It was pretty bad, they were 5 yards out of bounds and he was still hanging on him.
Hanging on him by the horsecollar. It was a filthy hit. DHall drives me nuts but I'll give him this - he always knows the right opposing players to target with his shenanigans. He had a 'great' hit on Vick later in the game. Wasn't dirty but he made sure to finish the tackle, with a little extra rollover at the end. Vick didn't look the same after that hit. |
Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
DHall certainly engages in a lot of gamesmanship, though with regard to the Jackson play, that was not gamesmanship so much as it was making a dirty play to try an injure a guy. At least that's the only logical defense for his play.
We brought Hall back, so we just have to live with the negatives that we signed up for. 1 bad 15 yard penalty down, 6 to go. |

Hall likes to punish the opponent, he just doesn't have the speed/agility to cover better receivers and was a gambler from the beginning anyway. That's why I thought FS would be a pretty logical transition. |
I mean it's not exactly an edgy opinion to suggest that the Redskins may be in trouble this year. The NFL did its best to give RG3 a homecoming opponent for his return, and they really beat our ass. They got exposed.
I think it's more productive to focus on how a team with more talent than it has had in the last five years can rally and improve over the next few weeks. Maybe they can. Maybe they'll struggle. But if you were going to predict doom for this team, you kind of missed the window where that's a prediction and not an observation. People were down-ish on this team in the preaseason, but no one I read picked them to finish below Philadelphia.
Is it me or is this kind of early to be talking like this after one game? Too late to predict doom? Is this Redskins Apocalypse? |

Getting beat by a team we should have dominated is doom if you do it more than a few times, because we're gonna face X number of teams that are actually better than us (right now). It's what we did in 2010, 2011 and about half of last season. I think the concern is pretty valid. Like Joeredskin said, offensively you can keep the eagles in check with solid tackling, if you have a QB on defense (we do) and a solid FS (we don't). And we should have been able to put tons of points on that defense. So you hope it was a combination of RG being rusty early on, Morris' worst game of the season, olines worst game of the season, and worst FS play of the season. |

Do you guys know what doom actually means. That there's NO hope. You guys may be exaggerating a little bit. Do you guys as fans have any heart or are you guys just front runners and with the first experience of adversity you guys think the world is over? That's what I said earlier about the Redskins- you need to have a warriors mentality and learn either you give up or keep fighting no matter what. Sounds like that saying its doom for Redskins now is giving up way to early. Do I think that was a big loss? Yeah but I'm not giving up like some Doomsday Preppers and I think the redskins aren't either. Real bottomline- the Redskins only lost by 6 points in a game that everyone perceives was a blowout. |
Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
... And to those that think that the eagles just softened up at the end and just let the Redskins get close- take a close look at the Eagles defense in the second half. They were blitzing up the middle like there was no tomorrow. I wouldn't describe that as soft.

This time, I can't really tell. It's obvious when you watch the play that D Hall got out run, and his only chance of making the play was to grab anything he could hold on to. If you've ever actually played football.. It's not as easy as you think to make a split second choice on when to let go, or when to hold on.. If you actually think D Hall tackled him in that matter to hurt him, then you seriously have observation issues. We lost one game fella's, and I know it burns a bit but all of you couch coaches talking about how our coaching staff is bad, and we need to replace (insert player who had a bad game here) or RG3 isn't what he use to be.. Well, you guys need to breathe and step off the cliff.. There is 16 games left, and even though it seems like the handful of you want this regime to fail just so you can act like you knew you were not talking out your ass. We are the DEFENDING NFC EAST Champions.. Just saying... |
Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
I feel like we need to make a new thread section for all of these guys who have all this roster, coaching, gameplanning, and inside information.
Just call it "The Couch Coach Central" Make Gtripp and Goat the mods of the thread section so they can negatively speak about how bad the Shanahan's are every week, how D Hall eats little children, and how our O-Line couldn't block a FCS schools defensive front. I wouldn't need to post in there.. I would just want to continue reading it to get a good laugh every week. |

When do we ever "dominate" anyone? Most of our games are close ones. The fans/media are a little too high off last year. We had a nice run but it's a new year. I guess you forgot about how bad Fletcher looked, or how poorly the d-line played... even Kai missed a kick. But time to move on from last week and last year. A win on the road Sunday will cure all....at least for one week! |
Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
I dont see him as being a clown, what do you disagree with? I think he's spot on about RG3,what do you disagree with?
For starters, this ridiculous statement:
So Griffin will be a passer much more of the time when he doesn't hand it off, making the Skins a more pedestrian offense. They will score fewer points because Griffin won't be scoring them running. Fewer points will translate to more losses.
He has obviously not watched Griffin play. He's just as dangerous of a passer as a runner. Also, look how effective Mike Shanahan's traditional roll-out offense was with Kirk Cousins running it, without the take-off and run ability that Griffin still has. Even if we abandon the option plays completely, which we won't, RGIII rolling out will be a dangerous offense to try to stop. He'll have open receivers and the defenses will still have to respect his legs. Also, instead of trying to run around the end of the line, he'll already be heading down the sidelines and the safety of the out-of-bounds lines after he gets the first down. He'll run that offense to perfection. Seriously, "fewer points will translate to more losses" sounds like when John Madden said “Usually the team that scores the most points wins the game.” Look at the Patriots so far this year, fewer points and still unbeaten. Good teams with elite QBs can find a way to win. That's exactly what we are now. |

This has to be the first time in the history of this site that someone said The Goat has a high opinion of the Redskins
