Why Galette is an OLB ? The only talent on the DL is Baker and he is a free agent next year.
Because the draft is not heavy with top corners. So we need to move on one in the first round. We can get good DTs in the 2nd and 3rd. |

in our scheme those are the main pass rushers. DL Paea, Baker, Ricky Jean, Golston, new guy from the Chargers we signed. Trent could move to the frontline and Preston could see time there. I think we are getting a NT/DE in the 1st or 2nd round in the draft as well. |

I think there is a good chance they trade back in the first round and add a pick or two. Also, are you assuming Culliver is done (going to be cut). If not, they have two good CBs. |
Don't be surprised if Murphy moves into Hatcher's spot and the skins draft another pass rusher. There was talk of him getting bigger and moving positions, he 6'6" and has room for additional weight.
Exactly what I meant, it felt like the coaches were alluding to him getting bigger and moving inside last year. He could easily put on weight and would be a force inside. That would allow us to take a safety or CB in the draft (come on Karl Joseph) instead of feeling stuck with taking one of the interior DLine players |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Getting a bit ahead, but I'm sure this has a lot to do with the upcoming negotiations with Jordan Reed:
John Keim @john_keim 46m46 minutes ago reported last week that Jordan Reed had changed agents. Now confirming he's hired Joel Segal, as @MikeJonesWaPo, @MasterTes reported earlier |

He has no guaranteed money coming so cutting him wont foxxor our cap situation too bad. (If I'm reading all that jargon properly) Either way, we can do better at corner. |

Keim said today he wasn't looking good at the Va Tech pro day where we were scouting. |

we still need a NT. murphy would be a DE. he's not a great pass rusher, so being a 3-4 olb is kind of a bad fit for him. I'd go NT over CB any day if the talent level is equal, just because of how important it is to our scheme. with the draft being deep it also means that the guy we can get at #21 might have been a top 10-15 pick in a normal year. anyways, #1 NT > #3-4 cb. if we're cutting culliver, then cb would be as important. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Good news on Gallete.
But on another note...LeRibeus is back? Seriously??? he was thrown around like a rag doll last year. Center was the weakest link on Offense last year....I hope they keep looking to improve this position in the draft. |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
What's Ziggy Hoods role on this D? DE or NT?
|
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
I doubt LeRib was given anything more than the minimum. He'll be on the roster bubble.

Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Love that Gallette is coming back.
Can't see Murphy as a 34 DE, having deja vu w/ this discussion, IF he were to move seems closer to an ILB then a 34 DE Don't agree that Murphy even has to move to get Junior on the field tho I can't recall whether or June is actually good against the run or not, but ultimately I don't really care because he's here to rush the passer. In that regard Murphy can still play run downs/rotate w/ Preston or whatever but on pass rush down which ~65-70% of the time: June-Preston-Reyes-Kerrigan on base downs: Preston/Murph-Ricky-Bake-Paea-Kerrigan/Preston |
Re: Redskins Free Agency 2016
Surprised at the money that Bruton received,
Like his skillset/measurable (4.46 @ combine) and like his special teams background Typically speaking you expect a special teams standout to be a tough guy and solid tackler with that being said, I wouldn't just pencil him in as a starter just yet Duke is the most experienced and proven S on the roster his problem with us this far has been injury Really like the idea of giving Hall a real chance at FS, I think he could make the transition very well Jarrett seems like a natural Bruton is going to have to earn his way onto the field and I'm sure he'll be given every chance to win the job because of the signin and money But like w/ Jeron Johnson last year, I don't think he'll be handed the job A positive 2nd order effect of Bruton winning a S spot is the ability to keep Hall at CB and help in the lower secondary opposite Breeland IF Cully is still recovering/ineffective OR Hall can join Jarrett and specialize as a NB/slot safety |
