I don't think your gay. But when someone says no homo without being asked if they were it's kinda like a why did that need to be said thing. |

Re: The Pro Days Thread
Neither do I. Back to RG3 and EARTHQUAKE2689's braids. We don't like it when you call them dreads.

Re: The Pro Days Thread
For those that have seen both, what is your sense? Is there a clear and immediate winner? Given yesterdays performance, do you think the colts will select RG3 over Luck?
Personally I like Griffin better but to me these guys are 1a and 1b.
I'm guessing that most people that rate Luck ahead of Griffin value his 'pro-readiness' i.e. pre-snap reads, rhythm drop back passing proficiency, pro-style progression reads etc. Luck's pro-readiness is attractive because it means there is less of a burden on the coaching staff to teach. But those traits are learned or coachable traits they aren't a physical part of Luck's skillset that cannot be gained by other prospects. I guess it depends on your view point; for me coached skills are less valueable then innate skills for a prospect. Most of the prospects will have the best coaching of their lives ahead of them and will have the chance to learn the same things Luck was taught by Jim Harbaugh. I have Luck and Griffin about equal in most tangible aspects. Watching the pro-days actually helped me close the gap between Luck and Griffin's armstrength. Before I though Griffin had a clear edge in being able to throw the ball with velocity and drive the ball on intermediate throws. But,its really splitting hairs both are more then capable of making all the throws. To my eye they're arm strength is about equal with Griffin having the edge on deep ball accuracy. Luck has the family pedigree and a proto-typical physique. Instead of listing the little areas where 1 has the edge over the other I'll skip to the main area that separates Griffin for Luck to me: playmaking. Or as Bill Walsh liked to call spontaneous genius. But anyway here's the word from the godfather of the draft/scouting:
The workout that Robert Griffin III had Wednesday at Baylor was outstanding. I’m not sure whether he or Andrew Luck should be the No. 1 overall draft pick.
NFL.com Blogs » Blog Archive RG3 wows in workout, deserves first-pick consideration « If you're really interested in a statistical comparison that goes beyond the normal measures check out: "Why RG3 could go ahead of Luck" by KC Joyner (i can't link it but if the mods don't mind I could post the whole article) I think the Colts will select Andrew Luck, he's the safer, more conventional pick. |
