Re: Dwayne Haskins
We have got to play or get a QB that can take us all the way. Delaying that process in order to tread water with a journeymen Qb serves no purpose. We drafted a young kid at 15. Unless he is Heath Shuler bad then play him. Dummy down the playbook and run stuff that he's comfortable with. If he's not the guy then we may be back in a position next year to get another QB. Keep drafting QB's every year no matter what, like in the old days and keep 3 on your roster.
There hasn't been a rookie QB in NFL history to play 16 games and lead his team to the Super Bowl.....hopefully Haskins can do it.
It ain't happening this season but it could happen in year 2 or 3. The Seahawks did it with Wilson in his 2nd and 3rd year. Why can't we? |
Re: Dwayne Haskins
Let me see who is our Starting LG, LT when the season begins before I start Haskins Game 1. If its terrible, then play Keenum the first 5 tough games to start the season, then make the switch

If Flowers is in the starting line up start McCoy game 1, once he's injured start Keenum and hope he can make it past the Bears game. |

I will be so angry if Flowers is a starter week 1. Skins should sign Tackle Donald Penn to a one year deal and use him as a primary Swing Tackle and insurance if Trent continues to act like an ass. |

If they can call a power run offense with Peterson and Guice mix in the pass that will take a lot of pressure off of Haskins....and if the defense plays like it did for the first of the season last year, Haskins will be able to have a great shot at accomplishing that task. |
Re: Dwayne Haskins
The player that will impact Haskins the most is Guice, if he can be our workhorse and let Peterson stay fresh, look out. I know it's all "If's and maybes" but there is potential on this roster to make a playoff run.

I agree, the running game will make or break our season this year. We will use same formula last year before Smith broke his leg, which is a strong running game and strong defense. As long as our Oline and RBs stay healthy, I can see Redskins sneaking into playoffs. |

Yes. It's Trent + Scherff + Guice. It's that combo that gives you what amounts to an imposing running threat. Guice without those two won't do much. Guice with them seems like something that strong safeties need to key on, freeing up our shitty (until proven otherwise) passing game just enough. That's what will make this offense work in a complimentary football approach, going hand in hand with a stout defense. It's a formula that can grind out 9-10 wins. The Trent issue needs to be resolved, though. I'm not panicking over it, I think if the Skins stared him down he'd show up Week 1 and play under his current contract. But the guy deserves a few million more and I'd make reasonable efforts to increase his pay. |

Hopefully he's back training camp. |

Eagles and Boys will be solid, Giants are only as good as Barkley can carry them. 11 wins is the mark for a division crown, I'd say the Skins are most likely in the 7-9 win range again. |
Re: Dwayne Haskins
As much as it pains me to say, the Eagles are going to be nearly untouchable. DeSean Jackson gives them a lethal element, and they stabilized their running game with Jordan Howard, an extremely underrated acquisition.
All you can hope for is a Wentz injury, because there's no Foles to bail them out. But if Wentz plays, 12 wins is a lock. |
