Breaks down to 37.5 for 3 years each, 112.5. He earned it. |

Cole Holcomb passed his physical and is signing a three-year, $18 million deal with the #Steelers today, per source. The new middle linebacker and signal-caller for Pittsburgh’s defense. |

[Edit] $18m is the max value of the contract. |

Talking w @Joe_Fann about new Commanders LB Cody Barton: "He's serviceable if unspectacular...The development never popped for a 3rd rounder...He's fine, he's not going to lose you games, but he's not going to make those game wrecker plays either" |
Passer rating doesn't take into account the impact the WR has on a play while QBR focuses exclusively on the QBs impact on any given play. Regardless if you think they are relatively comparable or even if TH is slightly better is he worth 20 mil for 2 yrs? I'd prefer the 8 mil for one player. Let's hope he is there to provide insight and a guiding veteran force to Sam and nothing more. He has experience that TH cannot provide Sam and I think that plus cost is the most important factor.
experience at being 18-30 as a starter, sure. Its my opinion, yall dont have to agree, try suffering through watching every game he played last year. The dude is a bum, period. Nothing to see here. If he sniffs qb1, like i said, we're screwed, see ya next year. |

I know the guarantee is the issue but I wouldn't oppose giving him a few millions extra guaranteed to have a real competition in the LB corp. |

I'm in the definitely improved camp. |
Why a RB? Are Patterson or Williams considered third down/pass catching backs? I feel like the rb room was solid last year? Can think of a few other holes id like to plug than rb? Maybe EB looking for something particular we don’t have now.
I think JD was the 3rd down/pass catching back, but he was injured and now he's gone. I heard somewhere that McKinnon could be in the mix. You got the Robinson/Gibson as main backs, McKinnon as the 3rd down. So either Patterson or Williams may not be around. |

McKinnon in EB screen game is deadly. I’d say get him here |
Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Can’t have enough good backs especially to help support a young QB
|
Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
I don't think we need McKinnon at all. Gibson is more than fine handling 3rd down and splitting carries w/ BR.
|
Re: Commanders 2023 Free Agency Thread
Do they have something against Patterson? Everytime he gets carries he gets tough yards.

I thought he looked great against Dallas, but what do I know. |

I thought they let JD go because they liked at least either Patterson or Williams. But Bieniemy could just want 1 of his guys here. |
