re: What Shows Are You Watching?
So the one AMC show no one here seems to talk about is Hell on Wheels. Is it not worth checking out?
I like it, but am a fan of western type shows. Definitely something you want to give a few episodes before you give up on it. |

Well it's on Netflix so I may check it out. I'm a bit of a history buff, and to me the last quarter of the 19th century (post Civil War) is the most fascinating |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
I watched the pilot of Animal Practice right after the Olympics closing ceremony. I found it hilarious. Show doesn't premiere til Sept 26th though.

Ditto. If you haven't caught the Hatfields and McCoys I'd recommend it as well. |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
It ain't new but I've been going back through some classic shows and right now I'm rewatching Scrubs. Still one of the best written shows IMO.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Shark Week, talking about beating a dead horse. Same crap over and over again for the past 25 yrs.
|
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Shark Week..... more like Shark WEAK!!!!
And why dick around watching the same crap about sharks when you can learn FACTS about Mermaids??? Mermaids : Videos : Animal Planet |

I know seriously who is still watching shark week? Talk about wash rinse repeat... |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
They had some unbelievable footage in a show last night using super slow motion cameras. Show me a shark jumping out of the water in super slo mo and I'll watch. That doesn't get old to me.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Just watched Season 1 of this on Netflix. Quite funny

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
OK, I shouldn't be admitting this... but I'm watching Masterchef and I can't believe the emotional manipulation the producers are orchestrating. Spoiler The blind chick (who's being portrayed as being 100% blind, but has admitted that she isn't in interviews) has gotten so many passes it's ridiculous. If calling this BS out makes me a villain, so be it.

I love MasterChef! I enjoy cooking so I guess that what does it. Plus I'm a fan of anything Gordon Ramsey, the guy makes good tv. And if you're saying what I think you're saying that Lil _______ chick can cook! And the emotion is what sells the show.

First episode of the second half of the new season for South Park, and I think what Cartman did in Butters room makes up for all of the cruel stuff Cartman's done to him over he years. The rest of the episode is pretty funny too, it's very NFL centric as well. Note: since I've written this, the rest of this episode expanded on what happened in Butters room. Very gross lolol.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Anyone watching the new series on NBC Revolution? I watched the first two episodes. So far its been okay. Enjoyable, but nothing extremely special.

Eager to see ESPN's "Broke" tonight about how athletes lose all their money.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
It may have already been mentioned in this thread, but did anyone watch Homeland on Showtime? I just watched the whole 1st season OnDemand last week and it's definitely the best new show I've seen in a long time.
Great cast, really good acting and writing, and Claire Danes' character professes to be a huge Redskins fan (it's about the CIA so it mainly takes place in DC) which is a nice bonus. I highly recommend it.
Now that the second season just started, after the 1st season won Best Drama/Actor/Actress at the Emmy's, I feel like I need to bring this up again. Watch it; do it; do it. Now. |

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Homeland is possibly the best TV viewing since The Wire. And that's coming from someone who is a serious Breaking Bad and Mad Men junkie.

I started watching the first season of Breaking Bad today while I'm home on bed rest. About to start watching the fourth episode now, I can definitely see what I've been missing.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Watching American Horror Story: Asylum. I like it because every season is different. Season 1 has no connection to Season 2. Its basically like they started over with a brand new story.
And also Adam Levine (the lead singer from Maroon 5 and that dude from The Voice) got his arm ripped off in the first episode. That's always a good start. |

Anyway, I loved the first season and did like the 1st episode of the second even though it didn't quite grab like S1E1 did. In any case, there are way too many good shows on right now!! |
i don't have cable or satellite but i still don't watch those shows, i'd rather rent a movie.
forgot all about boardwalk empire. this season has been so lame. don't even bother watching it unless you've been watching.
this is why i don't watch these kind of shows, it's forever stuck in the "rising" action phase. no climax, no resolution, just empty calories |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Arrow, Revolution, and Hunted are the immediate show that come to mind.
|
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
i tried revolution, but it started bad and got worse. guess it's just not for me.
just like last stand or whatever it's called. andre braughter is in it, but it's pretty terrible too. |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
I just blew through BSG in about two months. Very good show. If you liked Lost I think you'd like BSG. They even have similarly regarded finales.

re: What Shows Are You Watching?
my gr roped me into homeland, we're 6 episodes deep into the first season.
boardwalk empire was awesome this week. it finally picked up, i can't wait for the season finale. |

They may bring it back later if none of the winter lineup shows take off. I hope they do - they show is the best drama on network TV. Alot of good comedies on TV now, though. Ben and Kate is my favorite new comedy. |

So I don't know, I can't get into The Wire. Maybe because I compare it to Homicide (probably my favorite drama of all time) and I don't see how The Wire is better
On the other hand, just started season two of The Shield. Loving it |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
King of the Nerds premiered tonight.
As a blerd I felt it my duty to watch. |
re: What Shows Are You Watching?
Archer back tonight too
|
Damn - I completely forgot about that!!

On the other hand, just started season two of The Shield. Loving it
i had the same problem. the first 5 seasons of homicide are just better television. the only bad thing about homicide was that it was in baltimore and not LA, so it was hard to keep talent on this side of the country. good actors and good writers were replaced with average ones and the last two seasons were pretty meh. |
