I'm not setting an example for people outside fam friends and a few employees. Huge difference when you're job includes mentoring the young and dumb.

I just find it funny that you think a convicted drunk driver with no nfl head coaching experience is a better coach for this team than mike shanahan. the blind faith you and others here put in these unproven guys is far stronger than the faith of those nuttjobs who believe the universe is 6000 years old. Mike shanahan was the best thing to happen to this franchise since Snyder owned the team and half of you are cheering that he's gone. Stupid, stupid stupid.

Is it really such a stretch that someone may be able to learn from and move on after getting a DUI? I don't think someone should not be considered just because of one mistake they made. Especially when it was 8 years ago.

The dude just went 3-13. There is no justifiable excuse to keep him when he does that in year 4.

You know that you can get DUI from drinking less than 2 beers, right? Some of you guys never drank a beer or smoked a joint? This is a ridiculous argument, are you guys Mormon? Anyone can get a DUI if you encounter a cop like Goat or BHA :)

I don't see people here putting blind faith in unproven guys. But some people do have reasoned hope. Joe Gibbs was once an unproven HC candidate, after all.

Insisting that our HC have previous NFL HC experience is a Vinny move.

And he was 10-6 and took us to the playoffs in year 3. How quickly you forget. Change is only good if you're upgrading to something better, change is just change if you're rolling the dice.

For every joe Gibbs there are 10 Jim zorns.

skinsfaninok 01-05-2014 11:45 PM

Doesn't matter who the coach is , if you don't have talent u don't win. We need players bad

That may be true. But to rule out unproven coaches is to lose the Joe Gibbs hidden in the mix.

Re: Who Do You Want to Be The Head Coach?

It's a principle thing IMO and again core to the idea of mentoring a bunch of young guys. Personally I'm super liberal, believe pot should be legal, but drunk driving destroys innocent lives every day. And as a wealthy coach there's no excuse, have a limo drive you around for fuck sakes. Just no excuse for it IMO.

Gruden looks like a heavy drinker too. Puffy face gives it away. And then you add the pressure he'll face in DC.

I liked hearing Caldwell watched all RG's games prior to the interview. He sounds like a solid guy all around.

You just lost all future credibility with that one statement.
