Wade is now 33-15 regular season with the Cowboys so it's hard to hate on that record. If Shanahan puts up a similar record I don't think you'll hear many complaints around here.
That'd definitely be a welcome change.
All I can say is "What a difference a year makes".
Take a look at the NFC East at the end of the 2008-2009 season...Dallas was a train wreck of dysfunction. Everyone here saw it, the team was falling apart from within and of the 4 teams in the division, the future was most bleak for Dallas. "Take out the trash", TO, Tank, Pac-Man all kicked to the curb. Then it fell to the coaches to get the team moving in the right direction. At the end of this season, now, Dallas is probably in the BEST shape in the division moving forward. You can bet that Phillips got a lot of the credit for the renewed team continuity and that had a lot to do with his extension.
Your Boys did show something.. and with a new regime in Washington and too many questions to answer in Philly and New York it'd be hard to argue with that. |
Well, he is definitley a puppet for Jones. I mean how many owners actually come down to the sidelines during the game? As anal as everyone say Snyder is, I've never seen him on the sidelines. The only reason Jones extended Phillips an additional is year is so he's not a lame duck coach with just 1 year left. If the Cowgirls shit the bed again like they did to end the 2009 season, Phillips will be fired as quickly as Zorn was.
Snyder has come down to the sidelines.. he just hasn't had a reason to since 2007. |
Re: Vikings Run Up The Score: Brooking vs. Pat Williams
I cannot remember the last time that Snyder visited the sidelines if at all.

I'm not that delusional. I realize that this team has far too many holes to be a SB contender in 2010 and 2011. Beyond that, things look hazy for every team. |
Re: Vikings Run Up The Score: Brooking vs. Pat Williams
I gotta say it, SandTrap Romo is not the guy to get it done for you in Dallas. He is not good enough to be a good QB in the playoffs. He doesn't have the focus. He will win you guys some games I will give him that, but when the pressure is on Wade and Romo fade into the background.
Saying that I do not know what to think of the 2010 Redskins. We may be better, but i don't know how much that will reflect in our win loss record. Next year's schedule is tough for the eintire NFC East. |

There is a QB in the league right now that lost his first 3 playoff games of his career before he won his first playoff game. And that has happened to Romo too. Lost his first 3 playoff games and won his first playoff game in his fourth appearance. And that other QB went on to lose a total of 8 playoff games to date. But he has also won 9 playoff games, a Super Bowl, and 4 NFL MVP's. ....yeah Peyton Manning. After Peytons first 3 playoff losses, people said the same thing about him that you are saying about Romo, he will never win the big game, he won't get it done. It is way to early to judge that. |

You're...seriously...comparing Romo to....Peyton Manning? :laughing2

The Cowboys are a big market team, with a lot of true/dedicated fans, and a lot of bandwagon fans that make them more noticeable than the Colts back then. I would say right now that the Colts are noticeable because of Manning and not just because they are the Colts. In the end, Indianapolis is not as big of a market as Dallas, Washington, and New York. A QB for the Cowboys, Redskins, Giants, and Jets will always have an added level of pressure that small markets team don't have (except maybe Pittsburgh and Green Bay). |

Lol, I had a feeling after I posted that I would have to explain myself. Abosolutely not! Don't know if anyone could truly compare to Peyton. My point was simply that Manning lost his first 3 playoff games as a starting QB. Also Manning had more INT's in his first 3 years as a starter than Romo. And at the time, many prematurely labeled him as a QB that could not win the "big" games. Oddly similar to Romo who is also 1-3 in the playoffs. The only comparison I am drawing here is saying that being 1-3 in the playoffs does not make one a bust as a QB. It is too early to tell. That is all. |
Re: Vikings Run Up The Score: Brooking vs. Pat Williams
I'll be honest it seemed that Romo was starting to click in Dec. and really seeing the field but maybe that because of who he was playing against. He then stomped the Eagles and I was thinking this could be his year. We then saw how he played against a good team and I realized maybe the Eagles are not really that good either. To compare his playoff looses to PM is a pretty far stretch and you also have to look at who they played.
