“How about Washington” Cerrato interrupted. “Ah, they’ll trade with St. Louis and get RGIII,” Clayton answered. |
^^^^^This is one of the most cogent and analytical postings of the year!
The Redskins have not had a competent QB - - let alone a better than average one - - for about a decade now. RG3 may indeed turn out to be a bust when all is said and done but the odds are that he will be no worse than any of the QBs that the Redskins have trotted out on the field for the last ten years.
He couldn't be a real bust. A guy like him even if he has the passing ability of Tebow has the legs and agility to at least be exciting to some degree. Can we even comprehend what "exciting" could possibly mean when it comes to our QB? I can't. |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
He said Helu was worth both a 2nd and a 4th, i can't believe that is the case. I mean i could be wrong but i doubt he would be worth that much.

Many a college player has had a hard time adjusting to the speed and complexity of the pro game.....Heath Shueller , Matt Leinart,Rynn Leaf...etc.(sp) |

I'm a frequent of the bleacher report, mostly for their list of cool things, but I came across this article. Just wondering how you all felt about it. The Washington Redskins Should Trade Roy Helu to Get a Franchise QB | Bleacher Report
I love Helu, but if we trade him and don't re-sign Hightower then RB becomes a need again. Helu 2012 3rd rounder 2013 2nd rounder to move up 4 spots, worth it? |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Helu isn't going to be traded for a 2nd and a 4th, that's for sure. That's not even possible in Madden.
|
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Seems like the only possible criticism of Helu at this point is his proneness to injury, but only time will really tell. That said every year I think teams will be more careful about drafting RBs really high and/or signing to big contracts in general. Look at Mark Ingram this year and you can see how risky RBs are.
Helu could turn out to be Mike's best pick in the '11 draft but he's not going to warrant a 2nd round pick. |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
i'd really rather not trade him i think he and royster and hightower area very formidable 3 and i have faith in the o-line and mike.

You obviously didn't fufill his full potential in franchise mode. |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
What I'm saying is when you look at the playoff QBs they are pocket passers who can move a bit to avoid the rush. RGIII is a mover who is a semi-accurate passer and that doesnt work in the NFL.
What exactly tells you that RGIII doesn't have the accuracy to be a big time NFL QB? |

I disagree..... [YT]TpMWjmfwhCg[/YT]
Helu isn't going to be traded for a 2nd and a 4th, that's for sure. That's not even possible in Madden.
Correct, Helu has proven to be an excelent back, but runningbacks in general just don't have that kind of value anymore. |
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
....The Skins should trade for Tebow.
|
Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search
Gak.....trading Helu would be stupid.
He's definitely a building block we should keep. |

I'd rather have Tebow than Manning. |
