I've totally lost track of this thread, but Snyder has paid millions over the years for coaches not to be here
Even if we lose out, I don't see him getting rid of Gruden. My money is on BA either leaving or moving to business role. |
Re: RG3 and Gruden?
Hard to imagine Gruden getting the axe so quick. Even Zorn got two years.
Yeah, but wasn't Zorn like 7-9 or 8-8 in his first year? |
Re: RG3 and Gruden?
unless we get blown out all of those games. Allen should be gone or at lest moved to business side HAZ gone, if he retains gruden and we go on a losing strak i could him getting axed during the season

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
This is easily the worst situation I can ever remember any NFL team being in
Matt Millen at Detroit was worse. A lot. If 0-16 isn't bad enough, look at their drafting. Painful to look at even for another team. The last few years of Al Davis was worse. He finally had a coach that turned the team around and then fired him (Tom Cable at 8-8) Tampa Bay for a long, long, long, time. 1982-1996 all losing seasons - 10 of those seasons less than 6 wins....horrid. the Saints 1967 - 1986. 20 consecutive non winning seasons. (one 8-8 in there) I will agree this is the worst the place the Washington redskins have been in since 1981 for sure. Will be interested as to what happens after the season. |

He has but I don't ever remembering him eating 20 million. That's a lot of coin to pay to make someone go away. Gruden's in the drivers seat and he knows it. |

To you, I doubt Dan. Plus he has already paid one year of it down. Imagine being Gruden. Get fired and still get 16m over the next 4 years. Plus if Gruden keeps putting this trash out for 4 years, Danny would lose a lot more then 20m because of lost revenue. |

Re: RG3 and Gruden?
As was pointed out many months ago, the Gruden contract problem is what you get when, unlike every other team, you give a first-time HC a guaranteed long-term contract.
Perhaps some day we will throw intelligence, rather than money, at problems. |

Plus if Gruden keeps putting this trash out for 4 years, Danny would lose a lot more then 20m because of lost revenue.
People keep saying this. It's a statement based on no fact whatsoever, it's nothing but conjecture. We've had plenty of losing seasons but think about how you feel the next August, you're hanging on every moment of every preseason game thirsting for real football, wishfully believing that this year will be better. We will still sell out games. People will still fill the stadium until it is very late in the season and they're out of it. We are a loyal (foolish?) bunch. We can't help but get caught up in the excitement and anticipation. We are not a fair weather fan base, the revenue stream will be fine. |

5 years × 4 million equals 20 million |

Well I'm just going off recent actions. He tried to get Shanahan to resign so he wouldn't have to pay his salary this year, and they decided to keep Haslett and some other coaches on the staff. You telling me those decisions weren't at least in part fiscally motivated? |
Re: RG3 and Gruden?
I hate Hazlett, he needs to go.
Boycott. |
