It’s a one year deal and we had the worst LB’s in football. We can also draft one who can learn from the master now. It is a great move.
Tackle and Corner will be addressed in the draft. We absolutely knocked FA out of the park. We have 9 new starters. 10 - forgot about Ott. 2020 pro bowl long snapper. All upgrades. All under 3 year contracts. Still 6 picks in the top 100. This is going to be a completely different team.
So you think Peters knocked it out of the park? We've been down this road before, signing a bunch of free agents. Let's be honest, most of these guys are injury prone, past their primes or didn't live up to their potential. The good part is these are team friendly deals. Smart signings money wise. I get what Peters is doing. He has to come in here and start turning this roster over. I just think a few of these signings are terrible. But some are good, particularly the center. Gotta get an experienced center if you're playing a rookie. |
Punt returner?
Seems like you'd want him to contribute at wr because he isn't a very good punt returner. Idk. Not a huge deal either way of course. I'm sure he got very little guaranteed money. |
I kinda like Tyler Boyd as a security blanket type for the new qb. Only if he's cheap though.
I really don't get the Crowder signing.
Special team / Punt returns |
He led the league in tackles last season. Still has something in the tank.
He is one year older than London fletcher was when he got here and I think everyone would agree that was a great signing |
A lot of these moves like Wagner are about plugging holes, can’t do it all in the draft. If we signed Wagner to a multi year deal I could understand not liking it but come on people some of you just aren’t being realistic
100% agree |

IMO these are smart signings, with good team friendly contracts, and needed bodies since the team has let most of the expiring contracts walk. We know this team is going to build through the draft and using free agency as a complement to the draft. And they are sticking to the plan, and that is better than any flashy free agency acquisition (how many of those have worked out in the past? None). |

Alegretti 27 no injury concerns; Biadiax 26 no injury concerns; D Armstrong 26 no injury concerns; Luvu 27 no injury concerns; That's four starters, the other 2 that are clearly starters, Wagner has no injury concerns and Chinn is 26 and both those guys have minimal 1 year contracts. |

The only injury concerns are Ertz and Ekeler, and as I said, those were the low risk/high reward, incentive-laden deals that the team made. |

Ertz I dont expect to be the full time starter, Ekeler i see splitting carries and being used the way the Eagles used Sproles as to minimize his injury chances |
Re: Commanders 2024 Free Agency Thread
Saw a stat that had Eckler at 44 TDs since 2021... that leads the NFL.. Regardless of what we think, he's got a nose for the endzone.

Thanks because I wasn’t sure where to begin. These are far from the terrible contracts we used to hand out to over the hill stars. How anyone can have a problem with what Peters just did is bat shit crazy. But that will become painfully obvious when the season starts. |
