Uh no - that is the exact opposite of what happened. They emphatically refused to give him up and certainly didn't volunteer to give up power. Where the heck are you getting your information? Oh and it was 2001.
Here is an article from Dec. 2001 https://www.theguardian.com/world/2001/dec/07/afghanistan.julianborger1 The Taliban agreed to relinquish their last strong hold and relinquish their weapons in return for amnesty for Omar. We said no to diplomacy and yes to war. I am not saying Taliban would have kept their end of the bargain but we never even considered it. |
Btw im not saying Bush should or shouldn’t have negotiated with them. Im just saying that he did refuse to listen to offers about it. Which is what Baltimore said. As for relinquishing power im not sure what he meant there.
WE use to have a policy that the US didn't negotiate with terrorists, I agreed with it then and agree with it now. |

I mean you really can't. It's heartbreaking when people have to die. But if you keep doing it, more people will die, and terrorists will do it more often. |

Saw something similar in Iraq. There was a kidnapping spree on foreigners (for money), but Americans were never targeted because we didn't pay ransom. |

He was the last of the Al Qaeda leadership that was in place at the time of the 9/11 attacks. We had already killed or captured everyone else.

It's hard for me to believe that 9/11 was almost 21 years ago.

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/navy-identifies-2-seals-lost-201132099.html
Supposedly one of the most dangerous things you can do is trying to board a larger ship from a smaller "pilot" boat - you have to time it just right with the waves to avoid going overboard. And that's with a larger ship that is trying to get you onboard. Now imagine you're trying to board a ship that either doesn't know you're there or doesn't want you on board and imagine how much harder that is. RIP to two of the Navy's finest. |

Weird how Biden removed the Houthis off the terrorism list at the start of his presidency only too now reinstate them back on the terrorism list.
Embarrassment, piece of shit President. Worst president since Carter. |

Well, to be honest very few Presidents have that trait - frankly I think W is the only one that immediately comes to mind (Not even sure if his father or even Reagan (who was the best post war President) had that trait). |

Biden submitted, and the Senate passed an aid bill that directly addressed the southern border as well but Johnson pigeonholed it. And people worldwide (in the US too) have died as a result. You haven't learned a thing, chico does not warrant civil discourse, yes it's that simple. WTFU. Honestly to add your constant bitching about Biden is almost as annoying anything chico throws out. Make no mistake I am not a fan but he is one hundred times better then the alternative. |

Re: All things Middle East related
I think it is time for the Biden administration and Congress to buck up and at the very least threaten to withhold funds from Israel. In the span of a week Netanyahu has been culpable in the death of two Americans Hersh Goldberg-Polin and Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. Not to mention the Palestinian Americans and aid workers that were also killed earlier.
I will give the IDF credit they are very good at mistakenly killing people. We know they won't do the right thing to close to an election to do the right thing. |

I support Israel's right to defend itself, but that doesn't include killing civilians who want nothing to do with that conflict. |
