I like what it says about how the coaches feel the young talent is coming along.

When you're utterly replaceable, your ass better fit in. That's any job USA.
Just a guess here but I'm willing to bet Khalil Mack is traded and we are a top 3 team in that race. Wouldn't shock me if we got him, yes it will be expensive but he's a top 3 player in the league on Defense and in his prime. Would u do it?
This is the exact kind of thinking we've bemoaned as fans for the past 10 years. I don't see why we would be involved in such a large scale trade, giving up multiple picks/players for a position that we're relatively stable at.

Yes, Mack would be a huge addition to the team but I'm pleased with our recent drafting/developing and would prefer to keep the picks and get one of our own guys.

Agreed. (Especially if Tim Settle continues to prove how wrong I was to be skeptical about his preseason performance ^^)

In fact, the more I think about it, the more the only acquisition that I'd be in favor now would be OL: either a quality back up able to play several positions, that could be found in the waivers, or part of a low key trade, or an improvement at LG.

Even if Guice's injury is a bummer, I'm not worried by our RB squad... well at least not as worried as I am by our OL depth.
We still have a solid roster, best defense we've had in decades, solid QB, solid receiving corps, talented young RB, very good starting OL minus the LG spot... But if more than one of these 5 big men gets injured, and Tyler Catalina or Tony Bergstrom or John Kling or TJ Clemmings comes in... all of the sudden we're in trouble!

My exact feelings...im hoping Preston can make that jump and he will be much cheaper. Mack is looking for stupid money

Preston will want stupid money if he does make the jump. But it would be a good problem to have.

PS isn't on the same planet as Mack guys, he's an avg pass rusher at best. We are all hoping he has a great yr but that has yet to happen.

Trading for Mack sounds like a Vinny move, we’re not that team anymore

Vinny move was getting old washed up dudes and paying them big $ or Free agents that had 1 good year.. Mack is the best OLB in football, huge difference.

I doubt they move him, eventually they'll cave.

Agreed Matty. I think our defense is solid and has solid depth too.
