Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Will he get extra attention though. From my perspective it seemed clear to every one after about 2 games last year that he was the sole play maker on offence. When later in the year Sims started making plays it was in part because defences were concentrating on McClaurin. McClaurin was being guarded 1 on 1 by the top corner-backs on the opposite team including the likes of Slay and Gilmore. I don't think he can get more attention.
Some defenses could have a safety hover nearby McLaurin's side sometimes to help out the CB guarding McLaurin. Based on what I learned about McLaurin, his work ethics is off charts and I have no doubts McLaurin is doing everything to refine his skills in this offseason, which will put more pressure on #1 CBs than last season. |

Q. Do we have another emerging star at WR?
From PFF: We often look at efficiency numbers for wide receivers that explore how effective they are after the ball comes their way. Drawing targets is a skill in itself, though. To be targeted at a high rate, a receiver must consistently separate from his defender and earn the trust of his quarterback by showing him that he can come down with the pass even if the separation isn’t there. These were the players who excelled in those areas, drawing targets on the highest percentage of their routes in 2019. Note: The minimum route threshold used was 25% of the maximum routes run in the group being examined. For example, Curtis Samuel ran more routes than any other wide receiver in 2019, with 647 routes run. The minimum route threshold was set to 25% of 647 (162). ALL ROUTES: MICHAEL THOMAS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS Player Routes run Targets Target rate 1. Michael Thomas 599 180 30.1% 2. Davante Adams 427 124 29.0% 3. Julio Jones 572 149 26.0% 4. DeAndre Hopkins 584 146 25.0% 5. Tyreek Hill 351 87 24.8% 6. Keenan Allen 596 147 24.7% 7. Steven Sims 213 52 24.4% 8. Allen Robinson 630 153 24.3% 9. T.Y. Hilton 276 67 24.3% 10. Alshon Jeffery 286 69 24.1% There aren’t many surprises in this top-10, but the name that would win out in a contest of “which of these names is not like the others” would be Steven Sims of the Washington Redskins. As an undrafted free agent rookie out of Kansas, Sims played a big role in the offense after coming on late in the season in a slot role. His PFF grade wasn’t all that impressive (64.4), but Sims had clearly earned the trust of quarterback Dwayne Haskins. He should get every opportunity to build on that campaign in 2020 with an uncertain depth chart behind Terry McLaurin. LINED UP IN THE SLOT: MICHAEL THOMAS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS Player Routes run Targets Target rate 1. Michael Thomas 179 64 35.8% 2. DeAndre Hopkins 211 57 27.0% 3. Cooper Kupp 375 99 26.4% 4. Thoughts? Should we make an offer? If this is a normal season I say yes. However with teams not even negotiating contracts with some of their star players due to the mess we are in with 'rona |

I’m lean towards passing tho |

It is hard for me to think about it right now with the uncertainty, but I would drop a 6th the potential is there. The wrist injury is a concern. |

Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Listened to Sheehan's latest episode. He said that a report came out (I cannot find it online if someone does know about it could you post it?) that said the Redskins have had the slowest growth by far of every single NFL franchise. Declining attendance, lack of corporate sponsors, lack of viewership in the metro area. To me a rebrand just makes economic sense at this point.

He already is. Was at the Lions game where he returned the kickoff for a TD. SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED. |
Re: Redskins General 2020 NFL Thread
Philly's most hated players on divisional teams. #10 Dexter Manley. He is really the Skins only representative but the author gives his reasons why. The video of Dexter smacking people around is worth a watch. Definitely a few flags there if he was playing in 2019. I like the one where he hits Phil Simms in the head while sacking him.
