Re: Who Will Win Game 4
Just a figure of speech man. Chill out. I, and the rest of the media, think we are a team that might finish slightly above .500. Just because I pick us to lose doesn't mean I am not a fan. I just know reality when I see it. We were 72% on 3rd downs last week. Won't happen again. Denver has shut down some elite RB's so far including LT.....and held ole Jacksonville to 11 yards rushing. I don't see much to be too positive about so I thought that we might lose this game my friend.
The reality is we are 3-0 and we find a way to win. You must be great at parties. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I do believe the Denver game will be more difficult to win compared to the KC game. KC has no D, denver on the other hand has been shutting down the run. But it comes down to field position and the composure of the QB. I give that to Brunell. He is not going to force something that isn't there. And we all know Jake is going to make a mistake or two. The key is we have to make them pay for it. We need to create some pressure, contain the outside so he cant to alot on the run. Pressure up the middle, DE contain the sides and force him up in the pocket to get blasted or forced a bad throw. This will happen, Springs or Taylor will have a pick sunday. maybe even our rookie, Carlos. they run an offense similiar to Seattle, so we have some experience shutting it down.

And, yes, maybe we have found a way to win early in the season. But I need to be convinced that we can play and beat a solid Football team on the road before I start really getting excited. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
to be a Resksins fan means you think they can win every game. We are all realistic in knowing they have stunk for a LONG time. But to be 3-0 with an early win IN DALLAS and a tough hard fought game with Seattle you have to believe we can beat just about anyone. Our D is playing solid. there has been a visible improvement with the overall offensive output. Things are going our way, remember last year, Dallas got the last second TD over Taylor, well its our turn with Moss beating Williams. Field goals beating us, well this year they aren't, they are hitting the uprights. Like most of us Redskins fans outhere, we all believe we will win this week and next. We are not no pesamistic this year. GET ON THE WAGON DUDE!!!!!

Good post man. I just want to temper any excitment I might have until later in the season. I'm a fan....make no mistake. I'm on the wagon. I just don't feel good about this weekends game. I still feel we have a long way to go to be a playoff team....thats all man. I do feel better about the KC game but they will be coming off a bye. These next two games will be an early test to see if we are a playoff caliber team. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I'm a little disturbed at the way people are railing on skinnyfan just because he thinks we might lose a close game against a fairly evenly matched opponent. He brings up good points. Personally, I think the Skins will win this one. However, it's not like he's backing a high school team against the Skins.
The reality is we are 3-0 and we find a way to win.
You must know that doesn't mean we will win this week.
You must be great at parties.
I have no personal knowledge about this.
to be a Resksins fan means you think they can win every game.
No, it means you support the Skins during every single game.
We are all realistic in knowing they have stunk for a LONG time.
This isn't being realistic - this is accepting fact. Being realistic would be to admit that they could lose a close game.
But to be 3-0 with an early win IN DALLAS and a tough hard fought game with Seattle you have to believe we can beat just about anyone.
I agree - however, it doesn't mean we will beat everyone. Re: Who Will Win Game 4
nobody will win everygame in todays NFL. The realistic view is we go 1-1 the next two games. But I do believe if we play the way we have, no penalties, turnovers, we win against both these teams. and I hope Champ gets burned 3 or 4 times!!!!

Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I rail on skinnyfan because I would say 99% of his posts are negative. Typically I choose to skip over his posts because they are overtly doom'n'gloom.
I have no problem with people who take a realist point of view, offiss and SC's opinions are some that I value, because they give credit where it is due. Skinnyfan strikes me as a "glass is ALWAYS empty" kind of person, hence the reason I don't take those posts so seriously because I can't remember anything truly positive. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I do not think that we are going to win a shootout with Denver. Our best chance is to put a lot of pressue on a shaky Plummer and hope that he makes mistakes. This will also lead to a few big plays for them. I think our offense will struggle. They want to stop Portis as much as he wants to get back at them. We force 3 Denver TOs and win 20 (2 TDs, 2 FGs) - 16 (1 TD, 3 FG).

I checked his predictions for the other games, and he would have us at 1-3 at best after Sunday. That said, he made a few good points about Sunday. Nonetheless, I still think the Skins are going to pull it out. |

The Redskins have done so much over the past years to warrant me to have positive thoughts about their football performances. And I am not the only guy that is a fan to pick the Skins to be 1-3 after this week. But you can skip over my posts if you want, no bother. I am pessimistic most of the time but that is because I feel the bottom is going to drop out on this dream 3-0 record. I tell ya what if we win this weekend.....I will never post again. You will rid yourself of all this negativity. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
Hey, seriously no hard feelings. Nothing against you personally, but I normally don't like to read arguments on based on a year or more's precedence. We are in the here and now. It's one thing to make arguments on why we might lose, but maybe throw in a reason we might WIN every now and then. :)

Re: Who Will Win Game 4
We win in the forth with a heavy dose of Portis and then a 30 yard TD pass to Moss burning Champ to take the lead. With the less than two min. left and the Broncos driving Lavar levels Plummer turning the ball over and we run off the clock. That way Portis dumps on his old team, moss burns our x player and we end the Arington rumor.
|
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I'd love to see a heavy does of Portis. We just CANNOT get away from the running game. If he gets 25+ carries, I think we'll be fine, even if his YPC isn't great.

Re: Who Will Win Game 4
True. But one good thing I read is that atheltic people (ex. The Skins whole team) don't have to adjust. It takes 3-4 days to feel the effects. It's all psychological.

Re: Who Will Win Game 4
Keys to win in my opinion:
1. Control the clock, Convert 3rd downs~Denver is supposed to have this great pass rush well lets use that to our advantage with some screens to the wideouts and the Running backs. make their defense tired.Cooley will also have a big role here in moving the sticks 2. Silence the crowd: the best way to do this is with big plays in the begining. This is where Taylor Jacobs and Davis Patten will come into play. Brunnel needs to be on time getting to these pass to other guys especially, if Champs will be on Moss. The first offensive play should be a flee ficker, with a long pass to moss giving the double move to bailey. 3.The Line needs to give Brunnel his time, and donot have costly penalties. We were very discaplined last game and we need to continue that in week 5. 4. Limit turnovers~ can't have picks, fumbles or anything that will take the ball away from us. 5.Special teams need to have a great game by getting us great field position and limiting theirs. Novak needs to make all his attempts in this game cause they will be vital to a win. OnDefense: Lock down the recievers, & stop the run. I think Arrington would be a great advantage to use in this game, with his blitzing ability and play making style he could cause plummer to make costly mistakes... Sean Taylor should be able to bait plummer into making mistakes. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I thought Chump was hurt? Has he been cleared to play?
|
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
Nobody knows for sure. He's listed as "questionable". And I've heard from more than one so-called "source" that it may be just smoke and mirrors so that we don't game plan for him.
Whether he's there or not, the Skins will be prepared as if he will be there. |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I have a hunch the Skins pull this one out late in a very close and very low scoring game - - Maybe 17-13 or maybe even 13-10.
The Internet sports books have the Skins on the money line at +250 or +260 depending on where you look now. I'm hoping that the line moves to +280 by the weekend. If it does, I will hop on the Skins at that price. In any event, I already took the Skins with 6.5 points... |
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
:thumb: No turn overs, we must get some.:smashfrea we must play smash mouth football on both sides of the ball.we can win this game but we must take no prisoners. . play to win, go deep, blitz. don't play not to lose.go out swinging. 24-10 skins.if we play as i have suggested. p.s. set lavar lose on them.

Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I'm heartened by the fact that LaVar was practicing with the starting linemen.
|
Re: Who Will Win Game 4
I'm more happy to hear LaVar and Gibbs had a long talk... hopefully they can get whatever issues there are on the table ironed out.

Skins 24-13

I just hope it's not the same kind of long talk that Gibbs and Ramsey had a couple weeks ago. :banghead: |
