Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Anyone glad that we didn't pass on a 3rd and 2? :)
Now we're in third place......good thing Dallas has a tough schedule ahead. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
I guess that's what happens when you're throwing late in the game.
Dumb call, dumb play.
Yeah, wouldn't you know it. Two and a half minutes left, Eagles protecting a lead. They pass, INT returned for a TD. Plenty of time for Philly to come back...but they didn't |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
we can make up one game on dallas and new york by beating them later in the season. this could be a good thing since the eagles are pretty much done. we will have to wait and see.
Good point. If I told you that every team in the NFC East would beat Philly on their first meeting you would call me a damn fool. But it was a matter of time before Philly's reign would end. And that time has come. Now let's get ready for some Redskins Football! |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Just when I thought they were running the ball considerably more, they had to do that shit. Andy Reid just couldn't help himself.

The bullshit is that Reid allowed McNabb to go back in the game. Who the hell is the coach? T.O. is laughing his ass off right now. They should have just showed him the money. |

Turn on to NFL Network. Andy Reid is being interviewed. Man he looks wasted. I think he sees the end and it doesn't look good for him.
|
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
season is seriously over for the eagles, their 'choke' hold on the east is now officially over.
|
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Sounds a lot like us yesterday, huh?
Exactly. now I'd like to hear from those who said we should have passed because the worst that could happen is an INT, which would have been a quick score and given us plenty of time to come back |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
wow i hate sean salisbury
he said it is a 2 team race in the east, cuz the redskins are "fading as he predicted" what a faggot |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Bill Parcells buried his younger brother today in Short Hills, New Jersey. It's unfortunate. But doesn't seem like teams like the Giants and Cowboys use a tradgedy or misfortune to win an emotional game when they need it? I hope the Redskins keep getting better without anybody associated with this organization dieing. That's for real.
|
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
The King is Dead.
Philly is no longer the shizzle in the east. Giants , Redskins, and Cowboys, as it should be, battling for the division crown. BSB, that's funny. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
madden cover...all i gotta say. mcnabb was on cover this year

Wait a minute. Throwing a 10 yard out when you have the lead is just plain stupid. Hell, Bledsoe blew the game against the Seahawks with the same throw. So to say this is some sort of validation for us running three times yesterday prior to the 2 minute warning is wrong. With our H-backs, a Brunell rollout with a dink to Cooley/Sellers/Royal/Kozlowski would have been a money call and game over... |

Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Wow. Guess I'll take the silver lining here and say it's very nice to see the iggles collapse. But ugh.
Anyways, those division games in fedex in Dec are looming larger and larger. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
I just found this message board and I'm a big longtime Redskins fan. Just wanted to see what everybody thought about Philly losing? It seems most wanted Dallas to lose tonight but in the grand scheme of things I believe this was a better outcome for us than the eagles winning. Here is why.
The more teams we can eliminate from this NFC east logjam the better. If we can win our games then we have Dallas and New York coming in late in the year. Also the eagles game in philly for us at the end of the season will probably be meaningless for the eagles. If the eagles have nothing to play for then mcnabb will have surgery and not even play against us. If we can't beat the eagles when they don't have mcnabb and they are out of it then we aren't a playoff team. So let the giants and cowboys stay a game ahead of us for awhile. If we take care of business we have the home games against both of them. If Philly won tonight we would have had a logjam in the nfc east. Now philly is 0-3 in east play and they are probably about done. If they won they would have a very favorable schedule from here on out. But this 1 game will probably do them in and let's face it they were the team to beat in the east for awhile. It's better that they are out of it and now we can focus on NY and Dallas. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
the divisional picture is finally shaping up. i hate eliminating teams because last year we were like 3-8 and i still had hope, but i really think philly is done as they have @rams and seahawks not to mention skins and giants twice left
Cowboys and Giants play each other the week we play the rams, before that the cowboys have lions and denver. I think the cowpukes will drop ATLEAST one between denver and @ giants if not both, but it does not get easier, they play K.C then PLAY US at fed ex and then to top their shit whole to the brim they got @ Carolina. I don't see them playing very well in that 5 game stretch Denver L @Gints L K.C. W @Skins L @ Carolina L but i think they have to lose 3 of those 5, even though i predicted they will lose 4 i doubt they actually will. They seem to be able to lose all of those games but i doubt that they lose more than 3, we are looking at 2-3 losses for them in there the gints being one game ahead are in good position as they have a decent schedule but their schedule isn't as good as ours. i will put my rough predictions next to the games Philly W @seahawks L Dallas W @Philly L K.C W @skins L @oakland W |

i see the cowboys finishing 9-7 and the giants finishing 10-6

Dallas and gints play each other so one team will be out of our way if we beat them both. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Thanks. We squandered a great opportunity yesterday but everything is still there for the taking. If we can beat Dallas and NY and finish at least 10-6 then we have a decent shot at winning this divsion.
I just think it is a relief knowing we don't have to worry about Philly anymore. I got so sick of watching that team win for what the last 5 years or so. It is great day knowing the eagles are just about buried. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
Yeah I know it won't come easy to beat either one of them. But i think the table is set pretty well for us. If we can beat the Giants and Dallas at home then our chances look pretty good at taking this thing. The first half schedule was brutal and hopefully we can take advantage of this schedule.

Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
lets take a moment and be silient to officially pronounce the death of the eagles.
it has been 4 LONG ASS YEARS that they have owned us and now it is over |

well Dallas fans are probably feeling the way we felt after we did to them what they did to the Eagles.
Yeah, I'll feel good if we're all tied for second place after tonight. I truly think we can take Oakland and San Diego at home.
We need to take Oak, San Diego and Rams to really be taken serious, this one win one lost shit, isn't working |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
You know I just couldn't pull for Philly tonight until McMahon was in there trying to get in field goal range. I despise Philly and their fans more than I ever did the Cowboys. Atleast the Cowboys have a winning heritage and intellegent respectful fans. I hate to admit it but I really enjoy seeing the Philly organization fumble thru the TO mess, depend on a hurt McNabb, lose Pinkston, Mitchell, etc. Hate to see Dallas win, but pushing the Eagles farther down the toilet is good stuff!
|
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
I wouldn't be so quick in preparing Philly's obituary. This is still a team with a ton of playoff experience and lot's of pride. They could very well end up a wild card team at this point.
And our inconsistant play isn't helping the matters at all, but I do concede 10-6 should get us a playoff berth. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
The Eagles are on the ropes, and the final knockout shot could come next week against the Giants.
Gotta wonder when they'll consider shutting down McNabb. At this point I don't see them finishing better than 8-8. |

Exactly!! We won a game that the Eagles couldn't - wouldn't? - close out. We learned the hard way that the game is 60 mins long. Actually we had to be taught that lesson two or three times. I still see the Redskins as the Team in the drivers seat. Great Div record. Home games against Dallas and NYG, when it is cold. Maybe if the Cowboys and Giants can get more people close to them to pass away before those games...... I for one would gladly sacrifice Jerry Jones for a victory in DC. I'd sacrifice him for a close game in DC actually. |

But, a game out of first with our toughest games a home isn't so bad. |
Re: Root hard for Philly tonight
The Skins are still in good shape with 3 division games still on the schedule, and two of them at home.
That being said it's still going to be a heck of a battle and the Skins better get things figured out on D with giving up the big plays and find a way to cut down the turnovers on offense. |
