Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
Yeah, but Verrett, Skov, Reynolds, and O'Donnell could all start right away. Lyerla could be a beast early if he would stay out of trouble, and Thomas would be a great addition to our offense, as well as the KR if Andre Roberts isn't it. If we managed to have this type of draft, I would s*** myself every time I thought of it until the season started.
RT is the biggest need along the O-line, but after the RTs rated as 2nd rounders(Moses, Kouandijo, Fleming, James, etc.), there's a big drop-off in talent, IMO. If Verrett is available at #34, he'll almost certainly be the best player available, so I'd take him there. In the 3rd, barring a fall of one of the previously mentioned RTs, Skov would also likely be better than any RT left, as well as the best player available. Ditto for Reynolds in the 4th. If we drafted 3 immediate starters in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, I wouldn't care at all if one of those wasn't an OL. I'll be happy if we take an OL high, but I don't want to reach. I'm hoping that Leribeus at RG and either Compton or Polumbus at RT take a big enough step forward to claim the starting jobs without question. A lineup of Williams at LT, Lavuao at LG, Lichtensteiger at C, Leribeus at RG, and Compton at RT would make me quite optimistic. Like I said though, I'd be happy with an OL high.
So you are projecting four immediate starters and helpful contributions by other rookies from one draft which lacks a first-round pick? |

Skov a starter ? Reynolds would probably play a lot, and could start by mid-season. Lyerla has a drug problem... no thanks Counting on 2 inexperienced players on the O line, is very risky. |
Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
My dream draft scenario would be to deal Kirk for a 2nd rounder, trading out off the 34th spot to pick up an additional 3rd & 4th, and end with (2) 2nd, (2) 3rd, (2) 4th, (1) 5th, (1) 6th & (1) 7th...we could add more depth to the roster. I believe the fact we have the 34th pick a lot of 1st round talent will drop into the 2nd based on the possibility teams will make trades to get the QB's & WR's.

Hey, I'm a Skins fan. We're delusional. :Smoker: On a serious note, I would expect only Verrett and O'Donnell to start. Verrett is an elite talent, so it would be idiotic to not start him in the slot over Porter. And O'Donnell, being a punter, would also likely start. I wouldn't expect Shayne Skov to start, but I would expect him to be in the mix at ILB. Same for Reynolds at FS; Clark is really the only FS we have and he's 34(35 now?). Surely Ed Reynolds, being the great tackler that he is, could contribute early. Colt Lyerla does have off-field issues, but he's a great receiving TE. If he stayed out of trouble, I'm 100% sure Gruden would find a way to get him and Reed on the field at the same time, even early in the season. De'Anthony Thomas would surely find the field some way as well. |

Nope, not a single one. Ole Shanny would disapprove. But you don't see SFRedskins disapproving of my mock. No, sir. With 4 West Coast players being drafted, I'll bet he took one look and got a massive hard on. If I would have just had, say, Cameron Fleming instead of Verrett, he would've gizzed in his pants. :D |

I guess Teddy doesn't like what he's been hearing lately.

Whatever. Let me put it this way: Verrett would cover the slot receiver when offenses came out in 3 WR sets. Or another way: Verrett would be the 3rd corner in nickel and dime packages. Basically, he would take over Tracy Porter's projected role. While it wouldn't technically be a starting spot, for all practical purposes it would be. Satisfied, Refutable? |
Re: 2014 draft prospects Early edition
ILB - replace Fletcher, straight up.
No one would take a QB?
If Cousins is dealt then maybe in the later rounds. David Fales may be the sleeper of the draft. I watched a few of their games because I either bet for or against San Jose. Kid looks like a complete QB that can make all the throws, is dead accurate and gets the ball out on time. My only concern is there is 0 defense in the Moutain West. |

Personally I like Johnny football better than Bridgfalter aka Akili Smith Jr. |

Would you rather have Jace Amaro in the 2nd or Austin Seferain-Jenkins in the 3rd?

2014 draft prospects Early edition
Personally I like Johnny football better than Bridgfalter aka Akili Smith Jr.
Smith was a huge risk because he only really played a handful of games in division 1. Bridgwater has proven himself. I like Manziel better too though. |
