Here I fixed it for you. IF WASHINGTON DRAFTS MALIK WILLIS he will be out of the league in 4 years....he's a great athlete but his little body can't sustain those hits in the nfl...he'll get broken up and possibly stay injured |
Most said Watson wouldn't last either with his small frame and knee issues and he's a top 10 QB.
We all said TH wouldn't make it a season.. Not saying Willis is great but he is by far the most gifted passer of the bunch, the ball literally jumps out of his hand
That's arguably what you don't want in a QB 😉😁 |
Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Thankfully, one thing I've noticed of the draft a QB crowd on this board is they have expressed no thought of trading up (higher than 11) to get a QB in the draft, some would trade down. That said I was shocked to see in other places Redskins fans proposing we trade star defensive linemen, or future picks, with our first to move up in the 1st for a QB. That tells me quite a few of the people who hate Snyder would be exactly like him (at least with the draft) if they owned the team. Absolute insanity.

Well right now that can be said of any of these prospects. I still think it would be smarter to build future draft capital (as much as possible) and try in next years much better QB class. |
Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Now I've heard it all. A Redskin fan posted that PFF had a study that broke out the chances of getting a stud QB and where they were drafted. Since picks 1-3 had by far the best results (20%) he thinks we must trade up into the top 3 picks in this years draft to draft a QB. So in essence if we say drafted Willis (Who he wants) at 3 he'll have a 20% chance of becoming a star vice drafting Willis at 11 where it only about an 8% chance he'd be a star.

That's just someone who doesn't understand statistics. They are an indicator of probable outcomes not a predictor of actual outcomes. Hopefully the team have staff that are better qualified than that guy! |

History says that one of them will bust. |
Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Willis is just way too raw. He just isn't a precision passer right now at all. Boom or bust pick. I think with a guy like him he would need to w/out question sit for a year. Against Ole Miss he just looked way in over his head.
But the physical skills are there. The arm talent is there. I just feel you can't go with a guy like him in the first few rounds. He is at the very highest a 4th rounder. But because he is a QB w/ a skill set he will most likely go higher. |

I think he will be a legit starter or not even in the league in 3 or 4 years. If we drafted him at 11, I'd be OK with it. If we traded down in the 1st and got him, I'd be pumped about it. I want to sign Winston or Trubisky or Mariota, regardless of what we do in the draft anyways. Winston/Trubisky/Mariota, rookie draft pick, Heinicke/Allen, and I'd feel solid about QB position going into next year. |

Based on personality, leadership, etc., no way he is worse. RG3 was too much of a d-bag to be successful regardless of how talented he was. |
Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
My thinking goes like this...
1) If the talent evaluation says there isn't an at least potential franchise QB when we're picking, sign an interim starter in FA. 2) If 1) and we can't get our interim starter in FA, do a reasonable trade for someone like Carr (assuming he/they are available). 3) If we can't do 1 or 2, then draft the best QB available when we pick IF they are rated within 2-3 spots of our pick. DON'T TRADE UP OR REACH. * 4) If all the above fails draft a QB in the lower rounds on the BPA principle. DON'T TRADE UP OR REACH. * *If nothing else, we have a young backup to TH, if not a surprise starter. 5) Unless we draft a diamond in the rough through the above, do everything within our power to grab one of the top 2 QB's in '23. I'm hoping based on RR's form to date, we'll go with option 1 or 2 then 5. We can then draft for immediate need elsewhere in this draft (LB, FS...) and get our franchise QB in '23. I'm really hoping someone locks Danny 'accidentally' in a maintenance room on draft day. |

If Kyle Shanahan wasn't running the offense in 2012 he doesn't sniff ROY |
