated? What do you think the deal is? |
Re: Ramsey and McCants
I know this thread concerns the QB's and McCants....but my brain hurts. I don't care who is taking the snaps.....I want to win.....and if Gibbs thinks this is the guy then I have to think this is best. I am concerned how we are going to beat Dallas as a team. Brunell or Ramsey can't do that on their own.....I myself think this whole QB thing is a wash.....Brunell/Ramsey although their game is different seem to produce the same thing.......so who cares who is saying "red 80" and "3" 40" and "go." I don't care anymore. I care about kicking the sh** out of Parcells and the cowgirls. I want to know how we as a team are going to do that.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
We are going to do it with mistake-free football.
I was rewatching my tape of the game and seriously both Brunell and Ramsey were very accurate, even Brunell from intermediate range. He took some shots downfield and all were very close. Taking shots downfield is how we got that PI call. Moss would have been in position for that ball had he not been interfered with. We just need to establish the tempo with Portis and even let Brunell pass to our sure handed receivers. That fake reverse was MONEY last game and I'd love to see that utilized more often. THAT'S the kind of play-calling I'd expect from Gibbs given the weapons he has at WR. Our defense I'm not worried about, we just need to do what we do. Only a fluke would have the Cowboys actually score some real points on us. |
Re: Ramsey and McCants
You make it sound like it's Gibbs plan to ruin the season. Gibbs has won at everything he ever did yet this season he decided he wanted to sabotage himself. He obviously thinks Brunell gives him a better chance to win.
Just maybe, just maybe, Gibbs does not have it anymore. Dick Vermiel's comeback almost ended prematurely, save for an unexpected find in Kurt Warner and an injury to Trent Green, if I recall correctly he was close to being fired, before that season they won the Superbowl. Now I am not advocating firing Gibbs, and he definitely gets this season, but if we are 6-10, or worse, all bets are off. Yes this is blasphemy to some, but these illogical decisions by Gibbs the GM are getting to be too much, and some may have long term negative consequences on the team. Everyone talks about the three rings, but there was always a GM to counterbalance things on those Superbowl winning teams. I remember when the Redskins were the model franchise and always had the knack for acquiring a key player via Plan-B free agency. Now our front office is a running joke within the NFL. |
Re: Ramsey and McCants
You're acting like Vermeil just stumbled across Warner and that was instantly his saving grace.
He's won a game or two since moving on to KC, seems to me he knows what he's doing. |
Re: Ramsey and McCants
The biggest thing Vermeil found was Mike Martz, although he can leave you scratching your head as a head coach he was the cog that made that offense go, but he did hire him so he new something.

Re: Ramsey and McCants
I find it amazing that so many people outside the Redskins organization think they no better who should start for the Redskins than Joe Gibbs does. I know this is the kind of second guessing that fans do, but when you stop and think about it it's really pretty silly. Joe Gibbs is around Ramsey every single day...he puts way more into his decisions than just the things that we are able to see. I just can't believe that all that Gibbs has accomplished for the Washington Redskins has brought him such a small amount of leeway. Joe Gibbs is litterally the Knute Rockne or Vince Lombardi of the Redskins...just about every significant win this franchies has ever had was under his watch yet after only 17 games he is being thrown under the bus over the benching of a QB that has shown only minimal improvement in 3 years. Honestly, I thought Redskins fans were better than this.

so no one should ever talk about anything because its impossible for gibbs to ever be wrong? Every else doen't know what they're talking about, but somehow you do? This thread has gone soo far off topic now :( the downgrade from brunell to ramsey is minor, I personally think its a downgrade, but at this point can we just see what happens? |
Re: Ramsey and McCants
Man I sure do agree with you. You know what? all those so called fans who booed Brunell last year was booing Ramsey in the pre-season when he was looking like crap. Every head coach in the history of the NFL has gone through what Gibbs is going through now, and you can best beleive he knows this. When the starting QB is going bad they want the back-up, When the back-up goes bad they want the starter back. So, it's a viciouus cycle in this league, you're only as good as your last play. If, and it's a "big if" Brunell starts the next few games and has success they'll be cheering him again. It's just the nature of the beast.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but when Joe Gibbs was in his heyday you were much to young to have any emotional attachment to him. I grew up loving Joe Gibbs. I think that is the major difference of opinion on this website when it comes to gibbs. The members in their 30's or older who remember the good days are much more patient with the current Gibbs era, whereas the fans in thier 20's have no emotional attachment to Gibbs and just want results imediately. I am not saying that's necessarily wrong either. I just personally believe that Gibbs is going to turn this around eventually and I am not going to throw him under the bus over the benching of one average player for another. |

Overall, I do believe the majority of those 30 and older have more of an attachment to Gibbs than those 20 and under...again with exceptions to that rule. Ramsey fans want Ramsey to succeed more than anything else, Gibbs fans want Gibbs to succeed as well. Hopefully, our "attachments" to coaches or players won't let us forget the fact that our main goal should be for our team to win football games..regardless as to who the players are and who the coaches are. |
I agree. People kept talking about PR vs MBand kept mentioning PR won more games last year than MB. Till it was pointed out they both won -3-. If I'm not mistaken, Three is also number of Superbowls won by coach gibbs. Joe has more wins under his belt than Games PR is likely to ever play in. I know what I don't know. I know I don't know 1/100th as much as Gibbs does about football. He also knows a heck of a lot about people management than I do. Look what he did with his Nascar team. I'm MORE than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. |

Re: Ramsey and McCants
I personally liked Ramsey because he at times looks like he can be unstoppable if he was consistant. You can see the up side to Ramsey, he just has to put it all together. D-Mac was good but just never tried very hard in practice and putting in extra work. I like the Brunell move though, we can't afford the TO's. Ramsey if you learn to throw the ball away when nothing is there and move in the pocket just a little better. You can be a beast. But will HE????????
