Come on, does ANYONE remember the last fat $100 million dollar man with a bad attitude who stepped on people's faces that came here to DC? I'd defer to McCloughan but sounds like a horrible idea.

This offseason could not have started better. Haz gone and a good GM? Wow. Plan going accordingly. Now lets adress the oline and the db's.

I hope we pass on him. He'll be too expensive and he can't pass block.

Giants fired DC Perry Fewell.

Fewell, 52, worked under coach Tom Coughlin for 10 seasons, spending five in Jacksonville from 1998-2002 and the last five as the Giants' defensive boss. Fewell's Giants units were top-10 in yards allowed in 2010 and 2013, but were bottom-five the other three seasons. The G-Men were particularly bad against the run this past season, finishing 30th and surrendering a league-worst 4.9 YPC.

I though Coughlin said no changes...and they're gonna do this:!!!

The Giants are expected to reach out to Ravens DBs coach Steve Spagnuolo regarding their defensive-coordinator vacancy.

It would be quite the reunion after Spagnuolo put himself on the map with a wildly successful two years as the Giants' defensive boss from 2007-2008. He was the mastermind of the defense that shut down Tom Brady and the 18-0 Patriots in the 2007 Super Bowl. Spagnuolo then became the head coach of the Rams in 2009, finishing with a pitiful 10-38 record across three seasons. His stint as the Saints' defensive coordinator in 2012 was abysmal, as the Saints fielded the worst defense of all-time in yards allowed. He's rehabbed his value in Baltimore.

Im sorry, Spags effing sux

spags has done an amazing job making second half season adjustments with the ravens secondary this year.

outside of webb, i dont think any current secondary starters were even on the ravens roster week 1.

he has a bunch of JAGs who didnt work together in preseason playing as a cohesive unit.

Spags basically made has the same secondary talent that we do, but he is making it work. he even had the stones to sit highly drafted safety mike elam for poor performance ... and ended up being right.

I think there are other big, strong defensive tackles that can play the run well.....another thing is the Redskins coaches taking 4-3 personnel and placing them in a 3-4......we have to use our cap space wisely.....

I've read a couple of places that with McC in the fold don't be surprised to see him dip into familiar waters to bring some former 49ers draft picks that could be free (Ahmad Brooks, Vernon Davis) as well as some Seahawks free agents (Byron Maxwell) but free agency being very measured and low key. No more big game hunting...thank GOD!

Other than DJax (which was a good acquisition), when did we go big game hunting? I wouldn't consider Gracon that type of pick up; nor Hatcher.

I hope they will sign 3-5 of the top 50 free agents ... OL, DE (4-3), DB

From what I've read, McCloughan likes to build teams through the draft, so I wouldn't expect him to dabble heavily into free agency. I mean, think about it, did he raid the San Fran roster when he came to Seattle? No, he built that team through the draft and supplemented a few places with free agency. I expect him to try and do the same thing with the Redskins. Now, he might grab one of those guys if the price is right, but he's not going to go crazy in free agency.

Although, it might do the 'skins some good to pick up Vernon Davis.

I'm hoping on the flip side of this dynamic that the Shanahans, wherever they land, might be willing to offer something for folks that the Shanahans love but Gruden doesn't. Like Cousins, for just one example.

We did have our hands tied with the cap penalty and no first round picks to offer - ya never know we might have tried.

One thing I will say in favor of Bruce: since he came, contracts have been reasonable. No $100 mil. men. We overpaid for folks like Lauvao and Porter but not wildly so.
